[quote author=kjhova post=12027144]I don't know if the Minister should be saying such or not. But what he said is not far from truth!
Take this comparison listed below:
GDP: S/A is a member nation of BRICS while Nigeria is nowhere near that standard yet. Energy: S/A generates 50,000MW of electricity while Nigeria's 4,500MW! Fuels: S/A exports refined pet. products while Nigeria imports refined products. Forces: S/A armed forces basic equipment (guns, ammo, boats, helicopters, tanks, electronic gadgets) are produced locally by Armscor while Nigerian army still use AK-47. Manufacturing: S/A's industrial output is rated by CIA.org as almost twice d entire African continent including Nigeria. Investment: J'burg Stock Exchange (JSE) is more capitalized than the rest of subsaharan Africa combined. Banking: S/A's top two banks; Standard & 1st Rand are bigger than the entire Nigerian banking industry in terms of capital base, reach, turnover & profits. Our StanbicIBTC is owned by Standard. They don't even have the technology for making the engine of J-15 jet they are flying (It's Russia supplied but difficult to reverse engineered). The only deterrence they have is nuclear weapon. I think this century is still, substantially, an American century. Are you sure? |

kjhova: Truth be told dude, as long as we have Alhaji Damboroba's, Mr. Chris Brown's & "shief" Tanimola's running the NFF, our football will continue to be run in circles! Can u imagine that everybody connected to football in Nigeria make money (e.g. Magazines, radio, TV stations, individual journos etc) except the NFF themselves who actually hold the juiciest marketable assets?
The Super Eagles, all other national teams, Federations Cup, Nigeria Premier League, National Pro-League, Super Cup etc are combined assets that should fetch the NFF at least N20Billion p.a. if properly ran!! True |

[quote author=kjhova post=49973125]The comments should not even be about the right or wrong of selling the two stadiums but rather about the workability of the plan. The critical issue I observe here is the possible inability of the government to find buyers at acceptable price. Put yourself in the position of the probable buyer and the following questions will come to mind;
a) How much should I pay for this facility. b) How much will the maintenance cost annually? c) What sporting competitions can generate enough funds to cover the cost of acquisition and keep the facility profitable going forward?
The reason why government find it dificult to maintain this stadiums will be the same reason why most potential buyers will stay clear unless the purchase deal permits the buyers to convert the facilities to non-sporting commercial structures (e.g. If I buy the National Stadium at Surulere, Lagos for N8.5B, I will rather convert the main bowl to a ground for social & religious rallies rather than reno |

[quote author=kjhova post=53025064]Well, this why they are protesting:
1- Trump had 2m+ votes less than Clinton and therefore lost the popular vote. This situation feeds the existing dislike of some for the electoral college system of US elections.
2- Trump ran a divisive campaign which if he carries through with his promises, it is expected to be detrimental to many minorities including; coloured folks, the poor, immigrants, muslims, women, LGBT etc.
3- Trump is threatening to scrap the existing world order which has guaranteed global peace since WW2. This is a scary situation for many Europeans, Japanese, Koreans etc as their very existence as independent and free peoples depend on the existing order.
4- Trump has shown disdain for the climate change campaign and called it a farce. This is alarming to all conservationists and scientists.
5- Trump has promised to scrap the Affordable Care Act and has not offered any assuring replacement plan. This poses a risk of loosing their health cove |

Any African who is in celebratory mood about Donald Trump's actions in the last few days is either misguided or at best misinformed. That's like a Jewish citizen of Ukraine supporting Hitler in the early 1930s. Here's why:
1) America is a democracy and democracies thrive on consensus and not unilateral acts. Trump's 5 executive orders in one week is unprecedented as most presidents rather refer to Congress on divisive issues.
2) America first is a raw and unadulterated term for disregard for any other peoples of the world. This is why president Trump suggested this week that US should have drained Iraq's oil when they defeated Saddam. This is pure disregard to Iraqi people who would need this oil to rebuild their country.
3) Cancellation of the affordable care act will toss more than 20million poor folks out of their needed health cover. Most of the |

I am against personal names on that very ground thou, that the new owner will have little choice than to rename the outfit. So had it been FC Owerri, it will be more compelling to keep the name and the brand. Sports business thrive on brand names and this matters on the long run. See how easy it was for Unilag folks to make FG back down on renaming the institution just cuz the brand attachment was so strong.

[quote author=kjhova post=53441212]The arrest in Nigeria of the UK-based Radio Biafra “director” Nnamdi Kanu last year has brought to the fore the clamour for a separatist Biafran nation. The rise of Kanu, and his movement, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, shows that unless the issue is tackled at its root, newer, more sophisticated movements among ever-younger generations demanding Biafra will keep rising.
This report does not make a case either for or against the independence of the Igbo people of Nigeria. The purpose of this report is to empirically examine Biafra, its history, its viability, the level of support it enjoys and objectively provide a case for or against Biafran secession...
Outside of the oil debate, the Biafra nation lacks the financial markets infrastructure that is required to support the economy. It would have to develop a financial capital from scratch – probably at Onitsha, a busy market town.
Currently, all of Nigeria’s banks are headquartered in Lagos. It is hard to se |

kjhova: Another important way that pastors can avoid scandal is to come clean with the money.
Set up an audit team, standard approval procedure, double level authorization, periodic statements and releases etc.
It is so so immoral to collect offerings and tithes and "seeds" and "first fruits" from parishioners and at the end, these guys have only vague idea how much was collected or what the funds were used for!!
Should the church not have in place a mechanism to inform the members monthly, weekly etc about; total collections, operational costs, expenses, remittance to head quarters, acquisitions, savings and balance brought forward? And if the church took a bank loan, should the members not have an idea of the loan amount, current balances, repayment, past dues, tenure and purpose??
That all churches keep the bulk of their financial activities away from their members is the very reason why I am a happy atheist and consider church a kind of ponzi scheme!!! .Smh |

First off, it is Rwanda. Then especially, that country didn't "fight war for many years" as you suggest.
Yes there was notorious ethnic clashes from the fifties, low level rebellion by Tutsis from camps in Uganda and of course those 100 days in the raining season of 1994 when 900,000 people were lost to ethnic cleansing. These do not equate to your statement above suggesting that Rwanda was war torn for many years. You probably referred to Congo and/or Angola. wrong |
