Phones / Re: Tecno Phones Finally Featured On Gsm Arena by talut(m): 9:34pm On Dec 05, 2018
Xiaomi redmi 6 uses p22 and sells for around 55k,its a smaller screen but 20k more is not worth it at all. Redmi note 5 which is better than this, comes with 1080p 6" screen display, snapdragon 636 which outperforms helio p22 by a large margin is even cheaper than this tecno whatever. Point is xiaomi isn't overpriced infact not even close.
To y'all claiming tecno is going or has gone global. Tecno doesn't even lead the phone market from where they are from, certainly not in Nigeria too. If it does I hope that changes.
PS : It's starting to hurt having this conversation with everybody but then what is knowledge if it ain't shared
Olodo24:
are they the only ones using that? if the camon 11 was a Xiaomi phone, heaven knows how high the price would have been. For your information, ordinary Nigerians do not know about these processors.... give them a large screen, good cameras and attractive design and they'll be fine. if not for tecno and infinix, Nokia and Co would have relegated some peeps into using Java phones till eternity. imagine Nokia Java phones selling for over 25k and Samsung phones with 1gb ram and 8gb rom selling for over 60k around 2012/2013. Not everyone is on over 100k budget for an ordinary phone as they may call it. I can't even tell some people the price of my phones as they'd pull me down with trailers of advices telling me it's extravagancy. They should be applauded for that.

mind you....I've never used a tecno phone before (I might use it in the nearest future though) but I'm saying it as it is. They tried.

I just confirmed something.. If you're buying Nokia x5 from April story or bigmall on jumia.. You're getting the global rom. It's written there.

Anyone considering tecno or infinix, no offense to them, is just ignorant about how fast the tech world is advancing.
Phones / Re: Best Phone To Get Within 50000-60000 Naira Range by talut(m): 9:37am On Dec 04, 2018
No dey mention tecno device... The world is now smarter than all this? The device came with mediatek p22. Xiaomi redmi note 5 that comes with a far superior SOC and should be about 1 year older doesn't even sell for that much
tafat:
its depends on what you want in a phone o, you could go for the new camon 11 sha or better still the camon 11 pro, though it retails for about 76000

Jumia express? What's the name on the package... X5 or 5.1 plus

mrvocalprowess:
Okay. So no worries or fears.

It has play services and playstore (china Android phones don't have playstore or play services because of China's issue with Google) - this was why I was really bothered about it having Google's China ROM.

It can also have updates.

Tho I checked for an update, it says it's up to date and the security patch is July's.

It looks very sleek and made of glass. I have to hold it like an egg till i get tempered glass screen and pouch for it.

No earpiece!

just got mine from jumia. it's the china version n haven't switched it on yet, there's a tutorial on XDA on how to flash the global version rom.
Phones / Re: Nokia Users, Get In Here!!! by talut(m): 10:50am On Nov 29, 2018
The 5.1 plus also has a 4gb;64gb variant
tidedroid:
nokia 5.1plus on jumia express is 70k and nokia x5 on jumia global is 50k.anyway when the guy that ordered the x5 gives his mini review we will all know if having the international android one version or the chinese version makes any big difference
Phones / Re: Nokia Users, Get In Here!!! by talut(m): 8:38pm On Nov 28, 2018
It was actually launched in India... X5 was what was
launched in china. We'll know when one of us gets it. I also ordered for one last week.
mrvocalprowess:

it was launched in Hong Kong as 5.1 plus .
Phones / Re: Nokia Users, Get In Here!!! by talut(m): 7:03pm On Nov 28, 2018
But then Hong Kong is China.. Moreso the global version is launched under a different name "5.1 plus". I have seen videos, some with x5 others with 5.1 plus on the box.so if they say its x5, it's probably the Chinese version. Who knows it might come with playstore cos the Nokia 6 China version kinda came with playstore. The xda conversion guide isn't difficult to follow. You probably can find the global version on Ali express but it's probably pricey compared to what the store on jumia is offering
mrvocalprowess:

I think they'll be importing it from Hong kong. if it's from Hong kong, it'll be the global version.

i doubt they'll order it from China knowing it's Android OS is not same we use in Nigeria.
Phones / Re: Best Phone To Get Within 50000-60000 Naira Range by talut(m): 10:01am On Nov 27, 2018
Helio p23 against snapdragon 636 is just a plain joke. P60 which is by far better than p23 is struggling to be on par with 636.. Don't lemme talk about the gpu.. It speaks for itself. Adreno gpu no be the mate of whatever they paired with the p23.. But I'd say the price of the tecno is good though.

Yyvonne:
Go for Tecno camon x pro

6.0 inch FHD+ 2.5D display
Android 8.1 Oreo
MediaTek Helio P23
2.0 GHz Octa-Core
4GB RAM, 64GB ROM
16MP back camera with Ring Flash
24MP front with Dual Flash
Fingerprint sensor, Face ID
3750mAh battery

Go for redmi 5 +. I hope I don't sound biased.. Not a fan of samsung
Ps:I didn't look up the specs of the s6. But the redmi 6 should be better

Sommyroy10:
pls how does the Xiaomi redmi 5+ fare compared to the Samsung S6?

Phones / Re: Best Phone To Get Within 50000-60000 Naira Range by talut(m): 1:46pm On Nov 20, 2018
If you are the type that use phones well(phone doesn't spoil easily in your hand) then I'd suggest you look into the ulefone or xiaomi brand. The only reason the ulefone gets bad review is because they don't support their phones update and maybe service wise so if you get the phone broken or something of that sort it's going to be hard to find a repair shop talk less or getting spare parts. In the case of xiaomi, the brand is getting more and more popular in Nigeria these days. The infinix hot something you mentioned has a very low end snapdragon processor if I'm not mistaken. Personally I think that phone is up to no good. The only advantage I see in buying an infinix or tecno brand is anybody can repair them these days. Huawei is also a good brand. They currently produce the best chipset a smart phone can have if you're excluding that of the iPhone. Someone mentioned looking at the the ulephone power 2, instead check on ulephone power 3s, the vernee x is looking nice too. Although the company has just 50 followers or thereabout on twitter so.. (if you get what I mean). If you're not the type that will want to risk.. I'll recommend any of the xiaomi redmi 5 or 6 phones.. There is nothing bad in getting a 3gb ram phone with a very good chipset, you can just get a ulephone running oreo from the box, sure you might get security patches but you most definitely won't get pie update. And one other thing try getting a phone using type c USB port

Yohh:

What's d price of the redmi 5 plus?

Flying rajin?! And what evidence in the manga points to that?
Spectre007:
it wasn't that lit shaa,Naruto shippuden still tops the list when it comes to action and soundtracks(especially during fighting scenes) compared to boruto, the only reason that kept watching boruto up to this moment is that according to the manga he would learn that fourth hokage flying raijin jutsu in the nearest future,it would be awesome too if boruto developes his rasengan into "vanishing rasen shurinken".

I get what you are trying to do. You want to convince yourself that you're right.
If you think that $2 million is something affordable to the middle class even in the richest country, then you had better start to think again... That's not even taking "little things" like fuel price, maintenance, parking space even . I think it's safe to assume to comfortably purchase this one should have a networth of about $20M. If you still think that's middle class maybe this might help you see better.

But then again this is just someone sharing his own thoughts
hardeycute:
the 'middle class' here is relative, atleast not pertaining to Third world countries

Like the guy who replied you first said, that's how it has to be... In Nigeria anyways. Basically, if your network service provider does not have t not voLTE then you won't be able to.. Ntel is the only network that I know which supports this... Maybe smile and co too

But my brother Samsung works pretty well with 4G....That's 4G is useless then can't even receive calls or message only to browse

Phones / Re: Airtel Nigeria Customer Service Insensitivity by talut(m): 10:07pm On Mar 30, 2018
Lol. Are you joking? Cos you got me there
CyberFury:
For the past for days, Airtel Network has been down in Owerri. I personally haven't been able to successfully open a single webpage on this network since this week.

Today I got so frustrated that I had to call their customer service number, after the long protocols and waits, a lady customer support agent picked my call, she took her time to hear me out, and after I was done, she just plainly told me to go get another network for my internet connection needs...and then ended the call.

I was shocked.

I noticed it too. I normally subscribe for 1gb with N500 twice to get 2gb and it would last me for at least a week, but now it doesn't even last more than 3 days. Recently I subscribed for the 2gb for 1k and now it's showing me 309mb available when I have used only 1.5gb. That's almost 200mb gone.
Seems I may have to go to airtel or 9mobile.

Mr man that's where considering data uplink comes in
Phones / Re: MTN Monthly Data Is Fake! Stop Using It by talut(m): 10:08am On Sep 10, 2017
All of you claiming the data zaps faster than normal most likely don't turn off your data regularly. when you are not using your data the Android still uses it too run sum background process that are not necessary. The process Android OS in the screenshot sent uses a lot of data though it's a background process. There should be smtn zapping your data without you knowing. A data counter app can also be used to keep track of the data you use.
One more thing, most people forget about the uploading part of using data and consider downloading alone. Having the notion that downloading a file of 20mb should take 20mb form your data balance is so so wrong.
PS: I dislike it when I hear people complain about data zapping
