@Sen.tempest, I do not know exactly what you want, however no matter what it is, do not ask God to help you get pregnant via fornication, it is a typical example of the prayer of a sinner which is an abomination unto God. There is grace that comes with matrimony, for it is a sacrament "outward sign of inward grace..." My suggestion is re-evaluate that relationship, flee fornication, then pray for direction. If he is the one, and you are both healthy, get wedded.

Penance, and co that Catholics practice are just the doctrines of men.

They seem nice to do cause doing them requires much but you all forget to realize that these things have little or no effect on your spirit and your spiritual walk with God.

Dear VickyO, I once tried to engage you on some catholic teaching in another thread, but you decided that neither of us is going to accept the other's view and so we ended. Now you come to my dormain, a place I take repose in the company of my brethren in same faith, to bring up arguments. We are never afraid of enlightening or explaining our faith. Rich4god: You are getting it wrong... St Monica was praying for the conversion of Augustine and not penance... So are the other saints you mentioned. Praying for some one to repent is totaly different from making penance on behalf of someone. That is why even you yourself, you cannot do/make penenace of any form except you have repented and your are truely sorry for your sins.

St. Monica fasted for her son, that is penance. Cure de ars wore a hair shirt for sinners, that is penance. The monks sleep on bare wood, that is penance. Except I am missing something, even prayers can be penance.

Rich4god: Yes you can... But doing it for an unrepentant person is like pouring water on a rock... Its best you jst pray for the person.

hmm, You may want to tell St. Monica that...she almost gave up her life to get her "unrepentant" son to conversion. You may want to tell St. theresa of the child Jesus that...she did penance till an unrepentant thief kissed the crucifix in contrition before he was hanged. You may want to tell the monks and nuns, they still suffer for this "unrepentant" world. You never know when repentance will occur, it is good to continue every good work.

The saints in heaven are "confirmed" righteous, their prayers availeth much. Let them join their's to mine as we proceed together boldly before the throne.
