Mafia4life:Lol. What kind of apps exactly does you Army boss need? There are converters that convert .jar files into .cod and .alx that u can then install on the bb using the desktop manager. Although not as plentiful as those for nokias there are free apps on the net for blackberrys just use google that's where your BIS comes in, surf the web and download what you need. There are fun themes too that are free. You have been given an unlimited access to the internet, flex it and download as you please. |
You're welcome bro. Anytime |
You can get bolt browser. to dowload it unto your phone, use google. |
hello. on your phone bb browser go to the address http:// mini.opera.com . it will automatically detect your phone type and present u with the opera to download. cheers |
Mafia4life:Just to clear a misconception here, whatsapp, 2go and other messenging apps work on blackberry too. that being said, I personally got a blackberry coz i'm a heavy internet user n downloader. the unlimited downloads at a relatively cheap price is what killed it for me. I think blackberrys will continue being popular amongst service providers because the bb compresses data unlike the Iphone and nokia web browsers and as such it is good news for the networks. i once read something like the data consumed by 1 iphone is equivalent to that of about 50 or so bb users(not too sure abt d figure but I remember its much). I dont think any service provider will give people unlimited downloads on an Iphone for d same price as a BIS, that will be invitation for suicide as doz iphones can wreck havock if care is not taken .And as BIS prices go down (they are bound to drop) more people will join d bb wagon. IMO, anyone who is not a heavy internet user and has a bb is a waste coz there are better alternatives available. then again, some people treasure the BBMessenger so much. the value of a product lies not in the amount you paid for it but it's sentimental value. so different strokes for different folks. |
Mcleo007:What OS version are you running? If still on 4.sumtn try upgrade to OS 5. |
cecegorz:In that case, the problem isn't your settings. its from almighty Airtel itself. i am having the same problems. i think Airtel BIS is officially crapped out right now. you can either wait for them to get their act together or u can throw away your sim and bail out like many are doing. ![]() |
Lol. Can you browse with the zain normally on the bb browser and opera? Are they connecting fine? |
^^^ Thanks boss. May you be blessed with plentiful wives and children. ![]() |
as far as i know, access point should be ; internet.ng.zain.com or internet.ng.airtel.com. try the two. then leave username and password blank or try "internet" as username and "internet" as password works too. |
cecegorz:the old settings was internet.ng.zain.com as APN. the new APN is internet.ng.Airtel.com. the old one still works for some people though. try the new APN and if it doesnt work then you know the problem is from Airtel. Me I cant even browse with my Airtel now. |
from what i've heard, i've not seen any download limit for etisalat. no such info on their website and i've not heard of a download limit from friends who use etisalat. calling their customer care should help clear the air. |
Mcleo007:Try out etisalat. about the streaming, I wonder how u do that but if its any help u can use m.vuclip.com it helps me download videos from several sites including youtube instead of streaming them over slow connections. |
I think this things are location specific , I do not experience what you experience on your glo at alllll, it works normal(not perfect). even when the network is down ,its never for up to 10 min (maybe except when am not looking) . But I guarantee you will be tempted to hurl your phone against the wall if you try mtn here . From what I have been reading around , I think etisalat is the most consistent across the country
You are right bro. And thats why i'll advice anyone to try out 1 day BIS of any network in their locality. before subscribing for a month. |
Krayola:Hello. Please what book are you talking about? is there anywhere I can download the book coz I doubt such books will be on sale in naija. thanks Mr purist can you help me with the book too? ![]() |
thehomer:Thank you Mr homer |
Mcleo007:You're very welcome bro. Thanks for confirming Operamini works on MTN BIS. concerning your problem I dont get it. are you saying when Edge comes up on your BB it doesnt browse? thats really wierd. you can try this in such occassions. go to manage connections and switch off your mobile network then switch it on again. this just enables your bb to re-register n i've found out it it usually helps antime i'm experiencing a network lag in browsing. you can try etisalat. i hear they maintain good edge network. get their I day BIS and see. |
Use glo and have no regrets , all browsers and applications work fine. But I really can't wait to go back to my nokia(got spoilt, now with nokia care). It does all I do with my BB at a considerably lower cost.
Glo is a terrible network, they never have a stable service. i can tell you that in every month there will be at least 1 week with NO GPRS service. they are that erratic. @OP I feel your pain. AIRTEL BIS is just terrible. I'll advice you to go for etisalat or MTN. as I'm typing right now, I have 2 BIS subscriptions Running one GLO and One AIRTEL. I can confidently tell you BOTH are not working now. I am posting with my MTN on BOLT using PAYG. Glo, gprs has disappeared for over 48hours now and Airtel/zain despite having full bars thats bursting outta my phone, I cant even open common google. Its been that bad with Zain/AIRTEL ever since I activated I have NOT browsed for more than 5mins at a stretch without disconnection. This is just terrible. My advice to you guys is if you want to migrate to any networks BIS just first subscribe fo r the one day BIS and test it. 400 naira can save you alot of heartache. |
thehomer:Pls give me a link to the video page on Youtube or better the Title of the video so I can search it out. I'm on mobile and can't see embeded videos. Thanks |
Who here uses MTN BIS, can you please confirm if operamini works with MTN BIS? Because since MTN blocked servers for operamini I was wondering if it affected opera on BIS too. So, anyone pls? |
Airtel's Internet service is TOTAL RUBBISH. You have FULL bars but slow or no connectivity. Be careful everyone before you commit your cash. |
olsmade:Since the error was still same when u inserted your sim into another bb then I guess the problem is with your SIM/LINE. Have you checked your message centre number to confirm its correct? If your message center number is wrong on your SIM you won't be able to send SMS's. |
Mcleo007:This is a satanic lie. Zain has a download limit of 1GB and as a present subscriber I tell you Zain BIS is the worst I've come across quality of service wise. Glo is even better with 1.5GB limit. The only advantage with Zain is you can tether with ur pc and that's if u can even see the network to connect. My advice to you is to try it in your locality by subscribing for the 1 day BIS and flex it before u commit your money for a month. My regret is I didn't test it out, if I did, I won't be lamenting today. Hope this helps you. |
nedu2000:Use m.vuclip.com , you'll be able to download youtube videos. Hope that helps |
Can you please upload your photoshop tutorials on 4shared? Thanks |
hi, pls help me with unlock code for this blackberry 8520 with imei nobr 353488042280867 with etisalat nigeria software. thanks |
How much extra will it cost to get it to my location? And do those blackberries work with our gsm frequencies in nigeria? I heard the frequency used in the US and nigeria are different. |
Thank you for your response. Pls does the price include delivery to my location which is calabar? |
lestat:Hi, 1 rand is 22 naira not 2 naira. So 250 rand = N5,500. Just thought you should know. |
