Eko Ile: I did not insult you and if I did, please show me where. Curb your insecurities.
"If you offer sensible and commendable discussion, I'll respect you and discuss with you accordingly, but not if all you have is silly and made up argument based on nothing but your own grudge against Lagos state".

You talk about me being insecure, well its obvious you're the one suffering from insecurity tendencies since you have to resort to abusive and offensive language in an effort to propagate your arguments. I suggest you go for P.R trainings so you could better serve your boss. Youre acting more like a thug than an intellectual which is quite unfortunate.
PoliticsRe: Lagos To Introduce Cable Cars For Mass Transportation. by talktimi(m): 5:59am On Feb 05, 2013
@Eko Ile Its obvious you didn't read my comments entirely in a bid to insult me, no where did I oppose this cable car issue I'm only opposed to your use of abusive language on Lagos residents who have a RIGHT to question what goes on in their city. The fact you work for the government doesn't make you better or more intelligent than every one else or even higher in social standing than the next man out there. Your superiority ends behind the screen of your computer as you have no monopoly over intelligence.
There's something about pride sha

Eko Ile: Many Nigerians are just too mentally redundant and backward, they don't think much of themselves and every little thing is a challenge and potential calamity so they must not go there.

You might as well head back to the stone age... And they call these vision less people leaders of tomorrow.. ?
this is just sick
PoliticsRe: Lagos To Introduce Cable Cars For Mass Transportation. by talktimi(m): 5:15am On Feb 05, 2013
Tpia@, those photos you posted of cable cars in various countries do NOT depict them as a mode of mass transportation which is exactly what skeptics are afraid of.
Its quite unfortunate eko ile describing those who have doubts about this proposed project as "visionless" "self defeatist" and other such derogatory terms. It is highly uncalled and unbecoming for someone whose job is to propagate the policies of your principal to actually insult residents of the state who are going to be the final consumers. You will agree with me that most of Fashola's policies are commended by Lagos residents but the few times they are criticized shows the beauty of governance and democracy where a people have a right to question the actions of their leaders if they feel the govt is going astray, we're no longer under a dictatorship where everyone had to shut up.
You said the LASG isn't commiting a dime to this project so the best thing you should do is to assuage fears of wastage which is what the people are afraid of and encourage everybody to watch and see the "success" this project will become.

you're probably right, but obudu ranch has had ski lifts for some years now.

PoliticsRe: Lagos To Introduce Cable Cars For Mass Transportation. by talktimi(m): 4:15pm On Feb 04, 2013
Wallie: Interesting! I’m curious to know the exact kind of system to be deployed. I see that the company in question will be using a system provided by Doppelmayr, a company that has been in the business of producing ski lifts since the 1930s.

I wonder the viability of using ski lifts as a means of public transportation because of the year round traffic on such a system. Ski lifts only see heavy traffic during the winter months. If indeed they’re trying to bring a ski lift type system, which at most has a capacity of 6000 people per hour, can such a system be used as a means of public transportation without negatively affecting the mean-time-between-failures (MTBF)?

However, I doubt it would be ski lifts as shown in OP’s pictures. I think it would be a Cable Car like the one in the picture below.
thank you o jare better person, OP made us believe it was those ski lift things like the ones used @ obudu cattle ranch which didn't really make sense to me but this cable car option is more realistic & if truely the LASG isn't putting a dime into the project then I'm all for it. Property owners alongst the proposed routes should berra regularise their C of O's for compensation sha.
This looks just like the monorail project going on in Rivers state, I just prefer the private sector part

aribisala0: S tupid idea!. Not necessary, too expensive and unlikely to have any impact on Lagos's population. There are too many instances of people using Okada when they should be walking. Even in the most advanced Places with buses and underground systems you still have to walk.
I believe Okada is okay for personal use but not commercial.
Any person that wants Okada should learn how to ride one and buy one and there should be no ban on personal usage.

Did I hear you say that will be abused? It is not difficult to police. When caught seize the bike and fine the Customer and do not allow anyone to hang around waiting for fares to pick up. Alternatively there are many single passenger motorbikes and those should be exempt from the ban or just make it illegal for more than one person to ride on a motorbike.
Upon the many times you've insulted me on nairaland, I can't help but agree with you on this instance which is what I've been advocating since the ban on okada plying certain routes kicked off. The most annoying part for me is the arrest of our uniformed personel for plying the restricted routes but you sort of hit the nail on the proper part of the head by saying private single passenger bikes should be exempt from this ban.

you see your life ? Instead of arguing logically you're calling me a "Jonathanian" as if its a disease that I should be afraid of.
The truth is bitter and youve obviously not studied world politics prefering instead to sit in your cubicle typing jargons on your system.

kennyeast: Young man, the truth is always bitter. Mind u, i'm not acn member, but truly speaking ur c & c is not intelligent at all.
I'm not here to debate Jonathans' intelligence or lack of it, it is crass indiscipline and an utmost disrespect for a sitting governor to insult his president and C in C whether openly or not even if he/she is a member of an opposition party, we're even lucky the man is not a despot if not many people running their mouths in this country would have been missing by now.

We no longer need PDP styled "Do or Die" Politics of OBJ and PDP

ACN matured ke ? A party whose supporters call a whole president of Nigeria "retardeen" is far from being a matured party. Scroll through topics in the politics section of nairaland and say with all honestly the most insultive party supporters on nairaland, a party whose sitting governor can openly say his C in C isn't intelligent can't be a matured party. I give kudos to Mr Akeredolu who has always been a role model to me.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Demands N26bn From FG, Borno Government by talktimi(m): 9:39am On Feb 02, 2013
What is the N23 billion for ? Is it

- To buy more weapons and recruit more idiots to die like fowl ?
- To fund and extend their operations outside of the north east, possibly down south ?

N26 billion is a really large sum of money, there's already a break away group that's proving to be more deadly than the BH, what if they decide to ask for their own 26 billion or more ?
I disagree with people who say the FG isn't doing anything to curb the insurgency, my cousin is a soldier in Borno state involved in the JTF there and believe me the soldiers and other security operatives are really giving these faceless thugs a hell of a fight.
Besides has anyone asked the BH who will compensate the family members of those they killed ? I still maintain that the names of their sponsors be published let Nigerians judge whether to forgive them or not.

I still don't understand why android users keep bashing blackberry users, I mean not everybody drives a toyota, some people just prefer a mercedes or bmw. I know some people in this country who won't budge from nokia's symbian devices to save their life and you don't see anyone bashing them.
P.S if you know you're going to criticize someone for the type of phone he/she uses, I think its only proper you buy your prefered choice for that person. That Blackberry's shares have fallen doesn't mean any of you guys here have a share in any android phone manufacturing company. I use an Xperia S with my BB so don't waste your time insulting me too
PoliticsRe: Fashola: Jonathan Lacks The Knowledge To Tackle Nigeria’s Problems by talktimi(m): 8:46am On Feb 02, 2013
CohenJane: Can you see that you are a bunch of lies? Instead of you to simply respond to just four lines of fact, based on calculation, you resulted to name calling and gutter language. Does that not say it all, I mean the type of person you are and your intentions? You must surely be from somewhwere in Otueke
but to be honest kaeto didn't start the name calling and gutter language, it seems anyone on this forum who has a different view from eko ile is automatically a "retardeen" supporter and I still maintain that come campaign period by 2014/2015 these people you guys are insulting are the same one you'll have to meet to sell your manifestos to we can't deny elections are getting more and more transparent in this country and you can't deny that you need other regions when campaigning for votes and if they remember your tribalistic sentiments and the insults hurled at them, it might just be hard for the acn/cpc merger to fly succesfully. Its still on record that the Fashola administration increased the LASU schoo fees by over 1000%, its still on record that even military men who were given okada's for easy movement to augment their wages are also arrested and their bikes confiscated, its still on record that the poster Lagos state govt banned the only reliable means of transportation on most roads in the state without providing adequate alternatives then factor in a party that is heavily influenced by a godfather Tinubu who laymen believe has un fettered access to the lagos state treasury people will definitely believe he will try to sleep on top the federal treasury if this merger contraption works, factor in when people outside lagos state realize that the likes of eko ile and other ACN fellows regard them as less than human or idiots because they're not from Lagos or don't live in Lagos or their governor isn't Fashola. You guys really have to change your marketing strategy to remove the insults you hurl on those not living in or from Lagos state it might turn back to haunt you. If your explanation is that Fashola couldn't develop the whole of Lagos at once because of the LARGE population of 20million and overstretched infrastructure, then how do you expect the "retardeen" to develop ALL of Nigeria at once with over stretched and in many places, non existent infrastructure which predates even this democracy we're enjoying that allows a sitting governor insult his C in C openly (oh the Abacha era). Its laughable for anyone who lives in Lagos to say Fashola didn't work but its also laughable for people in Nigeria to say GEJ's administration isn't working, very pathetic indeed.
PoliticsRe: Fashola: Jonathan Lacks The Knowledge To Tackle Nigeria’s Problems by talktimi(m): 2:07am On Feb 02, 2013
ACN + CPC = strange bed fellows ie a "straight" Buhari and a "bent" Tinubu is a recipe for disaster. I bet a lot of students who missed a chance for university education in LASU due to crazy school fees would be giving this dude a thumbs up. Its just so unfortunate for a governor to insult his president publicly, it says a lot of the kind of person he is. There's an FEC meeting every week and suggestions for governance would have been welcome there. Pathetic

PoliticsRe: Panic In Presidency Over Mounting Tension In Military - Talk Of Mutiny? by talktimi(m): 5:39pm On Jan 31, 2013
Its funny the 3 major tribes in Nigeria actually accusing each other of being tribalistic. Foolish people sha but its really a cause for concern, I remember long ago when I was in primary school and 2 of my classmates were having a verbal altercation and one called the other "omo ibo" its so surprising that a persons tribe can be a source of insult while an average northerner refers to an igbo man as "inyamiri" and at the first chance, a genocide is started against them. Some days back I decided to call my gateman inyamiri and he didn't find it funny at all but I was past caring.
Y'all insulting the OP should just take a chill pill, he isn't the author of the article and I don't think he's a soldier, he's just a Nigerian who caught interest in the topic

I once met an elderly ex soldier in ph who fought in the Biafran war, he told me of all the military courses he took and how he excelled in all of them in different parts of the world but he retired as a SERGEANT from the army with soldiers who he trained promoted over and above him all because he wasn't a northerner. This culture of nepotism has been going on for a very looooooong time in the military as well as the civil service and frankly speaking I think Nigeria is too far gone to correct it because the next man who goes in if Ifejirika leaves the position WILL STILL do the same thing, its just a fact of the Nigerian life eg the top 13 positions in the NNPC were held by Northerners until the present minister of petroleum came on board then the Northern elite started screaming blue murder.
Quote me if I'm wrong but any person in Nigeria who goes into a position of authority WILL favor people from his TRIBE.

Why are people just beefing unnecessarily ? All OS's have their weak and selling point. I personally don't like the iphone, it doesn't mean its a bad phone on the contrary it is a very good phone just that I'm not a fan of touchscreen phones. Just the same way people bashing BB users should chill out a bit, its their option and it should be respected as long as they don't meet you for financial assistance to buy the phone.
And those complaining about the price of a bb10 being too expensive at N120,000 should remember the Iphone 5 started around N150k, if you have the money then by all means buy it
