TruthHurts100: Lol, you quoted just one scripture to back up this satanic lie. Well, the sponsor of this Bible translation you quoted from, deliberately removed God's name that appeared more than 7000 times from the original manuscript, how do you trust such translation? If na scriptural debate you want, bring it on.
This scripture you quoted in other translations is a direct opposite of your insinuation. For example, the American standard version says : who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Now that I have answered you, pls explain this scripture too.
John 14:28, just see how your KJv made a mockery of itself.
Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
I think this is as clear as the day.
Shalom. First, I am not backing up anything. You are only being defensive. I did not even state my position. I only asked you questions to fully understand your position but as a typical Nairaland Christian, you believe every question is a fight. Secondly you have only added more questions that answers because you need to prove that your translation is correct. Lastly, you never answered my first question. Please Explain how Jesus Christ is the Everlasting Father. Note, the key word, Everlasting. |

TruthHurts100: When you hear the truth, may the devil not close your ears to it.
Many people today believe that God and Jesus are the same. Well, that's not true.
God does not have a beginning, Jesus has. Col 15:1 Refers to Jesus as the first born of all creation. He was created directly by God and that is why he's referred to as the only begotten son of God.
Jesus on numerous occasions calls God his father and that he's here to do the will of the one who sent him. He asked God for permission in prayers to do certain things. When he was about to die, he called to his fathers again.
So, does it make sense to say Jesus sent himself, took permission from himself, pray to himself and most of all sacrifice himself to himself for our sakes?
Yes! Before you tell me Jesus said he and his father are one as written at John 10:30. Note the meaning of what he meant as he used the same term when praying for his Apostles at John 17:11
11And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
Was Jesus talking about equality here? He said they should be one just like he and the father are one.
I rest my case.
If you still want to believe in the trinity lies that was never mentioned in the Bible. You are on your own.
God will not share his glory with anyone, not even Jesus that he created.
I know another scripture you might want to quote.... Bring it on. You ended your presentation by saying bring it on so clearly, you came here with the intention to debate. Let's start with one question, Isiah called Jesus Christ the 'Everlasting Father" what does that mean to you? Also explain this verses below, Philippians 2:5-6 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: |

Sand2022: If you're saying that the 144000 are Israelites, and that these Israelites are the marked ones sent out to gather their brothers, Israelites. Hmm.
Verse 18 says:
18For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. 19 “I will set a sign among them, and I will send some of those who escape to the nations—to Tarʹshish, Pul, and Lud, those who draw the bow, to Tuʹbal and Jaʹvan, and to the faraway islands—who have not heard a report about me or seen my glory; and they will proclaim my glory among the nations.
From that verse, it is clear that those who get the message are people of the nations, not Jews. Am I missing something?
Secondly, remember that those exempted from the "hurt" of Rev 9:4 are those having the mark only. Meaning that others get hurt. Our interpretation should therefore encompass all through christians as God can't smite His own faithful people right?
From your understanding those whom the message is declared to as in verse 19, will be hurt. First we have what the bible tells us about these 144,000 men and then we have the additions of various organizations. So from reading the bible (Not any churches opinion) who are these men? First, we learn that they are all men. Then we learn that they are virgins. We also learn that they are Jesus Christ escort to follow him wherever he goes. Then in Revelations 7.9 we learn that they are not the only ones that would dwell in the presence of God. We are not taught that they are the only men to dwell in heaven. |

Forget this talk about the number of people to enter heaven. Jesus Christ has already told you what to do to qualify for heaven. You need to be born of water and the spirit. You need to overcome. Just do your part and you will qualify for his kingdom. |

emerged01: Is it misconception to believe that all the people who believe in Jesus Christ will make Heaven? According to JW,God selects a limited number of faithful Christians who, after their death, will be resurrected to life in heaven. (1 Peter 1:3, 4) Once they have been chosen, they must continue to maintain a Christian standard of faith and conduct in order not to be disqualified from receiving their heavenly inheritance.—Ephesians 5:5; Philippians 3:12-14. Do you realize that no single verse in the entire bible indicates the number of people who will make heaven? Anyway, I love your honesty, you said according to JW and not according to Christ. |

MrPRevailer: What does "Only Begotten" means? First only Begotten tells you he is not a spirit. The word only Begotten does not translate to Spirit of God. He was Begotten by God and not by Joseph You already read that the spirit of God came from within God so why argue with the word of God. |

MrPRevailer: Please edit your post my friend.
Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God. Can you explain that?
God is invisible to our eyes. So yes, he is a Spirit. I can very easily explain that. But then you did not try to explain the verses I quoted. Now Christ is the only man born of a mother but did not have an earthly Father. The Father responsible for his earthly birth. |

MrPRevailer: Wait! You just agreed that John 1:1-5 is Jesus Christ. "And all things were created by him."
So what are you still arguing,? Who created the world? Isn't it God?
Hahaha, you try but no. The Spirit of man is formed in procreation (after sex). That's one reason why we are gods. And your Spirit proceeds out from you! Gerr it?
No man came out from God. They were created. Jesus came out from God. That means he is the Spirit of God. John 1:1 says he was God and he created all things. Genesis 1:2 the spirit of God This is my second post to you to add more light. Please read Hebrew 12.9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! You learn that Jesus Christ is not the only Spirit Son of God. So if Christ is the Spirit of God, what about all the other spirits that came from God? |

[quote author=MrPRevailer post=120195198]Wait! You just agreed that John 1:1-5 is Jesus Christ. "And all things were created by him."
So what are you still arguing,? Who created the world? Isn't it God? You claimed Jesus is the Spirit . The argument is not about who created all things. Jesus Christ is not the spirit of God. Hahaha, you try but no. The Spirit of man is formed in procreation (after sex). That's one reason why we are gods. And your Spirit proceeds out from you! Gerr it? So let's not depend on our own knowledge. Why don't we Read the scriptures Zechariah 12:1 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord who stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him: Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
No man came out from God. They were created. Jesus came out from God. That means he is the Spirit of God. John 1:1 says he was God and he created all things. Genesis 1:2 the spirit of God . Finally, coming out of God makes Christ the Son of God not the Spirit of God. Now question for you, is God a spirit? |

I remember back then someone was motivating students in a tertiary institution that they shouldn't give up, even if school is hard, there's no way they can just slump and die.
That was many years ago, But can he say that today?
Today, someone will just go to the kitchen to cook, next thing is slump and die.
Someone will go to bath, next thing is slump and die;
Someone will be walking, next thing is slump and die;
Someone will be on the pulpit preaching, next thing is slump and die;
Someone will be jogging, next thing is slump and die;
Someone will be playing football, next thing is slump and die.
There are many other scenarios that calls for concern.
This wasn't like this in the past.
What is wrong? Oga, people have always been fainting and dying only that you were too young to know |

MrPRevailer: You can simply copy and paste it on search bar na? Or just download a bible app.
John 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
John 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. Non of the verses indicate that he was the Spirit of God as you say. My question I, do you have any verse of scripture that calls Jesus Christ the spirit of God or is this just guesswork. Both verses say Jesus came from the Father. That is expected, every son must come from his father. Also, don't Forget that the spirit of man came from God too. |

Is the Word of God also the Son of God? Please as least copy and paste the contents of the verses you want me to discuss. Neither John 8.42 nor John 16.27- 28 called Jesus Christ the spirit of God. If by "anything meaningful" you mean anything that will pander to whatever fool's paradise you guys love living in, then you may go somewhere else to get your fix. Lol. If you excuse one crime against the people of Nigeria, if you excuse the illegal overthrow of the people's mandate and you even reward the main actor by electing him as president twice, then you go ahead to condemn a different coup, it's either you are dishonest and sentimental or your 3 years old should be the bread winner in your home. Who is living in a fools paradise? You who sees no crime in the 1983 coup or in any other coup except just one or I who believe that all coup plotters are criminals and should be treated as such. Just so you know, you rewarded another coup plotter with a place on your 20 naira note. Your foolish thinking is the reason why Nigeria is backward unfortunately for Nigeria, people like you would always be in the majority. |

John 1:1-5 "In the Beginning was the Word.... All things were made by him"
Genesis 1:2 "The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep. And God said: Let there be light". 26: And God said, Let US create man in Our image."
Also, what does John 8:42 mean to you? The 2 are not related in anyway. The Spirit of God was not said to be Christ. Remember it's a sin to add or subtract from God's words. |
