I'm not saying you should be with him out of pity but if you wanna break up with him let it be on a coherent and rational reason(like you don't love him anymore),otherwise you have skeletons in your cupboard,and to think this is the time he actually needs you more than anything else as a companion and someone to confide in.....you're talking break up!

If you break up with him now will you also come back when the going gets good for this unfortunate chap?...as for him saying he'll commit suicide,I'd call his bluff,however you could still trick him and lick his chops!! (just to know what he'll do,suicide ko)
