[quote author=Empredboy post=46429267]This piece makes a lot of sense to me...
It is either I do not understand
economics and how exchange
rates work or a vast majority of
us Nigerians still don’t get how
we have wrecked our country
with our own curious choices.
Just this morning, I was listening
to the radio and the lady on air
went on and on about how she
thought CBN governor, Godwin
Emefiele was incompetent and
should be sacked because the
Naira was now exchanging at
309 or so to the USD.
“That view pretty much echoes
the sentiments expressed by
many people I know and it
amazes me that there are
Nigerians who actually think
there is some magic POLICY that
can make the Naira strong in the
near term. If my economics and
my understanding of the way the
world works are right, then that is
as far from the truth as Jesus
Christ is black.
“The simple fact of the matter is
that apart from oil that accounts
for over 90% of our revenues, we
really don’t |

[quote author=Empredboy post=65119234]what are you saying? when I gained admission into OAU in 1998 we were paying #90 for school fees and #130 for accommodation. in university or higher institution they are made to generate income too for them selves and that's why some school have bakery, farms, TV and radio station. the questions you ought to ask is cant these schools collaborate with their science and engineering dept to produce something that can give then income higher than what the federal government gives? before I graduated there was this science center in Ife where the school intend to use our shit in the school to generate electric light for the school and the near by village. if the school had done that by now they would have covered the whole of ile Ife and it's environs and that would have been a massive income for the school while the school fees will be cheap then the students encouraged to work for or in the school. instead of the school paying high salaries. that would have been |

Kendumazy: Nice one! God bless all teachers. We your past pupils, students can't reward you but May God reward you bountifully! I say this because of lots of teachers that went extra miles to see us better in our studies even when our parents don't care or care less. The teachers were the only ones that believed in us and worked towards it even when we were also thinking learning isn't necessary not until when we grow up and see the beneficial necessities in it.
