Instead of completely abandoning your homeland wouldn't it be better if you found people who have similar views to you and then sought to change things, on a local level or using the available channels...

If everyone did this then the country would be in far better shape...I realise that politics can be messy in Nigeria but the only way forward is for people to be bold(er).
I'mm with you

PoliticsRe: Do We Need to Maintain Huge External Reserves? by tck2000(m): 4:37pm On Jun 28, 2019
0monnakoda:
Foreign reserves are not SAVINGS. They do not BELONG to the Government. Nigeria produces next to nothing and needs forex to pay for our huge appetite for imported goods.
Think OBJECT >Mirror> Image.

The Foreign reserve is the Object and All the Naira in circulation in the image. Without Reserves the Naira is Just a piece of paper.
Actually the naira is a certificate of Federal government Debt and the reserves are what gives that certificate value
So you can see the Reserves do not belong to goverment but to everyone who has Naira. If the foreign reserves disappeared today You might be buying a Coke for 20 Million naira just like Zimbabwe a few years ago
Lol
Nairaland GeneralRe: "If I Were the Richest Person on Earth ..." by tck2000(m): 4:29pm On Jun 28, 2019
Ka:
I'm surprised at the lot of you. Richest person on earth, and all you can think of is buying this car or that house. You know, you could use your money (and the power that it confers on you) to remake the world according to your tastes.

Anyway, if I was the richest person, I would use my money to establish a foundation that would award an annual prize (like the Nobel prize) for the most innovative, wealth creating idea thought of by a young African in that year. The idea is to encourage young Africans to stop the 'follow-follow' trend and start to be inventive and creative.

If there was any money left over, I would offer 1,000 dollars to each person who agreed to walk up and down the main street where he lived and crow like a chicken repeatedly for a week (just to show that human beings will do all sorts of stupid things for money).

CultureRe: Should We Promote Nigerian Languages More? by tck2000(m): 2:24pm On Jun 28, 2019
WesleyanA:
i don't think we should promote the languages. i heard somewhere that nigeria has like 250 languages huh. that's wrong there are larger countries in the world w/ only 1 language. nigeria should have only one language too. it will only increase or promote unity and peace. those 250 languages just make nigeria look like some divided country. how do you communicate when you can't speak the language of someone else. i for example don't even understand what my granma says when i visit sometimes. not that i don't understand yoruba but she speaks it different adn she doesn't speak english. it sucks.

PoliticsRe: Does Ethnicity Matter for Governorship? by tck2000(m): 2:19pm On Jun 28, 2019
Pappy:
i think that one should become governor of a state that he/she was born and or raised in or have been resident for quite some time. This is one major way to reduce "tribalism" (hate that word).
I agree
