Family / Re: Who Else Has A Permanent Scar From Childhood And Where? by Swissheart(f): 2:42pm On Aug 19, 2020
poshestmina:
Emotional scar.
Growing up in a violent and bitter atmosphere.

Parents always at each other's neck ,new day,new wahala.
I remember days my dad chased us out with cutlass, locked us out, threatened to burn my senior siblings certificates, starved us ,beat up my mom right before us. cry cry cry and she didn't want to leave because of us and zero finances.

The only escape route was getting admission and leaving the house .I barely visited home all through my school days and my family house was less than 500 naira to and fro.

Left for service and never looked back (on very FEW occasions) till it was time for me to marry.

I'd rather raise happy kids as a single mother than having my kids(s) go through the hell I came from.
He's old now and we take care of both of them .
But no LOVE whatsoever! .
Just paying him back for at least sponsoring our education .
Nothing more! sad sad
shocked
I couldn't bare to read and move on without commenting. Are they still married? I don't know why some parents are like that. My parents never fought each other to hitting themselves. The fiercest i saw was dad pouring the tea he was drinking on my mom. It was scary that you'll think it was acid he poured. I am sorry you had to go through all that. I really hate that thing our mothers say about staying back because of the kids.

Scar ehn...... Mr Anthony of All Stars Nursery and Primary school, Ojodu made another pupil draw my ear for over 20mins. It got so bad that I landed in the hospital and my ears never remained the same

God!!!
I understand your pain but what keepingmum has written up there is the truth. I couldn't bear to write it, what was why i prayed that God soothes her pain. Pls take care of your mom and make her comfortable( she'll start to complain alot, don't be fed-up. Move her legs, hands whenever she wants you to)

Be by her side. Pray and sing with her. Try not to spend all the money you have gathered. You'll need it. Prepare for it as bravely as possible. You wouldn't want to be mourning and be financially helpless at the same time. Brace up for this. Does she have a younger sibling around? You'll need people around.

God will take care of you and your dad. He'll soothe your mom's pain

Martinez39s:
Don't be sneaky. If you want a maternity test, you have the right to get such and you don't need your husband's permission. The child is yours just as the child is his, except the DNA result says otherwise. When it comes to buying gifts for your children, do you and your husband take permission from each other even though the children belong to both of you?

Don't be sneaky. If the house the family resides in belongs to the man, it's his house, not yours or the kids. If you women built and owned the house, you people will never ever talk of "our house." The same applies to properties and in whose name they were bought. It's only foolish men that play the "our" game with women.

Anyway, we can agree to disagree.
really? Okay then
Family / Re: Dna Test For Baby by Swissheart(f): 3:37pm On Aug 03, 2020
Martinez39s:
You are right that DNA test isn't a big deal and every father ought to get it done on his kid(s). However, there is nothing wrong if your husband does the test behind your back. It's his right to ascertain the paternity of his kids, and he doesn't need anyone's permission.
are you serious about this? Are you married? Do you know what it means to be married? To be joined as one, do you know that he has the same rights on the kids as mine. Do you also know that the DNA test we are running on our kids isn't just to ascertain paternity? We also would love to have it on record that I am their mother, that our kids weren't exchanged at birth.

Now, there is nothing like I in marriage, there is nothing like mine in marriage, it is ours. Our kids, our DNA, our relatives, our properties ( even the ones we both got before marriage). If you aren't married pls make sure you understand the basic rudiments of marriage so you can be happy

I don't understand why people think it is wrong to run DNA test on their children. It was one of the things my spouse and I discussed. I told him we would run a DNA test on our kids just like genotype test.

It's no big deal and for me it has nothing to do with trust however I wont take it lightly if my husband does it on my kids behind me.

Op, you can run the test immediately a child is born but please let the mother know
