darknez: Another nice story attributed to Einstein but I fail to see the relevance of the story. Definitions or an ability to carry out an objective study of an 'item' does not determine what exists or not; otherwise we could say that God does not exist based on the same principles he applied.
My question to you is yet unanswered. Really? That's not true, for the existence of God is proven Objectively by studying the effects to arrive at the cause. However you may want to tell me then what determines what exists? So I can know how darkness is covered by it. |

Ubenedictus: thanks for giving me ur date, i would have no problem if you pick a psalm for me. I guess there are no laws that says I can't have 3 psalms instead of 2.
Anyway, I'll chose ps 19, i'll fight the temptation to add ps 20. Oliver... is that you? |

darknez: Shift small make I also join your soliloquy...
If darkness is brought to the realm of nothingness, we necessarily imply that darkness does not exist, just like nothing implies the nonexistence of something; thus creating a logical conflict with the bold.
It will be an oxymoron of some sought to say " real nothing". If "darkness" is not a thing, then it should follow that darkness is as unreal as nothing.
Wow, I didn't realize that soliloquizing can be so much fun. How did I miss this? I will post something for you, an interesting conversation... : The university professor challenged his students with this question. “Did God create everything that exists?” A student bravely replied, “Yes, He did!” “God created everything?” The professor asked. “Yes sir”, the student replied. The professor answered, “If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil”. The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor was quite pleased with him self and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth. Another student raised his hand and said, “Can I ask you a question professor?” “Of course”, replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, “Professor does cold exist?” “What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?” The students snickered at the young man’s question. The young man replied, “In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat.” The student continued, “Professor, does darkness exist?” The professor responded, “Of course it does.” The student replied, “Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, we can use Newton’s prism to break white light into colors to study the various wavelengths of each color. You can not measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn’t this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present.”
Finally the young man asked the professor, “Sir, does evil exist?” Now uncertain, the professor responded, “Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man’s inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.” To this the student replied, “Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God’s love present in his heart. It’s like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.” The professor sat down.

Tomorrow 10th May, we start this novena and we are praying specially for kamsified.
Novena prayers
O God, infinite beauty. Wretched as we are, we approach in humility your throne, with thanksgiving and pettition. Thanksgiving for the numerous mercies received from you, and petition for the many needs that weigh heavily on us. Look kindly upon our prayers, especially that of kamsified who we pray for today, and of mine(you may add yours), through the merits of the passion of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for us dearest mother Mary, as we offer you this ten roses of hail mary, with eyes filled with hope and fillial love. Amen.
10 Hail Marys.
Psalm 138 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame. When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me. May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord, when they hear what you have decreed. May they sing of the ways of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord is great. Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me. The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands.
Special request...Psalm 121.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
May the good Lord look kindly on us as we pray dear brethren.
Glory to Jesus. Honor to Mary. |
