Christianity Etc › Re: I'll Believe In Evolution Theory Only If Someone Can Explain This To Me by taurus25(m): 10:17am On Oct 28, 2016 |
First off, humans didn't evolve from monkeys. We evolved alongside monkeys, from a common ancestor who has been extinct for a hundred million years. Think of monkeys as our evolutionary cousins, rather than our evolutionary grandparents.
Fossils for in between species of hominoids from the great apes(our common ancestors) to our specie are very common.
Evolution does not necessarily have a "goal" or occur in a straight direction as you might think, evolution makes the best adapted specie for the environment that it can.
To some extent, ALL species are intermediate species. Any species that is found is simply the intermediary between one previous species and one species that it will develop into in the future. |

The earth is not a circle, its not perfectly round. The shape of the earth is oblate speroid- a sphere that is squashed at its poles and swollen at the equator. |

I rest my case here What are you even saying. Nobody has ever claimed that theres life outside earth for sure. But all observation suggest that there may be life elsewhere in the universe. Do you have a problem with this? |
Christianity Etc › Re: All Atheist Must Read This by taurus25(m): 9:11pm On Oct 25, 2016 |
peacesamuel94: I asked a question the least you could do is give an answer, I laid emphasis on HUMAN life, so i would love to know of the planets were humans are currently living normal lives just like we have here on planet earth.
It is not a sin to upgrade one's knowledge level as someone has said earlier. thanks in advance. ok fair enough. What gives you the idea that there must be HUMANS in an extraterristrial planet?. As far as we know, species evolve to adapt to their environment. So if there is any life form outside earth, dont expect that much similarity to us. Recently, scientists have discovered thousands of planet outside our solar system, many of them similar to earth in terms of size and closeness to its host star. This may suggest that life similar to ours can exist some where else in the universe. There has never been a direct observation of aliens, but all evidence point to the possibility of their existence. |

peacesamuel94: funny, christians believe God created the universe, but do not have absolute knowledge of how he did it.
Atheist like you, believe it to be the big bang, but it appears your knowledge of how it started is not conclusive. So what differentiates you from the christians whom you mock for claming to know all, yet you parade an incomplete theory as the máster guide of earth's origin.
You Claim not to know all, Yet your confidence in the fallibility of every other possible answer to how the universe came about except yours, is a big contradiction to your initial stand.
I believe it sounds more logical to believe That a conscious, supreme being is responsible for earth's creation, rather than to believe that an uncaused explosion for no reason whatsoever generated the universe and all it contains. which means everything on earth as well as earth itself, came about by COINCIDENCE.
But here comes my question: IF TRULY WE CAME BY COINCIDENCE, WHY IS IT THAT EARTH, OF ALL THE COUNTLESS PLANETS IN THE UNIVERSE IS THE ONLY ONE CAPABLE OF COMPLEX LIFE, (PRECISELY HUMAN LIFE). because if it were just a coincidence then at least it would have happened over an again.
I promise to end the questions after your reply, thanks and goodluck! One can either be ignorant innocently or willfully ignorant. The big bang is a fact, whether you like it or not. Because we dont know how it began doesnt mean god did it. Absense of evidence for one thing is not presense of evidence for another. You can claim a supreme creator exists, you wont be the first, generations before you have had various versions of a creator. But where is the evidence for the existence of one? Where did anyone say the universe began from nothing? IF TRULY WE CAME BY COINCIDENCE, WHY IS IT THAT EARTH, OF ALL THE COUNTLESS PLANETS IN THE UNIVERSE IS THE ONLY ONE CAPABLE OF COMPLEX LIFE, (PRECISELY HUMAN LIFE). This is ridicoulus , where exactly or rather who ever confirmed the earth is the only planet capable of complex life. |

jonbellion: it's quite simple. Because the religious answers make no sense. I find it hard to believe that a woman was formed from the rib of a man and that they and deceived by a talking snake and engaged in inbreeding to populate a world that was later destroyed so then they engaged in inbreeding again with the surviving humans. It sounds like a myth infact it is myth. It is no different from the creation myths of other cultures. Adam did not name all the animals in the world. The animals all did not live in a garden at first and there was definitely not a boat that was created by 8 unskilled people that was able to harbor all the animals in the world. In other world histories there was civilisation during the time of the great flood. At the same time I can't say if we were created or not I'd have to know everything to outrightly say there is no God but I just feel that the religious versions of God is simply not the answer. The Abrahamic God is far from the definition of a perfect being. A perfect being is supposed to be better than humans. A perfect being is not supposed to operate on ego like the Abrahamic God. The Abrahamic God is just simply man made If there is a creator or not we simply don't know. Agnostism is the best stand Excellent breakdown |

Thats just an appetizer in the bounquets of contradictions contained in the bible. Abrahamic gods clearly exhibits human emotions and behaviours
To me, im not suprised because the writers of the bible wrote from their level of human and emotional intelligence.
The books are scientifically poor and inaccurate, mysogynistic, tribaliatic, racist, in many cases lunatic. All of these which are epitomes of the human societies when they were written. |

peacesamuel94: so atheists are confused as to how we came about? so why the choice to become atheists in the first place when the knowledge you have about the universe and it origin are inconclusive. Scientifically, we have gone very far in piecing the puzzle of exactly how we came to be, were almost there, we arent confused . There's no single evidence for gods existence, all we have are wild assumptions and gap fillers. Thats why almost every culture had their god ideas before the abandonment of many of them due to increase in scientific knowledge. |

seems holy ghost authors confusion afterall some do. some dont. And these are people who all learn from ONE holy spirit. Christainity, as well as other religions are one big fat joke. |

winner01: Man would not end up there. Some men would willfully through their personal volition, end up there. When i said Man, i didnt mean all men. Or do you not think some men would end up in hell? , if you do, do you think yahweh knew?. The concept of freewill only makes sense if "god" is not omniscient. Because if he is, of all possible decisions or choices man makes, the outcomes are already known beforehand, this makes freewill only an illusion. i do not have the answers to reconcile Gods Omniscient ability with the fall of man, and neither does any human on earth have the answers to all the questions of humanity. Omniscience by definition, is the ability to know all there is. If yahweh is omniscient, then he knew of the fall of man. I admit my limits and will not for such reason deny the existence of God. If the concept of any god is inconsistent or fallible, then such a god is never far away from being a common myth. I dont know if a creator exists or not, but if one does, its definetely not a contradictory one. |

winner01: We dont fear Hell, we have no reason to. We fear God. Fear here is translated from.the word "yirat" which means reverence. We reverence God.
Hell exists and was not created for man. If you wish it away, it does not change anything.
God is all loving and is also a God of Justics.
He is a lamb and He is a lion.
We dont think about hell. I personally dont think about hell as much as I think about heaven.
Do you have any new arguments or is it still this stale arguments you can bring forth Whether hell was not intended for man or not, before the first words of creation was said, an OMNISCIENT being, in this case, yahweh you belive in, would have known that man would end up there. If with such knowledge of future events, yahweh still created hell, then, he is not OMNIBENOVELENT. |
