Who says you need the North blessing? Put forward an all-Southern ticket let us see what happens. It has never been tried before. Bill Clinton and Al Gore were both from the South guess what they won the Presidency not once but twice. All political pundits were of the mindset that will never work. Insanity is us doing the same shit every time and hoping it will somehow work. I thing its time we against the grain let us try an all Southern ticket trust me this will be a nightmare for the North.

And yorubas love igbos that's why they refused supporting igbos in 2023 even after igbos supported their son to become president.

Like sanusi said, Yorubas are the problem of Nigeria, they need to be removed from Nigeria and merged with their siblings s in Togo and Benin republic for Nigeria to develop
Partner don't be short-sighted. An all-Southern ticket can be Yoruba/Igbo or Igbo/Yoruba either way you are still on the ticket. Being either number 1 or number 2 is better than a no-show position. Don't know if you bet on horses. A show ticket still wins rather than a no-show ticket.

Oga shut up!!?

Yorubas are the ones who hates everyone in Nigeria, they betrayed southern Nigeria hoping to get the presidency in 2023 due to their wickedness and greediness.

Everyone in the south supported your son to become president but yorubas can't do the same for others.

They want to use blackmail now to make the rest of southerners to support them, instead of a Yoruba man will become president in 2023, let it go to the north.

I'm even happy that atiku won the PDP ticket, let's see how Yorubas will vote Tinubu or osibanjo to power
Then don't you ever complain about marginalization again. Okay my brother.

You have captured it aptly. This is one of the reasons why he hasn't dared contest for governorship position of his state.

If Tinibu emerges, he will end up picking a Muslim as his running mate. Its not what we need but its what will sell his candidacy to the region that matters the most in election
That is a mindset that is outdated on its face. Put up a consensus candidate from the South and the North can't do anything about it. The issue is to find a consensus southern candidate. The issue of grievances between the Yoruba and Igbo is what is holding that country back. The Northerner knows this that's why they are always playing both tribes against each other. Geography alone should make this very clear the North is land-lock meaning they don't have access to the ocean. Show me a landlocked country in the world that is prosperous. The whole North is an alliance away from being irrelevant.

Ronald Regan once said that someone I agree with 70% of the time is a friend. After reading your comment now I know why the Igbo people will permanently reside in the wilderness when it comes to politics in that country. In order to achieve one's goal in politics, one needs an alliance. Igbo don't like Yoruba. Igbo don't like Fulani, and Fulani doesn't like Igbo. Who does the Igbo like? Maybe Igbo is the problem.

Oga, he's not the owner of the truck so he definitely doesn't make that.

Also, please truck drivers don't even make up to $90k per year and even if that is a possibility it is still very rare.

They could make anywhere between $39k to $60k tho so no matter how you try to rationalize this , he's still isn't capable of giving those kids a proper life
Partner if you don't have any idea how an industry work please don't say anything. Drivers working in final mile segments of logistics make over 50k. In case you wondering what is the final mile. When goods come into a fulfillment warehouse, those Amazon, UPS, and FedEx vans you see dropping off your items at houses are called the final mile Distributing ordered items from the warehouse to your house. Now Big rigs drivers, are the drivers that transport goods from the Ports to the fulfillment warehouses those people are either Owner-operators or direct TMS drivers. Direct operators get paid per load/state segment contract. They make over 200K, I know that for a fact. TMS drivers are paid per mile driven @ 69C per mile. The TMS company, for example Werner, ODL and Summit submit load bid at $1.15 per mile, they then pay their driver @ 69c per mile. I design/write business application programs for various logistic companies. I know what I am talking about.

guy you think say na like Nigeria minimum wage after 30 days suffering for 30k? Lol...Nigerians are literally paid 1k per day as per wages requirement, whereas people over there are pai d per hour. A truck driver earning per hour wages cannot be compared to someone earning 1k per day assuming we are using minimum wage as our premise to determine strength of disposable income. So check m you too.
I tell you how much. He is probably a owner-operated truck driver if that is the case he probably makes between 100k - 200K a year. If he's not then he gets paid 69c for every mile he drives plus a differential on load pick up. give or take 90K a year. Truck drivers are always driving from states to states that's how he met all those women

sumboty:
I read some comments and I laff,
500k per Month
6m per annum

Now let's do small analysis
Has a family man of 4 in family husband & wife and 2 kids
For feeding, let's say minimum 50k monthly
= 600k per annum..
School fees, 2 kids @ 150k per term
= 900k per annum,
NHIS family health plan 7,500 per month
= 90k per annum
House rent 600k per annum
NEPA bills on prepare meter 10k card per month
= 120k per annum
Let's say you have a car, or not 25k per month
= 300k per annum
Other expenses 20k per month
= 240k per annum
Miscellaneous per month 10k per month
= 120k per annum

Total = 2.97m let's round it up 3m
Giving additional spending of 500k to the above analysis making 3.5m spending per annum, then you have 2.5m balance as savings x in 5yrs = 12.5m
In 10yrs = 25m

Also take in mind, that 2.5m savings per annum can still increase if other business is involve.....

The above analysis is just an average assumption..

What I've noticed about many of us in Nigeria is that most of us want to get rich in a day or in one single business deal or investment.
Forgetting Rome wasn't built in a Day....
Hummm Thanks for the analysis. Think I can retire in 5 yrs and start taking Social Security @ 62 monthly payment $1987 plus $4000 per month in 401k. Making it close to $6000. House paid for, Kids all grown. That means I can live large in Nigeria. Why freaking wait until 65!!!

Until people in Nigeria start asking questions nothing will change in that Country. Banks making ridiculous amounts within a 3 months period based on capitalization that's one-tenth of a typical Credit Union here in the USA. Going to let you on a little secret the main source of revenue with a Nigerian bank is reverse Forex transactions. They buy Forex example dollar @ 410 then sell to BDE @ mark up the value of 570. It doesn't take a genius to see the profit that even blind Steve Wonder can see. When forex went up from 378 to 410 CBN explanation had to do with the price of crude oil which at that time was selling at $45 per barrel. Now that crude oil price is at over $100 per barrel how comes the Forex price is still going up.

Nairaland General › Re: 14 Things That Cause Regret At Old Age! by t2luv1: 2:53pm On May 25, 2022
Akinpedia:
When younger we make various choice's without the future in mind. Sometimes those choices bite us in our mid-life. These are some of the things one might regret when they're older.

1. *Marrying the wrong person*

When you're young, check your motives for marrying. Don't marry to copy your peers, or for social standing or out of pressure.

Marry for love and companionship, marry the right person, marry your best friend. For if you marry the wrong person or for the wrong reasons, you will have to put up with that person the rest of your life.

Things might get worse between you two; then depression, physical abuse, affairs, pain, shame, court cases, bitterness will define your mid-life years all because you chose the wrong one.

Things will get worse when children are involved. Make the right choice of a spouse when you are young.

2. *The opportunities you did not seize*

When you are younger many doors will open, you will get many chances. Many young people let these opportunities go because of fear, laziness, or pride; yet well younger and with more energy is the best time to start a venture and a name for yourself.

Some think the opportunities are too big for them. Take advantage of them or one day when you're older you will want to go back and grab those missed chances.

3. *The bridges you burned*

When we are younger, we care little for relationships, what most think about is getting money and moving up the ladder of success at all cost.

Many use and trample on people to progress, they take relationships for granted, messing up bonds, sleeping with people for personal gain.

But these bad actions will catch up with you ahead. When you will realize how empty life is without love and friends. When you will have success but no one around you or no one to trust you.

4. *The child you aborted*

You are a young lady, you get pregnant and you are scared. You take the aborting option quickly thinking of that moment then. But when you are much older, you will look back and wish you kept that baby.

When you will be rich and successful you will wish that child you gave up on would be around to enjoy the fruits of your hard work. Being a single mother doesn't mean you can't make it in life or you can't find a man in future.

5. *The child you rejected*

Young man, you impregnated a woman, she told you she's pregnant with your child. You rejected her and the baby and ran. But years later when you're 50 something, you will wish you were responsible, you will wish you manned up and became a father to that child.

You will see that child excel and become an adult but will have no claim to that grown child who you rejected from the beginning. You will regret being a Dead Beat Dad by choice

6. *The marriage you destroyed*

So you get married to your good fiance; the first months in marriage were good but shortly after, with your money and charm, you started having affairs. You became unfaithful.

Your spouse begged you to stop, your children started hurting, your marriage was collapsing. One day when you are older, it will hit you how foolish you were to destroy the good marriage you had began to build for mere temporary thrills in affairs that did you no good. You will realize the damage you caused to your children and spouse.

7. *The God you disowned*

When you are much older you become wiser, God becomes more real as you see life in a more meaningful way. But don't wait to get older to start enjoying a relationship with God.

Know God when you are young, build your future with God. Don't be a young rebel who runs back to God when age catches up.

8. *The body you messed up*

You have only one body to live with all your life. The cigarettes, the alcohol you are abusing, the drugs you are taking, the unhealthy food you're consuming; all that will destroy you slowly.

When you are 50 and lifestyle diseases catch up with you, you will wish you took care of your body when younger, that you exercised more; but now the damage is done.

9. *The time you wasted*

The time you are wasting when younger in worry, wrong relationships, laziness, being a couch potato, giving excuses and pursuing meaningless things; you will never get it back.

10. *The dreams and talents you shelved*

Are you talented when young; are there things you love to do and you are good at them?

Nurture those talents, exploit them, don't give up even if you encounter set backs, don't give up on your dreams. If you give up, when you're older you will look at your peers who stuck to what they love and made it and think to yourself,

"That could have been me". Pursue a career, study a course you love. Don't waste years of your life in a field that doesn't fulfill you.

11 *The name you defamed*

When you are older, a legacy is very important, the value of your name is crucial. You will ask yourself what is your reputation,

what are you leaving behind?

Your legacy is a sum total of your actions since youthful days. We write our biography by how we live life everyday. When you look back your path and you see the mud you threw at your own name, the shame you attracted and the little value you have added to the world; you will regret.

12. *The wealth you threw away*

Are you riding on good money during your productive years?
Earning good money?

Don't throw away that money in clubs, reckless living and wasteful shopping. Invest with that money, widen your revenue stream, make that money work for you and keep it safe to take care of you in your older years. Leave an inheritance for your loved ones so that you will never say "I wish I knew better"

13. *The good love that got away*

Is there that great person in your life loving you good?

Don't push that person away, or else that person will walk out your life and you will never ever find someone that incredible and who connects with you all your life. It will torment you to grow older with thoughts of "What if I was still with that person?"

14 *The parents you despised*

When younger, it is easy to show contempt to your parents; what do your parent's know?

They are old-fashioned, shady and small -minded. But your parents are still your parents whether you agree with them or not, whatever their style.

Don't let your parent die or age separated from you, reconcile and make up. When you get older, you will realize why your parents wanted to be close to you. The older you get, the more you see the value.

Time waits for no one.
Treasure every moment you have

Thanks for reading

If you are rich, the best place to spend your money & have rest of mind without thinking of too much taxation to me is still Nigeria.
Apart from the fact you are a into Medicine, Nursing or I.T which pay well abroad, 90% of the time it's actually frustration, unemployment & lack of opportunities in Nigeria that make people try to travel out of the country.
I have a friend who spent more than 2 million Naira trying to aquire a U.S Visa. Few weeks to the day he was supposed to fly to the U.S, he got a job of 500K per month in Umuahia.
Immediately my guy abandoned all the plans he had of traveling out, plus the 2 million he had already spent & Immediately accepted the job.
Now he's doing well, just bought a Car & is already planning on building a house & settling down.
He no longer even thinks of leaving the country again.
The devil you know, is better than the angel you don't know.
A lot of people still went to the U.S & flopped big time.
Moving back to Nigeria is not the issue. The issue is the quality of life that awaits one. Everything being consider I stay my ass in Florida. Why Florida 1. No snow (warm temperature year-round) 2. No personal income tax. 3. Like going on my boat to fish.
