They are planning on sending me out of the country after the program. Should I just dash off my dream of becoming a lecturer to pursue nursing?. One of the jobs you will get abroad with less discrimination of any kind (colour or accent) is in the Nursing field,be it as an Aide, Clinical Nurse ,Practical Nurse, or Psychiatric Nurse,While working in any of this fields you can still study to become a Lecturer in Nursing later in life. |

NeneSisi: I'm a practicing Physiotherapist here in Nigeria and would love to continue once we arrive Canada and get my license.
My question though, is for people who work or know of Senior Nursing Facilities or Adult Day Care or any thing like that.
My workplace here has been so gracious to allow organize group exercise classes for Seniors which is what really interests me. However, what I'd like is more information from landed colleagues who have gone this route.
It may be a total change in career from Physio to Adult Care or even just working as a physio in a Senior Nursing Facility.
We intend to land in Alberta because we have family there thus making settling a little less stressful. I checked the Alberta website and I saw that mostly what is required is a post-secondary education and some 18 months certification from a college / university in Alberta. Some organizations even let you learn on the job.
Any one with more information? I'd really appreciate it. Even from other provinces.
Thank you While you study to get certified as a Physiotherapist in Canada, its possible for you to initially train as a Physical therapy assistant or Recreational Assistant, and work with that certification for a while. But if you are interested in Adult care you will need to get certified and licenced as an Health Care Aide (HCA).Your Location in Alberta will determine the best college you can consider for HCA, you may wish to check : Bow valley College and Red deer college. |

What I have realised is that the ones not family Physicians would likely have practiced in South Africa, UK or Ireland before coming to Canada. The family physicians from Nigeria all had to take regulatory exams. I am not sure about the ones from Europe or SA. Cons: Bitterly cold-comparable to Manitoba and Edmonton & up, Mosquitoes in summer, diversity not as much as Ontario or BC, could be boring, no real international airport like the one in Calgary, Vancouver or Toronto, lowest minimum wage in Canada, Infrastructures not as nice as say BC or Ontario.
Moved here from Calgary, Alberta after the world Oil glut seriously affected Alberta's economy. Had a chance to move elsewhere like BC or return to Alberta, but the family loves it here than Alberta, so this is home now. Love Sask - Land of the living skies.

salford1: No one said it was impossible. Lots of people earn 6 figures. Maybe not for lots of new immigrants or people starting early in their careers, but at some point, people will get there if they work in a good company with structured salary increment steps or promotions. If you work in trades, you can hit 6 figures even as a second year apprentice (atleast in my industry - Energy). However 100k is still not easy to attain in Canada since this earnings places your income in the top 10% (need to verify) in Canada. 6 figures is good, bur remember CRA too dey wait for you o... |

Politics › Re: Okorocha Advocates One Senator Per State To Cut Cost Of Governance by Tantolu: 9:20pm On Oct 03, 2019 |
Showbby28: Kenneth Udeh, Abuja
Senator representing Imo West, Senator Rochas Okorocha has advocated the reduction in the number of senators representing various states at the National Assembly, especially at the Senate.
Okorocha a former governor of Imo State elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) , made this known during Thursday’s plenary session.
He made the comments during his contribution to the Medium Term Expenditure Framework And Fiscal Strategy Paper submitted by the joint committee on finance and national planning.
He stressed that if the plan was implemented, it would help to reduce the cost of governance in the country, stating that it would further help the country maintain fiscal discipline.
He said: “This country must begin to make sacrifices; our country provides that we have three Senators, but what are the three Senators per state doing that one single senator from that state cannot do? With over 300 representatives from the states, each of them creates increased demands from the economic system.
“What we need to have under the present ugly economic situation is have a statutory representative one per state to reduce the cost of governance.
“Secondly, we need to fund the productive sector of our economy. Government is business. Our Senate must not operate our budget from an accountant’s perspective but an economic perspective
The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, in his reaction, advised Sen. Okorocha to formulate a constitution-amendment bill to back up his contribution.
He said: “Your contribution can be translated into a bill; if you want a state to have only one senator, your contribution requires a constitutional amendment.
“You have the opportunity to present a bill to seek for the amendment of the relevant sections of the constitution that provides for three senators per state. https://www.sunnewsonline.com/to-cut-cost-of-governance-okorocha-advocates-one-senator-per-state/ We don't even need the Senate Must we copy everything.......National house of Assembly is enough for Nigeria....wait for the real revolution...we will get there. |

bekayy: Hello All Please what is the best flight to use for travel. Thank you.
P.S I have searched for suggestions here, didn't find an answer. Shalom. what exactly do you mean by best??.. Least Cost or what?? Basically, your choice of flight should be a function of your final destination in Canada. My advice is make sure you have up to 3 hours lay over time , if you must transit through Toronto, that would enable you sort out luggage, immigration, customs and check in for the local flight.. Ethiopia and Egypt Airs seems economic enough, for now....but if you are heading to Calgary KLM is comfortable.. |

It's hard to make decision these days and that's why I'm asking the experts in the house .thanks hnmn...you sound desperate to leave Nigeria.and ven with N700k, you cant start a profitable poultry project, by the time you finish housing or cage, what you will have left cannot breed 100 broilers to table...Dont even think egg production for now ...my advice for you.... Go and fix N350k,in fixed deposit go to Oke aaro ,rent a cubicle and start pig business, you are assured of a better ROI with the rest amount..and possibly double your hustle with another job.. from there you can get money to process Express entry or student visa to canada, apart from those two means to canada..dont waste your money on any other one .....,Its possible.... you can do it...people have done it you will secceed in Jesus name. |

Remicynt: Hello everyone, I am still on my PPR journey but I really enjoy reading this page as it gives me inspiration to move ahead with this canny plan. I have some questions to ask. 1) I normally read where pple say immigration in Canada checked for PoF. How is this done do they ask u to open ur account or just ur bank Statement. Also is the POf goin to be in CAD. 2) How did u decide which area to stay. What are the different advantages of every province or state. I have more questions o but please help me answer this one first. Thanks Question 1:- Its actually a function of the mood of the immigration officer receiving you...but in your own interest, it is better for you to have around say$2000 cash(USD or CAD) handy, have an updated account statement to show and your DebitCard....or plan to transfer to a bank in canada...That will suffice with any stubborn Immigration officer,..but usually they are not.. its not advisable to travel with the whole POF as cash..But if you do,make sure you declare it where you will sign your COPR. But i will advise you to come with enough money if you cant afford the whole minimum Fund for your family size,Landing and getting your feet establish isnt a child's play.you will need money. Your second question had been duly answered above. Good luck! |

Amosun used all the bridge constructions projects to scam and loot the treasury of Ogun state leaving them with debts to service,Because Daniel did his own and nothing happened, but they all need to understand that God's judgment is the ultimate, Look at Pa Jakande today, the only example of selfless leadership remaining..He's aging gracefully,He served and led with conscience ..Where is IBB with all the money he looted,...God's judgement will commence from here (on earth). Transiting without a visa You might be eligible for ‘transit without visa’ if:
you arrive and depart by air have a confirmed onward flight that leaves on the day you arrive or before midnight on the day after you arrive have the right documents for your destination (eg a visa for that country) One of the following must also apply:
you’re travelling to (or on part of a reasonable journey to) Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA and have a valid visa for that country you’re travelling from (or on part of areasonable journey from) Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA and have a valid visa for that countryttps://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y/nigeria/transit/somewhere_else/yes Thanks ! |
