Crime › Re: Pastor Elisha Nadoya Mizigo Stabs Wife And Kills Himself In Kenya by taf4u4me(m): 9:13pm On Jan 06, 2020 |
tstx: A Kenyan pastor has stabbed his wife several times before turning the knife on himself inside a church they founded together in Mombasa.
Pastor Elisha Nadoya Mizigo of Goods for God’s Gospel Ministries left several notes accusing his wife of adultery and plotting to dispossess him of church property.
He stabbed his wife in the back and hand before stabbing himself in the chest and neck.
The attack happened yesterday at the pulpit while the service was going on.
“She has been involved in love affairs with young men in the church...I hustled from mkokoteni (cart) pushing and we slowly bought the plot after we took some loan from a local bank,” read the suicide note.
“After a lot of struggle, we progressed well in life and were even blessed with children and then began amassing wealth and property, including owning a church. However, at some point, my wife started to betray me. She went behind my back and took control of all what we had gotten in 19 years without my prior knowledge.
“She even took away the parcel of land where the church stands, including church furniture and equipment and even had me arrested. My wife also subjected me to insults. I was not allowed to see my children. Today I have killed her.”
Eyewitnesses said the church was aware of feuds between the couple.
“There were several attempts to reconcile the two who are parents of four children. Things never worked well and since last year Pastor Elisha stopped coming to church after they fell out with his wife,” Peter Kimbada, who serves as the church treasurer said.
He explained that sometimes in 2018, Elisha caused a commotion that led to the destruction of church equipment.
“The church made a formal complaint at the Kiembeni Police Post where he was detained. From then on, Elisha stopped coming to our church. We only saw him today before he made good his threat and stabbed Anna, who was reciting a prayer at the pulpit,” he said.
“He stood up and approached Anna as if he was handing over something to her. But to the utter shock of the congregation, he drew a sharp knife and stabbed her,” he said.
The pastor’s wife died at the Coast Provincial General Hospital while the pastor’s lifeless body lay on the pulpit before it was taken to the mortuary by police.

We continue with our series cost of rent around in Nigeria, Today we look at Plateau state
Plateau state is a state in Nigeria. It is approximately located at the centre of the country with its capital city as Jos. It is geographically unique in Nigeria because its boundaries totally surround the Jos Plateau, having the Jos Plateau totally in its central and northern part. Plateau State is popularly known as "The Home of Peace and Tourism". Plateau State gets its name from the Jos Plateau. It has a population of about 3.5 million people.
Plateau is bound by Bauchi state in the north east, Kaduna state in the north west, Nasarawa in the south west and Taraba in the south east. Plateau State is a middle belt state in Nigeria. The state has an area of about 26,899 square kilometres. Plateau state is named after the picturesque Jos Plateau, a mountainous area in the north of the state with captivating rock formations. Bare rocks are scattered across the grasslands, which cover the plateau. The altitude ranges from around 1,200 meters (about 4000 feet) to a peak of 1,829 metres above sea level in the Shere Hills range near Jos. Years of tin mining have also left the area strewn with deep gorges and lakes.

Politics › Re: Finance Bill: New Tax Regime To Take Effect From Jan 2 – FG by taf4u4me(m): 7:56pm On Nov 28, 2019 |
nwakibie3: The much-debated and anticipated new tax regime expected to fund the 2020 budget and restructure tax administration in Nigeria will take effect from the 2nd of January next year.
According to Punch, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, in a panel session at the PwC Executive Session on Finance Bill and Tax Strategy, the bill would be revised yearly as the Federal Government is planning to grow the ratio of revenue to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 6% to 15% by 2023, with a greater percentage of revenue coming from non-oil sources.
The minister disclosed that the long-term goal of the bill is to stabilize the Nigerian economy, reducing the reliance of the foreign exchange earned from oil receipts. The government plans to engage stakeholders annually and ensure their opinions reflect on the outcome of the deliberations in the finance bill.
“One of the biggest challenges of all is our high dependence on oil for our economic activities, fiscal revenues and foreign exchange earnings. In 2016, Nigeria fell into recession due to its vulnerability to oil. Although the oil and gas sector accounted for just about 10% of the GDP, it represented 94% of export earnings and 62% of government revenues (federal and state) in 2011-2015,” Ahmed said.
However, Mrs Ahmed stated that the narrative is changing when it comes to the country’s reliance on oil receipts, even in the presence of high unemployment and poverty levels. The government stated that its desires are to see the country’s revenue to GDP ratio hit 15% by 2023 and tax to GDP ratio growth over 6% recorded in 2018.
“This narrative is changing but we still have much more to do to get to our desired revenue to GDP ratio of 15% by 2023, which we anticipate to come from non-oil revenues. We must grow our tax to GDP ratio from the current six per cent as of 2018.
“Tho the Nigerian economy is characterised by structural challenges that limit the country’s ability to sustain economic growth, create more jobs and achieve significant poverty reduction,” said Ahmed.
Mrs Ahmed stated that based on the non-oil revenue performance as of June 2019, the country was on track to further improve the tax to GDP ratio, although Nigeria is still below the sub-Saharan Africa average of about 19%.
Upshot:The bill is expected to stimulate growth in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) space, ultimately drive increased growth rate for the economy and ease business operations, alleviating the regulatory burdens for SMEs.

TheSkyIsBlue: My Sister Is About To Commit A Serious Taboo All In The Name Of Marriage
Hello Nairalanders!
Please ignore any typographical or grammatical error. I just want to pour it out the way it is in my heart.
I am seriously confused and worried about what is happening in my family and I will appreciate your candid advice.
There is this guy my sister has been in a relationship with for over seven years now. so he actually asked her hand in marriage and decided to come see my parents for introduction, about some months ago. My family decided to take their time to find out more about the guys family background as is required in Igbo tradition.
After several questions asked, my family came to find out that the guy is an Osu (an outcast). On knowing this, everybody in my family told my sister to cut ties with him and discontinue the relationship because it is a big taboo to get married to an Osu in my place . If you do, no family member or friend will attend your wedding or even have anything to do with you again.
But my sister refused to listen to anybody claiming she really loves the guy, that they have been together for a very long time and that she is not getting younger anymore (mind you, she is in her early thirties). Everybody (my parents and extended family members) tried to talk her out of it but she still didn't listen.
After much pressure and her continues insistence, my dad decided to give them his blessings, although against his wish (my dad is actually not really deep into tradition). Now the guy has done all the traditional rights and paid for her dowry. Their wedding is coming up soon.
But the problem now is, according to tradition and from what I heard, if she was allowed to go with the guy without my dad giving them his blessings, the stigma would have just been on her and she alone would have been considered Osu, since she insisted to continue with the marriage. But now that my dad has given them his blessings, it is considered that all of us (her siblings) will also have that link of Osu too. Except if she decide to put an end to the relationship and discontinue with the wedding, which I don't think my sister is ready to do.
I am really worried and depressed about it, cause I don't want anything that will affect me tomorrow when I want to get married just because of my sister's mistakes.
I will really like to get opinions and sincere advice especially from those that are familiar with tradition, cause I'm seriously bothered. Thanks! I could not believe that some people are still fucking primitive until I set my golden eyes on this thread.hmmm, some families sha |

coolguy4christ: My girlfriend and I had issues sometime last year which eventually led to a break up. Early this year, we made up. I initiated the make up because I still loved her even though, it was she who ended the relationship.
When we started again, I told her I wanted a fresh start and that she should come out clean with me of whatever I need to know when we were apart. She knows how much I emphasize sincerity as I hate lies. She confided in me, that she had sex with a guy whom she dated briefly when we were apart but that she used protection. I believed her and didn't really bother myself because we were not together when it happened.
Few months later, I proposed to her and she accepted my marriage proposal. Since then, the relationship has been beautiful and we have become better as we were previously before the break up. We are actually planning our wedding in a few months.
Yesterday, she confessed to me that she had an abortion while we were apart. That she lied about using protection and that she got pregnant and aborted the baby.
Since then, I have mixed feelings for her:
Firstly, I am strongly against abortion and she knows that. Secondly, She lied to me!
The second reason is actually why I am more angry with her. She has lied to me previously and I don't know if I can believe and trust her again.
She has been very remorseful and she told me she came out clean because she wants to set everything right before we get married.
The issue here is that I don't know how can I trust her again? bros she didn't lie to you... after all she confessed that she had sex with another guy when you were apart,so what else...Infact she's a legend |

itspzpics: A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ilorin, on Monday,November 18th ordered that an applicant, Osaghae Osaigbovo, who allegedly impersonated a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, be remanded in a correctional facility, Praizenews report.
The Chief Magistrate, Ahmed Ibrahim, gave the order after the defendant pleaded not guilty to criminal trespass and forgery. He then adjourned the case until Dec. 3 for further mention. Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Nasir Yusuf told the court that the case was reported by Mr. Tota George, Assistant Director of NYSC Camp, Yikpata, Kwara on Nov. 8, at the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) Ilorin.
Yusuf alleged that the accused, while posing as a prospective corps member, presented a fake Batch “C”, call-up letter, with number NYSC/AUP/2019/01546. He also said that the defendant presented a fake registration slip and job list with forged signatures.
The prosecutor said that the defendant was arrested while trying to collect an NYSC kit from the platoon inspector, Mrs. Adewoye Lara at NYSC camp, Yikpata. Yusuf said that the investigation revealed that the defendant forged his notification of Higher National Diploma (HND) result of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo.
The prosecutor said that investigation also revealed that Osaigbovo was a notorious criminal, who specialises in forging documents. Yusuf said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 348 and 364 of the Penal Code.
