I bought my first car at the age of 29yrs. A 2000 model Honda accord(a.k.a baby boy)at the price of 1.4M. |
I ended up in my desired industry but not my desired profession, though both my desired profession and current one are very related.( Petroleum Engineering-desired, Geology-current). |
smartchoice: for example is Ike Uche hotter than Obafemi Martins in Spain currently? No!Tribalism. Pure Beaf. The Yorubas are not doing well as footballers. Go hug transformer. |
12large1: The reason why I took Kenneth out of first 11 is strictly because of height super eagles was not the best at set piece we need height there at the backU mean defending set pieces? That your Eguekwe is no where as a defender near Omeruo. Omeruo is a modern full back. Did you particularly watch his movements passes during the AFCON? Except you are a tribalist, your Taye Taiwo and Haruna Lukman should nt be on that line-up |
Hmmm... Romantic.... |

I dnt know about others but the figures for the Oil and Gas is incorrect. There is a wide variation of oil workers: Indegenous servicing firms, Indegenous E & P, Indegenous products Marketing, multinational Servicing, Multinational E & P, multinational product marketing, Petrochemicals, LNG, Government agencies etc. These categories offer a wide range of pay packages which is also a factor of years of experience. Believe u me some earn as low 1Million per annum and some take as much as 20Million per annum. That is how wide it is. |

Syenite: The following guys should be given a fair chance:This list can even form another 11 for the national team lol! Nigeria is full of talents. We are only second to Brazil! |
The following guys should be given a fair chance: Sydney Sam, Victor Anichebe, Obafemi Martins, Shola Ameobi, Taiye Taiwo Joel Obi, Obinna Nsofor Sonne Aluko. People that should not come near the national team for now: Osaze Odemwingie, Dele Ayenugba Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Sani Keita, Danny Shittu, Chinedu Ogbuike |
Dn't mind Odegbami, His toothless team of the 80's could nt even qualify Nigeria for the world cup. He is speaking in the past. |
Oh Moses forgive us as a nation. Just like how the biblical Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt so you will lead Nigeria out of South Africa with the AFCON Trophy on Sunday. We believe it is our time. |

@ ihedioramma, Wrong! We beat them 3-0 in 2001, 1-0 in AFCON 2002 and 1-0 in AFCON 2006. I supported Burkina Faso cos i dnt want them (Ghana) to rub shoulders anywhere near us. Let them play a loser's final while we play for the title. I dnt care if Burkina beats us or not. Better to lose to Burkina than to lose to those loud and foul mouthed Ghanaians. |
Go and bury your head in shame together with your hungry looking and dwarf by nature black stars. Who wan dash u final? |
He remains one of Nigeria's most gifted Musicians. He is in the Class of Fela, Lagbaja, Oliver the Coque, Victor Uwaifo and Osadebe. Tu-FACE and his generation no near these ones. |
He sang "Redemption song" argueably better than Bob Marley. Two of his other songs I liked as a kid were "Send down the Rain" and "Mama Tete Oyoyo". |
k2039: Ok sir.Your father will disown you for this statement cos u are a disappointment. |
k2039: Ok sir.People like you are a big dissapointment. |

As ugly as the rest of you arrogant Ghanaians. You will not play the final. Burkina will deal with you. |
k2039: He wrote the nake;d and bitter truth. You are a fool!!!. So if some1 publicly insults your parents and family. This is the type of comment you will make abi? |
My first Nations Cup experience was Maroc '88. I was a primary 4 pupil of Sari Iganmu Primary School, Lagos. I was admitted in Lagos University Teaching hospital (LUTH),haven undergoing an eye surgery. The Green Eagles of Nigeria were to play a highly fancied Kenyan side who just won the all African games football Gold medal a year before. The only TV then in hospital ward was faulty. So we had to listen to Ernest Okonkwo's (RIP) commentaries on radio. I remember how we would shout as the commentator screamed it isss a gooaaaallll!! The nurses on duty that night would come and threaten us. I was in the children's ward, we all left our beds to sit next to a boy who was bigger than the rest of us that came with a pocket radio. I remember Rashidi Yekini(RIP) scored twice that night. We won the game 3-0. Our next match was against Cameroun. That was the day i was discharged. I journeyed home after spending 1month in admission at LUTH. I rememeber how my siblings and compound friends rushed to hug me screaming my name. I managed to watch the last few minutes of the game against Cameroun. We were under heavy attack from the Camerounians. It was a 1-1 draw. The 3rd match was against the Defending champions Egypt who needed a win but Nigeria needed a draw. I remember how the Egyptians bombarded our 18yards box with shots and crosses towards the dying moments of the game.I remember Bright Omokaro's role in that game as a defender. Egypt played us o.It ended 0-0. Nigeria fished second in the group behind Cameroun who defeated Egypt 1-0 and Kenya 1-0. Came the semis and we faced Algeria. I can never forget that game. Sam Okwaraji(RIP) scored first through deflection on a Algerian defender. I remember how he opened his mouth shouting goooaaallll raising one hand up and his team mates raced after him. Algeria equalised in the second half after a Nigerian player was given a red card. I remember once again Bright Omokaro's role in that game. It was 10players of Nigeria against 11players of Algeria. It was late in the game and Algeria had already made all 3 changes same with Nigeria. Omokaro committed a professional foul on an Algerian. He was stretchered out and Could not continue the game. Omokaro shouted 10-10!Which became his Nickname to date.Algeria played the rest of the game with 10men just like Nigeria. Nigeria won on penalties. Peter Rufai was in goal for Nigeria and Nasir Udeen for Algeria. It was like 9-8 or 10-9 on penalties or something. We played Cameroun in the final and lost through Emmanuel Kunde'e well taken penalty.1-0 was the final score. We won silver. I have not missed any AFCON since then even in 1996, and 1998 that we were banned. |
puskin: U missed some few minor wordz, . . . . letz complete it now!!!! But U were a true fan of Voltron. . . . . . just like ME.Oh Boy you too much! You beat me to it. As I was reading those words the Voltron music was playing in my mind. lol! Good childhood memories growing up in the 80s and 90s was fun. |
I give you 3 scenerios here: 1) For porpose of gaining admission: Engineering is better or easier. Lower cut-off compared with Medicine. There are several engineering courses: Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Civil, Petroleum, Chemical, Metalurgical & Materials, Mining, Computer, Production etc. That requires u to take English, Maths, Chemistry and Physics in Jamb. If u dnt get a particular engineering course of choice u can have option of other engineering courses and also sciences like Geology, Geophysics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics etc, bc they also take Maths, Chemistry and Physics as Jamb requirements. However if u apply for Medicine, u take English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, if u dnt get Medicine u will have other options like: Pharmacy, Biochemistry,Geology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology etc. U can see that engineering has better alternatives 2) Engineering is more lucrative in Nigeria than Medicine but Medical doctors are more likely to secure jobs or get self employed. In engineering u can hit it big or u can also live a frustrated life of Joblessness, brain drain or underemployment. 3) The 3rd scenerio has been stated by Lagusta. In my time I applied for Chemical engineering but landed in Geology. I am a Geologist today working with a major Oil Company. THE CHOICE IS YOURS. |
