Baba just find one accredited school go, be it high ranking or not, be it bla bla bla. So far the school is accredited, don’t worry, they’ll teach you well, the summary is are you willing to put your head down and learn. Also when you graduate “They’ll never ask you where you schooled. All those reputable school bla bla na for you and your resume. They only care about you sabi the job or not! At the end do what suites you.

Thanks for showing me a city which is a second residence.

However, I am not sure the purpose of the photos like there’s barely any less developed city or university in the US? Photos do not always equal to efficiency.

As I said, there are way better universities than Lamar.

Apply to schools in Minnesota (state owned) the state pays about half of your tuition “See it more like Minnesota let’s you pay in-state tuition as an International student”

July 25th
Visa approved
2nd attempt
Abuja Embassy
School: Oklahoma City Community College

So my situation is a bit unique. This is actually my 2nd semester in school. I was already in the US for a master’s degree in healthcare administration. After my master’s degree, I got into a nursing degree in a community college, which is an associate degree. I needed to come visit my family during the summer break but that means I will need to renew my visa to be able to re-enter the US (big risk but I had to). I got to Nigeria and went for my interview on June 2nd in Abuja. I was denied by the white lady with straight blonde hair. I was devastated but I summoned courage, joined a WhatsApp group and got another date for July 25th at Abuja embassy.
Here’s how the interview went
VO: I can see I was the one who interviewed you before, please go to the next window for your interview.
Me: okay thank you.

The other VO (also a white lady black hair): Have you been to the US before?

Me: Yes I have. I completed a master’s degree in healthcare administration.

VO: So why are you going for an associate degree after a master’s degree?

Me: Well, at the end of my master’s degree, I came back to Nigeria to interview for a clinic administrative position at a teaching hospital but the qualifications for the role include a masters in healthcare admin and also a nursing degree. I have the master’s degree but I needed a nursing degree to secure this position. So I went back to the US to complete my OPT and before the end of my OPT I was able to get into a nursing program.

VO: (typing in her computer and nodding) so what is your plan after your nursing program?

Me: I will be back to Nigeria, I’ll register for the nursing licensing exam here, get my license and take up the clinic administrative position at their pediatric clinic. I also just lost my dad, I have inheritance here. Businesses, properties that I’m now in charge of. This is actually the reason why I came back home for the long holiday to supervise everything. (I was trying to establish my ties at this point).

VO: kept tying…. Okay everything looks good, I’ll be approving your visa. Take this paper it will instruct you on how to get your passport.

Me: thank you.
Let me just say this, I have been on this forum reading comments about the tiny possibilities of getting a visa to a community college. Yes your chances are slim but it really depends on a lot of things. In my case, while I have a master’s degree, it was important that a gave a valid reason as to why I am pursuing an associate degree. Your home ties is also important. I was really naive during my first interview, I thought since I had already started my program, they will just easily renew my visa. I will say just prepare very well before the interview. Most importantly pray! I prayed, cried like never before. I asked God for grace and favor and He answered.

Don’t even think about it, i don’t think anyone here would try it. Follow the rules, don’t beat the gun.

Goodday guys.
I want to be sure if there is a situation where a student traveled a week or more before his/her earliest admission date to the US without any problem at the homeland checkpoint.

Read to understand is what is getting you triggered sigh “Nigerian shaaa” you need to relax and understand that the sentence wasn’t offensive…Anyways go try what I just said. Hopefully they’d waive it for you….Goodluck
bukhety:

Guy, be civil in a public space. That's the difference between you and the other guy.

I just attached what I saw on the official website. I'm not even interested in the school to start with. There is a difference between native language and official language.

I guess it's you that needs to read to understand. undecided

Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Swerveking14: 3:37pm On Jan 05, 2022
Sigh, some of you can’t just read to understand….listen, mail the school that you are a Nigerian and “what’s is the first official language language “”English””. Some school would let it slide provided you can prove to them that you are fluent in English. Here in Minnesota, if it’s this same scenario, the school offer you something called “Acuplacer”, if you get a certain score, they let you proceed… that is what I’m explaining to you.
bukhety:

Oga, so English is Nigeria's native language? cool

The school seems to require English language test for non-native speakers.

Arrived USA a few days ago via Qatar Airways. Very long but memorable journey. Got delayed for almost an hour at the point of entry but was later admitted.

Excited about this new journey. Good luck to everyone still in the process. I will always make out time to provide as much information I can.

Happy New year in advance.

Worst case, contact the school and begin deferring process. AP might take longer.
vanessa969:

Hi dear from what I understood from your message, you have your passport with you right?

I am sorry it’s difficult to hear but once the day of the interview they don’t collect your passport or they don’t give u a paper that says they are investigating it means that they didn’t approve. The admin processing if for everyone whether you were refused or not, then later they will update it. So try to work on getting another date but since your start date is January 3rd I feel the best thing for you is to defer.

PS: just my opinion pls

You get time Dey answer all those people. When one of them can step up to me and tell me why some don’t get visa, Abi them no pray and fast too ni. See in Africa Ehn, when you realize God no get hand for some things, that continent go be better place. God has given you the brain to go and prepare for your interview, any other thing is now between you and your fellow human standing behind a glass, who chooses to either accept you to enter their country or not and thousands of others. Run your ration they accept 100 a day and deny 500. Those 500 no pray go there?? What you believe is yours, I won’t even be debating that with anyone, but when you leave the shores of Nigeria, you’d understand that this same God that you worship is also the same that this white people also worship, but look your own country and see theirs “they are dealing with their own battles o”, do you see the difference, everything is almost perfect for them but our dear Nigeria is a damn shit hole. That brings me to those that’ll say God will heal our land and all those bullshit “Ori yin ti daru” God yii na ni. No go do your county well dey pray make God come do miracle o, Even God sef Dey laugh all of una. If it’s so sure for you, come out and tell me you didn’t prepare for your interview or you didn’t even read through someone’s transcript. To you wey Dey come yankee, Put God on one hand and your human mission on the other. Them no carry God for head here like where u Dey come from. I was once like many people but then when I got here, I began to question many things. I’m a Christian and I do believe there is God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and the Devil. I’d say this “Because you got your visa is why you came here to write you thank God and all, I’m sure if they denied whoever, nobody would write “I give God the glory for being denied in their transcript o” I know what would be running in their minds but “That one na story for another day”…..
Predstan:

Miracle worker for liars and dubious people too? Whatever you prepare for is not Miracle. In Africa we attribute miracle to what we don’t deserve….

Fighting for God is useless too. Whatever you have or you ever own, people who don’t know God have multiple of that without attributing it to God….

So you pray, you don’t pray, you can get Visa without God’s element. The only surest and the primary element is good preparation. Every other thing comes next. If you pray and fast for 10years, without attending interview, you won’t get visa. Even your pastors prepare all night to attend interviews. Some of them are still denied.

Another valid point…
oluezekiel:
Unfortunately, he's not an antichrist.

Most times, we don't understand religion. That's why it is very easy for the so-called religious people to abandon the church/mosque and other religious activities after spending some years in western countries. They realised that the basic things they prayed for while in Nigeria require only their preparations and efforts.
I've met with people who were campus fellowship presidents and executive members while in Nigeria but have stopped attending church all together. All they do now is work, pay bills, exercise, etc and sleep.

Most people pray in Nigeria because things are not normal. So they believe everything requires some terrestrial powers.
We need a better understanding of religion.

PS.: I don't doubt the place of favor and mercy.

Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Swerveking14: 11:38pm On Nov 27, 2021
Very valid….I move
TWoods:

That's silly. I'm a believer... I however do not recognize the Nigerian form of religiosity that is simply for show. It's the type of religiosity that sees fraudulent Nigerian politicians given the chief seats in the pews of your churches, where your "pastors" are multi-billionaires in a nation where >80% struggle to feed. The type of religiosity that sees Nigeria house the largest church on earth, while most live in abject squalor. The type of religiosity that thinks those who obtain a visa are "blessed" by God, ignoring the millions who will never earn enough to be able to afford a cab to the US embassy. What "god" do you think they pray to? Or did John 3:16 only include those who are lucky enough to lie their way into obtaining a US visa?

The fake religiosity is nauseating.

MiamiePizza:

I'm not in for argument with you, I'm gonna ignore you after this reply. Stay there, people are getting admitted in schools in this state. Make I bust your brain, I got a first hand info from a Missourian, took my time to do my research and I'm sharing this here so others could gain but you come here dey cap careless. Wetin person no know him dey ask ni.

Share updates, no be dis one wey you dey do so.
You said I'm lying abeg where I lie?
Say Missouri isn't poor or the crime rate in the state is high or houses isn't cheap in Missouri or the schools there are not giving out admissions like breakup?

I submitted application to Missouri S&T and I got an email from the school with link to complete my application in less than 24hrs. Asked me to submit all required documents and get my admission decision in 2weeks.

Two of my cousins already got admission to schools in this state with scholarship (Missouri S&T and Missouri state university) you dey there dey say I dey cap vertical.

Nothing concerns Embassy with the school u wanna go to, do u deserve the visa? can you take care of yourself? Care you pay the tuition and will u come back to naija and “all other things you filled in your ds160” is their own concern. I believe that school has an international student office and the take student from different countries every year. Just that whoever is going there “Na bush the school Dey o, it’s a white state and it’s typically boring there. You could even be the only black student there lol
Approvalissure:

I believe Nigerians have being rejected with the school. Not so sure though
