Once you throw away all this bullshit about heaven or hell. You begin to see life in a clearer perspective you begin to appreciate this world because you know once you die, thats the end. You thrive to live a meaningful life and try your best to do good.

Lemme guess, You nearly died but jesus speared your life and now you are a born again convert.
Its a common story. The fear of death is one of the strongest tools the creators of religion used to enslave man.
Everybody must die, its a natural thing, sooner or later and because of our poverty and poor healthcare system you would most likely than not die before 45 if you a man and 50 if you are a woman.
Senior, I notice something. Most unbelievers I know do not fear death. I do not think that is a coincidence.

So when he ascended back to heaven did he take his flesh along with him or did he shed his flesh while ascending.

Bro, the earlier you started using religious script as a story book, the better for you.(you know, like Tortoise story from our childhood) If I tell you I read the Bible, you will be surprised; right? Ofcourse I do read Proverbs and Ecclesiastes (while ignoring Yahweh mentions) wink. The dude that wrote that part of the Torah is one hell of a 'street wise' smart bas.tar.d.
Once you finally un-tethered yourself from the comfort of religion, that is when you will understand life fully.
On your question, I do not debate or argue religion again; I just smile and say: "GOOD FOR YOU"

By the way, an advise from a 'tele tele' in this your situation. Nutters and blockheads full this country, you can be harmed by voicing some of what you wrote here in real life. Let your quest and all be on social media and Nairaland; in the outside world, abeg hold you peace.

@OP ignore all these religious nutters and follow your heart. By the way, try and read this book: Superstition in All Ages by Jean Meslier ; you will get a clearer picture of religion and the purpose it serves.

Bad news

I thought PDP play dirty politics until APC came on board to show how dirtier politics can be played. Am sure PDP guys are feeling like leaners now. Saraki needs to get used to the fact that he is going down. The powers ganged up against him are too formidable for him to contend with.
On the flip side I just pity this Danladi of a guy. He is still a learner in Nigeria politics. After he is done playing out the script given to him. Either of two things will happen.

His masters will see him as a potential problem. They will bring him down, if he escapes them those presently hurt by his actions will come for him some day no matter the time it takes.

He acts like he is brave and daring but I think he is a mere chicken.

Am just a spectator enjoying the intriguing drama

Nice observation, especially that of the Danladi of a fellow; that guy is a gonner. If you are in the CCT and see how he abused people, people who can make and mar destinies. But I have one reservation.
I do not think Saraki is going down. Oloye does not look like who will go down alone; he would rather scatter APC into pieces and return to the fold when the cup if full (If you know what I mean). Personally, I believe APC as a party will look back and regret not putting a stop to this Saraki's fight. Something tells me it is gonna get more dirty and messy.

NYSCNYSC Members Sacked And Evicted For Resisting Corruption by tchaik(op): 7:57pm On Apr 01, 2015
In the course of my business yesterday, I entered an office and came across a petition written by a serving NYSC member. After reading the petition (an acknowledgement copy), I felt so terribly disgusted with the system and decided to do something about it, at least sharing it online might force the authorities to do something about this. I had to ‘scan’ the letter with my phone to avoid detection, pardon me if the clarity is compromised. I have taken the pains to reproduce the petition for easy legibility.

No. 11 Crescent,
P.O.BOX 729,
Asaba, Delta State

19/03/2015

The Registrar,
West Africa Examination Council.

Through the Abuja Zonal Office,
Abuja Zonal Office,
Secretariat Road,
Gwagwalada,
P.M.B 67, Garki,
Abuja, FCT.

Dear Sir,

COMPLAINT AGAINST THE UNETHICAL AND CORRUPT PRACTISES BEING CARRIED OUT IN CENTRAL DEMONSTRATION COLLEGE IDIKU-OKPOMA, YALA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF CROSS RIVER STATE, AND BEING ORCHESTRATED BY THE PROPRIETOR, MR. CHRISTOPHER USHIE.

APPEAL FOR YOUR URGENT INTERVENTION AND INVESTIGATION

It is with heavy heart and a great sense of responsibility which I owed my conscience, God, and above all, to my country Nigeria and her great future, that I write this letter of complaint. My name is Onwuma Kanebi George, a batch ‘B’ National Youth Service Corps member, presently serving in Cross River State, with state code: CR/14B/0621, and my place of primary assignment being Central Demonstration College, Idiku-Okpoma, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

This complaint is to expose the pervasive, disturbingly corrupt practice and criminal proposition being carried out by the officials and teachers of Central Demonstration College, Idiku-Okpoma; headed and orchestrated by the Proprietor Mr Christopher Ushie, and disdainfully foisted, against their better judgement and objection, on the unsuspecting and hapless NYSC members.

Sequel to the forthcoming WAEC, the school authority, supervised and managed by the Proprietor Mr Christopher Ushie, mandated and compelled WAEC candidates to pay the sum of N 12,000 (Twelve Thousand Naira) each as “cooperation fee”. This indecent fee is to enable the institution, examiners and invigilators ‘corroborate’, facilitate and ensure that each candidate passes the examination, by hook or crook. Simply put, the agenda is to facilitate examination malpractice. The heart wrenching part of this ugly development was that indigent students that cannot afford the ‘cooperation’ fee were prevented from coming to school until the said money is paid. This is wickedness of the highest order and should not be ignored whatsoever.

Sir, no matter how one looks at this scenario, it is ignoble to ignore this travesty of the highest order; an act every man/woman of good will should take an exception to, stand firm and absolutely make sure it is thwarted. What kind of leaders of tomorrow are we breeding, that pupils now have to pay ‘cooperation fee’ in an educational institution, to education officials to coordinate subversion of the norm, and through malpractice, pass a government administered examination? Pupils like these, will obviously ‘sort’ their way through high institutions and come put as under-cooked graduates, an ugly development that is now rampart in our educational sector. Besides, the school in question has no science laboratory or technical workshop, a few inexperience and half-baked teachers (which are largely complemented by NYSC members).

Our vehement objection to the payment of illegal N12,000 (Twelve Thousand Naira) each as “cooperation fee” by the students ignited a chain of traumatising events that have put us (coppers) in a great deal of pain, frustration and suffering. Firstly, on hearing of our concern on the “cooperation” fee from the Principal, the first thing the Proprietor did was to summon us to his office and threatened to deal with us for questioning his authority and trying to run his school for him. Mr. C. Ushie, berated us severally and ticked us off for not “minding our own coppers business”; that he does not care if we petition him, in his own voice; “I am the chairman of malpractice”.

In a feeble attempt to salvage an already spiralling situation, we (NYSC members) reported the incident to our Local Inspector (LI). This turned out to be our greatest undoing as on the next day, the Proprietor yet again, summoned us and blatantly told us that for daring to report him, that he will make us regret crossing him. He then ordered us to leave his school. The reprimand did not stop there, the next day (12/3/2015), the school Principal issued us a query from the school and instructed us to reply same within 24 hours. The said query is attached to this correspondence.

I replied my own query the next day and on attempting to dully submit same, the Proprietor ordered the security officials to bundle us off his property, that he does not need our services any longer. It is so unfortunate and degrading; to say the least, that serving NYSC members were bundled off like common thieves from their place of primary assignment, only because they objected to corrupt practice. We immediately called our LI and intimated him on the recent development. He came to the school and tried to assuage the Proprietor, but when that seems to be yielding no fruit, he pleaded with us to leave the school, that we will make sure we get a replacement as soon as possible. At this juncture, it is imperative to state that going by the interaction between the LI and the Proprietor, one can comfortably insinuate that the duo’s relationship transcend above formal.

We left the school and went back to our lodge, while waiting for the LI to “fix” the situation as he promised to do. The waiting did not last long. On Tuesday, 17/3/2015, a team of police men came to our lodge and informed us that they have been ordered to remove us from the property by the owner. The coppers’ lodge was provided for by the school, it houses NYSC member doing their PPA in the school. Our efforts to explain the delicate nature of our situation to the overzealous police men fell on deaf ears as we were forcefully evicted from the lodge. I tried to and indeed did capture the incident with my phone when a police man who noticed my action came and forcibly seized my phone. After much pleading, he accepted to return the phone but on the condition that I shall delete every picture in the phone. I complied and my phone was returned to me. Suddenly, NYSC members were jobless and homeless for daring to speak out in the face of evil.

This petition is to bring to your notice, the level of depravity that an academic institution has descended into, and the length the perpetrators can go to achieve and cover their nefarious scheme. As a corps member, I do not have any capability whatsoever to change an age long practice, but I do have the ability to speak out against foul scheme and complain to the relevant authorities.

Dear Sir, I heartily urge you to use your exalted office and the inherent powers therein, to investigate, sanction and if possible, prosecute any individual found guilty of corrupt and criminal misconduct. Evil thrives in a society only when the few righteous refuse to stand against it.

Yours in service to humanity,

PoliticsUnforgotten Past. by tchaik(op): 2:12am On Jan 15, 2015
45 years ago, Nigeria ended the only and deadliest civil conflict since her existence. Reportedly, more than 3 million people died, the index consists mainly of children and women, the cause mainly bullet and starvation. The human casualty of this 30 months war is far greater than the present mayhem being carried out by Boko Haram for a couple of years now; let us not dabble into the statistics. And the kicker is that more 90% of the victims of that conflict were from a particular ethnic group.

It is disturbingly worrisome that the Government and people of Nigeria do not want to revisit this dark past in our chequered history. The incident (it should be called an incident until an official term is fixed for it; whether war or better still, genocide) had been relegated to the recycle bin of history and no one, absolutely none wants to restore it to what it was: a dark, hunting and divisive past of our nationhood. The Biafra war is a major event that redefined our nationhood, and should not be consigned to the background. Nobody wants to discuss the series of events that led to the conflict, the actual prosecution of the warfare and the occurrence thereof, and finally, the post-war period and subsequent governmental policies and declarations. Undeniably, nobody.

All one often hear is: “it is the past”, “it has happened”, “it is done, no victor no vanquished”; are you kidding me? Nigerians (and Africans generally) do not learn from history. As once said by a certain wise man; “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Recent times in other climes, whenever a great misfortune and human mistakes led to a conflict and warfare, after the calamity and fight, they go back and analyse the causal effects of such events, official pronouncements are made, each party takes responsibility of their actions or inactions as the case maybe, and everybody learns from the experience and it is remembered and marked. Suffice it to point out that such incidents are marked not because it is funfair and ceremonious to remember a warfare as one does his birthday or wedding ceremony. A nation marks and remembers her disturbing past not because it is pleasant, but because future generations yet unborn totally needs to learn and know what happened so that HISTORY WILL NOT REPEAT IT SELF.

But no, not my dear country. We continually live in denial of our past and often prefer to “move on”, whatever that means. People died; fathers, mothers, children; animousity is bred and future generations will never learn what truly happened to their progenitors. Without an official theme, position and statements, the events are continuously altered and skewered to suit some side (depends on which source), the bitterness, hatred and discontent grows and take deep root, thereby extending the divisive crack threatening the unity of this country.

We often hear and visit places like Arlington Memorial, WW 1& 2 memorials, Vietnam memorial, (even 9/11 has a memorial in its remembrance) and many other war memorials where nations come together to reminisce and denounce what happened, so that the event shall never repeat again. Often do you hear clauses about Nigeria dividing or war breaking out in the near future if this occurs, or if that fails to take place. The elites and ruling group, the masses and the officious bystander would have chosen lighter rhetorics or more friendly tone if we, as a nation, ever learnt anything from the only war that happened decades ago. As we have refused to learn from history, let us hope that we do not repeat the same history we stubbornly refused to learn from.

You are entitled to your humble opinion, but the enlightened OP explained his methods without referring to any religious books; and in my own humble opinion (which I think I am entitled to), is more pragmatic, factual, effective, conclusive and practicable than the scriptures. Moreso, biblical quotations might work for christians, but how about billions of others? mathew71:
Let me start by stating that the concept of Good and bad exists only in our mind. Nothing is Good nor Bad. It is, only when you say it is....(Topic of another day)

first thing first! Know that habit is a function of the WILL and WILL of the mind.

An inquisitive mind will now ask, What then is the WILL and HABIT?
The WILL is the conscious application of an unconscious impulse. That been said, a habit may then be referred to as the physical or mental impulse that has been unconscious adopted. Hmmm. How?

When you voluntarily repeat an act, it constitutes a WILL and becomes a LAW for the mind. This is how habit is formed. Note: Every WILL MUST manifest or get transformed. (Could this be the reason why most religion advocate for prayer recitation).. Thought!

Exercise:
Endeavour to urinate immediately you wake up whether pressed or not for 7 consecutive day. On the 8th day, the son of man will become pressed immediate after waking. Nature automates every repeated actions by its arm of compensation....share your testimony !!

Some readers can not still find the topic so far.. Have I deviated.. Well, everything is related!!
Let find how!

The LAW of Displacement!!!
Th WILL can always be transformed which will in turn transform the habit to Gold if you like.

Exercise: Anytime the impulse of the unwanted habit comes knocking, Identify a positive action, moment, idea, personality that you so cherish and occupy your thought with it. If its an action, start doing it. If its subjective, occupy your mind with it. ( I have used +ve and -ve here to affirm my first statement). Do this repetedly , religiously and passionately, a new LAW for your mind will be formed, your will transformed and the wanted Habit transmuted.

Nothing is easy, so is this. Unserious attempts may fails but with passionate attempts, a new "YOU" will be moulded. (Nothing is created nor destroyed remember)

It works for me, am sure it will work for you if you want.

Best wishes for Peace Profound.

Which faith are you people talking about? You are a Christian only because you are born in Eastern Nigeria or in Western Nigeria or in Europe or America. If you were born by parents who are Sokoto indigenes, you will be a Muslim today.

If Pope Francis was born in Saudi Arabia by Saudi indigenes, today he will be a Muslim. Also, if the king of Saudi Arabia and the Sheikh of Qatar were born in Owerri by Catholic parents, today they will both be staunch Catholics.

These religious bigots are just over the whole place. The whitemen brought their religions to colonize us. Imaging so-call Christian missionaries capturing our fore-fathers, chaining them down and transporting them to whiteman's land to work as slave. And you call them missionaries of God. The same way Usmand Dan Fodio waged war in the North in order to capture the North in the name of Islam even when Northern Nigeria by then was already practicing Islam. The whitemen came to tell us that our gods are evil and their god is good, yet the God the exported to us killed more people in the Bible and the Quran than the people all our gods (ogun, sango, obatala, oya, amadioha, okija e.t.c.) put together have been accused of killing.

I am a Muslim because I was born into Islam, my wife is a Christian because she was born into Christianity. We are happy together. You all practice one religion or the other because you were born into it. How many of us researched into all the religions of the world before concluding that the one you currently practice is the best. You cannot just have idea about one thing and say that it is the best in the world, until you compare and contract it with all others. ogun and sango worshipers are living peacefully with each other and you tell me that Christians and Muslims that are also at each others throat are better than ogun and sango worshippers.

Was later to join Ogboni for money, did all he was required but the money wasn't coming earnestly until he met a 'bad' friend who introduced him to a lodge master in Lagos. He ran back to his base to gather money for the requisite ritual to enable his initiation for quest of wealth, fortunately met 2 eager friends of his who were also interested in the quest for 'quickie' if he eventually succeed in his quest. They raised enough cash for him and he travelled back to Lagos to get things done. Successfully, he was handed a Ghana must go bag full of cash with a promise that the money will never deplete if only he will do the needful...kill his only surviving mother by spending the money. How? Go with the money and if you'd decide on the term, spend the money but if not return it but with a caveat: "No one had successfully returned the money after collecting it alive".
Boy took money and headed to his hometown, Nnewi. Already priced a Nissan Murano to hit his village but considered otherwise...he did want to pay his mom a last visit before he spends the money knowing spending will kill the woman instanta. On his way home from his hotel room in Nnewi, a 10kilometre to his village, he encounter an unusual happenings but persisted going to see the mom...entering home and seeing her mom, boy cut liver and confessed and mom ask her to return the money but he feared and told his mom the repercussion but mom being a strong Christian insists. Boy successfully returned the money to the lodge and lodge master couldn't believe his eyes...Obinna, people who try returning this money dies in fatal accident on their way here, how come you said the lodge master.

The boy who use to run errand for me is safe and alive today, and a preacher of the gospel while one of the guy that contributed money for the initiation died mysteriously. The other had his car burnt mysterious, his child died too, his shop burnt and his wife left him.

A true life experience shared with me by a boy previously running errands for me
Story for the gods. #tell it to the marines.

harryfish: Pls its not a rumour. It really happened. @awada in obosi anambra state.
@ post: OP I think if you believe really that satan the devil has power then you should also know that he can use his power to give his desciples riches. The only thing I know is that nothing comes from the devil that is free. I remember an Anambra business man (BESSOY) back then who said in a newspaper in the early 90's that he begged God several times for riches but he refused then he went to satan and he gave him riches. He must have his reasons for saying such.
1) Any man that tells you he did ogwu ego definitely do not want to tell you the source of his funds ( for obvious reasons)! #FACT

2) Which of these is easier to do:

a) Carry weapon and enter banking hall, shootout with mopol, threaten bank officials, get access to the vault and help yourself; not
forgetting the most dangerous part: escape route.

b) Kidnap one young school gurl, cut off her breast and Veejay, buy some spirits and kola to baba grin, do some rituals and viola; you
do hammer be that.
