[quote author=folabiola post=79856911]You download the form, fill it offline, attach copy of your transcript, BSc certificate, admission letter into Msc, o'level result, recent MSc Identity card and duly signed application form by your HOD. This is applicable to masters scholarship, I don't know about other levels.

So the scholarship board will collate names of applicants from same school and level(Postgraduate, undergraduate etc) together regardless of your course of student and send to the admissions officer to confirm each applicant studentship.

Is there any information for those who is presently undergoing PhD abroad and do you have the idea of the value if the scholarship in this case

Why do we have a high rate of student suicide in private schools than public. Could there be a gap in the mental and psychological development of a private student? Or the structure of learning have failed to identify the imperatives of sociology? However, the overall phenomenon leaves so many questions unanswered.

Love is beautiful but a lower expectation of reciprocity is safer. A feeling of self worth and esteem is far better than the giggles that comes from a compliment. When you love yourself wholeheartedly, no lover can make you feel halfheartedly.

Am not surprised this is coming from an Intellectual vagaborn, you spoke sensibly at the beginning but you flawed your piece by generalizing the whole private university students as some low self esteem individuals pampered by the system.

I expect you to single out the individual engaged in this immature display and castigate thereafter if you so wish.

Come to think of it, a toddler knows as a rule of thumb, the actions of an individual does not define the character of an entire group.

fucksterisback:
Black Friday is actually a scam (especially for e-commerce stores). The secret is the price changes is done automatically by a software or should I say a bot. It tracks the way you're interacting with the website (e.g if the way you're surfing through the web pages shows \that you're in a rush to buy something as it applies in black Friday), it increases the price automatically. It also applies to a situation where you're reluctant to buy something from the e-commerce website e.g it might generate a pop-up of 20% discount to persuade you to buy the item immediately.

In conclusion, you guys should enjoy your black Friday scam from jumia, konga and the rest, while it lasts. kiss grin

Education / Re: I Should Have Sorted Some Courses Like Others Did Cries My Friend by taiwoti(m): 9:00am On Oct 09, 2018
pimper24:
A masters degree holder friend of mine has regretted not joining the band .wagon way back in his undergrad days to buy marks in some of his courses, an act popularly known as sorting. According to him, a GPA of 2.80 still hunts him years after he graduated even when he managed to get a masters degree abroad. A PhD has actuality become an up hill task with most of the schools turning town his applications after paying huge application fees.

The crop of American schools subject him to GRE and other funny tests (of course not TOEFL/ IELTS, he makes good grades) that at times make him sit exams with people too young to be his children, then a mail regretting not offering him admissions. He needs a doctorate degree due to a career part he is craving for. For the schools in Nigeria, his course has got few professionals around and the fear of spending years for a three year program scares him stiff.

He has excellent research proposals and even wrote a proposal for someone I know that is presently in one of the top schools in the US. He has a midas touch and a professional in his area. The surprising this is that he made a distinction in his masters degree, but all the schools where he applied for phdin America and Canada and even Australia and NZ keep complaining of his undergrad. Crop of Canadian prospective supervisors he will manage to get in touch with will advise him out rightly not to continue applying and for US, a regret letter readily awaits him after a rigorous applications and fees. They actually mention the undergrad.

Also according to him, the 2.2 level grade is due mainly to some unfortunate incidents that befell him in school. A lecturer accused him of not buying his handout and swore to make him fail, which threat the lecturer effectively carried out. That was his first carryover. GST causes, two results got missing and no help in view, 2nd and 3rd carryover. Then the big bang, 400 level, he almost dropped out due to hard times and missed a whole semester, he managed to write the exam and bagged an f, 3rd carryover, and finally got sick and missed exam at 400 level 5th carryover. I personally know this guy as a very brilliant fellow ( at least for him to finish with a 2.2 despite these unfortunate incidents and without any extra year).

He is really downcast and heart broken. I have advised him to check schools in Nigeria, China, Malaysia (where he got his masters) etc if he must go abroad again for his PhD but he insisted on going to Europe or America.

I wouldn't know if anyone has a better advise.

Advice your friend to try UK universities. Am certain he will get admitted.

Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu Visit Mbazulike Amechi, 1st Republic Aviation Minister (Pics, Video) by taiwoti(m): 6:25pm On Jun 30, 2017
Ooh! They thought that after promoting, campaigning and funding the independent States of
Palestinian and Western Sahara, Israel and Morocco will clap for them and pat them on the back.
They too are now funding, supporting, sponsoring, campaigning, calling for self-determination of
both Palestinian Western Sahara and Biafra, they said Biafra case too should be treated equally.

The UN, AU, ECOWAS treaties that Nigeria is a signatory to allow self-determination through a
referendum. When ECOWAS court wanted to use that to rule in favour of Nnamdi Kanu, Nigeria
threatened to evict and stop funding ECOWAS. Morocco decided to leave the North Africa and
apply for ECOWAS membership so she can accommodate and fund ECOWAS with Israel if Nigeria
government does otherwise.

ECOWAS cannot abandon their treaties because of Nigeria. Nigeria accepted to release Nnamdi
Kalu to avoid ECOWAS doing that by ruling in favour of Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, but vowed never
to allow a referendum.

Why do you think Morocco's application to join ECOWAS was accepted by ECOWAS head of state
last two weeks? Why do you think all ECOWAS countries are supporting Biafra except president
Baro of the Gambia?

Why do you think the Israeli prime minister visited ECOWAS head of state in their last meeting?
Why do you think Nigeria and the Gambia boycotted the meeting for the first time in the history of
ECOWAS?

OBJ went there on his own to beg. Why do you thing OBJ advised FG to beg agitators at
Yaradua centre? Look, ignorance of APC and PMB, their unpreparedness to power, and injustice
in Nigeria is what is destroying Nigeria today not Nnamdi Kanu or IPOB. The UN general
assembly meeting is in August, what do we expect? A declaration of self-determination and
referendum for Palestinian, Western Sahara, Catalonia, and Biafra, or maintaining status quo till
next 5 yrs?

There is pressure on Nigeria from Islamic world led by Saudi, Palestinian people, Western Sahara
people, to let Biafra go so they too can have freedom. Even Turkey is mounting pressure too. We
can now see that there is little of what Nigeria government, police and army can do about this
matter now.

That is why they could no longer keep Nnamdi Kanu in detention, he cannot be rearrested, IPOB
members can no longer be arrested, soldiers are no longer shooting. The only solution now is
meeting, meeting, meeting and more meetings. Also consultations, consultations and more
consultations. Begging, begging, begging and more begging. That is what Coordinator Osinbajo
is doing, but I think he should listen to OBJ and call Nnamdi Kanu to consult him, beg him, talk
to him and ask him what he wants.

This is because with PMB 97% and 5% policy statement on Aljazeera interview and his lopsided
appointments and hatred to Biafrans by some Nigerians are making the Osinbanjo move
impossible. Look, education and exposure are so important in choosing a leader, see the big
problems PMB created for Nigeria, and he is not here to quench it. When OBJ advised him to
ignore Nnamdi Kanu and his radio Biafra the way he ignored sharia law, PMB threatened to
crush him. The same way he threatened to crush the Niger Delta militants. What is coming is
bigger than Nigeria.

Now you know why Nnamdi Kanu is still talking tough. Now you know why Israel RABBI have to
sign his bail. If anything happens to him, we are in a combined UN, AU, Morocco and Israel
mess. Our attitude on Facebook is not helping the matter, today Osinbanjo is having a meeting
with media editors. Nigerians, this may be the end of this contraption called Nigeria. Let us all
join hands together to dismantle this evil marriage so that each component nation will rise up
and develop in its own way and pace. In all, we shall live peacefully as neighbours...

Romance / Re: Every Lady Should Have A Side Boyfriend! by taiwoti(m): 8:52pm On Dec 06, 2016
Sexytemi:
To All Ladies Out There, I Say Please Have A Side Boyfriend!

After reading toke makinwa's book "on becoming" I'm of the idea that if toke had had a back up plan, a guy she could count on if her boyfriend at that time maje(later ex husband) was in his usual act of cheating then maybe he would have taken her serious and respected her more..

I've been there where I gave my all into a relationship and was very loyal to my guy and yet after 5yrs of dating he decided I wasn't good enough for him, and left me stranded, it wasn't funny because I saw the signs but like every other girl in love, I ignored the signs and also ignored guys that would or might have made me more happier than he ever made me.

A friend of mine started dating a guy, and she got to realize he was cheating on her, and not only was he cheating but with a girl so young, when my friend confronted him, this guy practically lied and denied everything even he knew my friend saw all the evidences he still blamed her, and she asked me what she did wrong, all she ever did was love and give him all of her, she ignored all guys because of this guy yet he threw her love to the dogs.

Then another of my friend met up with a guy and ohh she fell for his charm, this my friend has had a fair share in the heart break department, her heart has been broken not once, twice and not even thrice. when she chatted me up and said"babe I've met a guy and he loves me with his all, babe he wants to marry me and babe thank God for me" I got to admit I was happy for her and in fact I thank God on her behalf and used her case as a testimony of good things to happen, I tap into her good luck and believe someday I'd also meet a guy who would love me as much as her guy did, little did I know the guy was nothing short of bastard, a guy who makes ladies curse other guys, a guy who is a disgrace to other guys...this guy impregnated my friend and made her father chase her out of the house, with nowhere to go she moved in with him and got to know who he really was, this guy still went after girls, cheats on my friend even in her condition, lodge in different hotels with different girls, and whenever she confronts him he denies it to her face, and in my friend's voice"babe, I'm so scared of him, he lies so much that when he greets me good morning I go out to make sure its really morning", and I'm sure we all know its wrong for a pregnant lady to think, but oh my friend is always thinking and sad all because she fell in love with an ahole and was loyal.

And this makes me wonder is it wrong for ladies to be loyal in their relationships?, is it a bad thing to fall in love and give you her all?, is it a crime for ladies to do all just to please their guys?, and why can't guys just be faithful to their ladies?. and my answers to these questions is just for ladies to have side boyfriends, with a side boyfriends you won't have the fear of the main guy waking up one day and leaving you for another girl, you won't have the heart attack of thinking of what your boyfriend is doing at the moment, and you won't be so involved in the life of your boyfriend for him to tell you you are choking him or think less of you.

My friend, stop the epistle there, infidelity knows no gender, it cuts across board.

Romance / Re: My Girlfriend Is Marrying Someone Else by taiwoti(m): 11:19pm On Dec 02, 2016
Ujuhot:
The most difficult time to be in a relationship as a guy is in your early twenties. The period when you are stuck in a limbo, trying to figure out yourself and who you want to be.

At this age, you find it a herculean task asking money from your parents, considering your dad will always remind you of how he was self sufficient at your age. So you are always left with "Nkechiyere" anyone that comes from them willingly. To compound your "woes". You have a girlfriend whom you love so much, you are 24 and she is 23. And guys being wired to want to take control, you are frustrated at your inability to take care of her like you want to.
I mean where is the money??
You are still jobless, still hustling, still finding your feet.
Still putting hands in to many things hoping for good. All of a sudden, she starts acting out and showing attitude. You call, and she takes forever to pick or return your calls. When she finally does pick, the call is like an interview session with those annoying and frustrating one word replies. Yes, no, fine, okay, nothing.

Then finally she ends the call with a flimsy excuse like " wait let me close the fridge", i will call you back. And the call never comes back. Then one day she calls you and asks you "where is this relationship heading to?.
You don't even know where your own life is heading to, not to talk of a relationship. Then she drops the bombshell. Tells you that she met a guy who wants to marry her. And how age isn't on her side, and you are almost compelled to scream "But you are just 23". Can't you wait 3 more years let me make it.
You just hold yourself and play the good guy. You ask her if she loves him, she dodges the question and replies you with " He treats me well". Well since she wasn't informing you to take permission, she was simply telling you.

You have to be the cool guy and wish her well. One week later, she gives you the traditional wedding card. And then you do the math yourself. She was talking to the guy a long time before now.

Then you realise that for every "K" you got on WhatsApp, the guy was getting a long epistle.
You have been played. Worse is you cant even blame her, you are just a prospect who no one knows what will become of your life in 4years time. Would you have made it or not? She has gone for the real deal, someone who has already made it.

In footballing terms, you are a "Anthony Martial" ( prospect) while the guy is a Messi ( has made it already). I mean you were sending her cards of N200, and the guy was telling her to manage 10k for the weekend. No comparison there.
And then you go through that silent heartbreak guys go through, the ones they don't talk about. And unceremoniously you get inducted into the special hall of fame where members are young guys whose childhood loves and friends or girlfriends they thought they would end up with left them to marry someone else. Your heart is broken into smithereens. In this hall of fame, you are all victims. Victims of not having found your path in your early twenties.
At the wedding, no sight is more heartbreaking than seeing "the love of your life" say "I do" to this guy she just met 6 months ago.
To make matters worse, you get an alert from Diamond bank telling you how N13 have been deducted for bank charges. You are mad.Your N4000, is down to N3987 rendering that N1k useless, you can only withdraw N3k now. And that's your home and abroad. Can life be more unfair at this moment?

6 years later. You are 30 now. Congratulations, you finally made it. You are as rich as you hoped you will become. You are one of the happening guys in town. You go to a wedding. With your friends, the men on suit. Those guys that just intimidate everyone in the hall. You are seated scouting the hall, and the bridal train passes by. Of course, bridal train and ashoebi ladies always show themselves. That's part of the job description. Sampling. And you spot one, she is beautiful, elegant and tall. You walk up to her, chat her up. Exchange numbers and you leave. She is 24, ripe for marriage. Three months later, you are sounding marriage to her ears. She loves how it sounds.

You are on chat with her always.
And somewhere else, a 25year old boy still finding his way is wondering why the girlfriend is becoming distant these days.
Why is he getting those one worded replies which is unlike her. Why do there chats seem more like interview. And fast fast, you have proposed and simultaneously she is asking the 25year old boy that question of
"Where is this relationship going to". And then you marry her, and somewhere a boy gets heart broken.

You see we are always going to do this to ourselves.

Politics / Supreme Court Dismisses Sheriff's Appeal On Ondo Polls by taiwoti(m): 7:21am On Nov 23, 2016
• Says Appeal Panel stands

The Supreme Court has dismissed applications filed by the Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State. The application sought to stay all proceedings at the Appeal Court concerning the governorship candidate of the party in the state, pending determination by the apex court.

Dismissing the appeal for stay of proceedings yesterday, the Supreme Court urged the Appeal Court panel to continue hearing on the matter. Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, who presided over the proceedings, dismissed the motion and awarded various costs against the applicants, to be personally
made by counsel to the applicant, Beluolisa Nwofor.

In his ruling, after listening to parties in the appeal, Onnoghen began by dismissing the motion seeking to disqualify the recently constituted three-man panel of the Appeal Court.

The Justice held that the dismissal of the motion on stay of proceedings at the lower court had rendered prayers one to three an academic exercise liable to be discountenanced. Prayers one to three in this circumstance include a request for an order of the court to stay all further proceedings and hearing in the matter pending outcome of the Supreme Court appeal; disqualify the Appeal Court panel from hearing on the matter; and for the court to look into the issue of jurisdiction of the court below to hear the appeal considering there was no valid notice of appeal filed therein.

The Justice also ruled that the applicants had joined the Justices in their personal capacity and described the attempt as an effort to rubbish the Justices.
“They were not joined as parties at the trial court. The joining of the Justices was an attempt, not only to scandalise the Justices but also to intimidate them, and this should be discouraged.”

He added: “As judicial officers, they are not liable to be subjected to that kind of intimidation. If applicants are allowed to continue like this, there would be no end to it and it will not augur well for the judiciary.”

The Sheriff-led faction of the PDP had approached the Supreme Court seeking an order to stay all proceedings emanating from the Appeal Court panel pending the outcome of its appeal at the Supreme Court.
The appellants in the notice of appeal filed at the Supreme Court on November 11, through their counsel, Nwofor, challenged the decision of the panel that sustained the application filed by Eyitayo Jegede.

They also challenged the decision of the panel in which it refused to disband itself.Jegede, the governorship candidate of the Senator Ahmed Makafi-led faction of the party, had challenged the judgment of the Federal High Court that ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove his name and replace it with that of Jimoh Ibrahim.

The appellants in the latest notice of appeal prayed an order of the court to stay all further proceedings and further hearing in appeal No. CA/A/551C/2016 between Jegede and Prince Biyi Poroye and 10 others at the Appeal Court.

Greetings to everyone, i don't know if this is the right section to post this, but this is what happened to me this afternoon, i noticed that MTN Nigeria is not just a fraud but they are deceitful and cunning, i recharged 1000 naira in the anticipation of getting 1gig or more data, as they've earlier promised with the bombardment of their unsolicited promo text messages #wow weekend.

I immediately checked my account balance to see if the data is there, but to my surprise i got non, then i proceeded in calling their customer care and i was told that MTN Nigeria is not offering the promo this weekend.

Finally i want answers to this questions from MTN Nigeria:
1. What would MTN gain from defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians of their hard earned sweat this period?
2. Why would MTN keep sending this promo messages knowing that they won't be delivering on their promises?
3. What is going to cost MTN to halt the sending of this promo messages, when they know they won't deliver?

This rather good riddance to bad rubbish at this critical time of MTN's operation.

This happened last april. ..i was at home bored when a call came in, i picked up my phone..saw a strange number and i was so reluctant(i dont go abt picking calls that are not on my contact) so i decided to answer the call. I heard a deep voice..#cut conversation short.
He told me he knew me from somewhere..
So we got talking. Oneday, he fixed a date we should meet which i oblige to.

On that sunny day we met at fancy restaurant. I won't lie, the food was one of the best i have ever tasted cheesy..
We talked about ourselves.

This guy is from a wealthy family meh but very religious.
He Asked, are you are a virgin, i replied hmmmm nah"
His face was kinda sad. He told me he thought i was a decent girl. and i replied yes of course "I'm decent. grin.

He explained everything to me that he is a virgin and vowed to get married to a virgin aswell.; don't be angry, we can be friends you know, just friends. I was so furious in my mind. angry na wey i wan hammer na enemy don put sand for my garri.

Phones / Re: How To Spot A Fake SD Card (memory Card) by taiwoti(m): 8:38am On May 31, 2016
Opistorincos:
SanDisk Micro SD cards has been around in the mobile spare part market for as far back as two decades and this was due to the originality of their products and its durability. Unfortunately, this particular memory card is the most pirated Micro SD in Nigeria(I trust my Aba Boys) thereby making it hard to get an original SanDisk Micro SD card in most Nigerian smartphone hub because the market has been flooded with the pirated copies. Most Nigerians do not have beforehand knowledge about these things before rushing to computer village to get a memory card for their newly bought phones,mp3 player, card reader e.t.c. Simply because brothers watch out for each other,I am going to highlight how you can easily spot a fake memory card whenever you have the need for one;

*Container/ SD Card label

If the information on the memory card pack is not the same with whats on the memory card itself, simply ask for another one with matching information e.g. if SDXC is boldly printed on the memory card pack and the maker of the memory card itself i.e. the label on the memory card is MicroSDHC, kindly move to the next and to the next until you find one that is original.

*Unboxing

When you remove the pack to get the main thing i,e the memory card, an original SanDisk SD Card is protected by a fine cut white paper while the other one does not have any form of protection whatsoever.

*Card Reader

One of my close pals bought a memory card the other day and guess what? The instructions on the memory card reader was written in Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba and the worst part is the fact that the SD Card did not last up to a week before it started misbehaving. What I am saying in essence is, if you notice this kind on inscription on the card readerof the memory card you wanna buy, kindly move to another shop.

*SD Card(rear view)

The front side of an original SanDisk memory card has its serial number written with faded brown and China is boldly wriiten as the manufacturing company. This can be easily confirmed by taking the memory card under a bright light in order to see the almost faded inscriptions.

I hope the next time you are in need of a memory card for any of your gadgets you will put the above points into consideration in order not to fall for the cheap scam of some jobless Nigerians. Kindly like our Facebook and Twitter page for more updates.
