When did this compromise take place? undecided
You just sent me a text that stated Matthew, Mark and Luke bore falsehood and you ask me when this compromise happened. I should be the one asking you.

Who is there to guarantee the credibility of this book of yours?undecided
That's my point. I would have respected your honesty if you never used the bible as a source. But you continue to quote from a book that has no credibility according to you makes you unserious

Kobojunkie:
1. What source is that? undecided
You don't know who wrote the bible again?

2. You really need to go back and read what God said to you about His Word cause you admit here you don't even trust Him. undecided
Telling me to read what God said makes no sense from a book that is compromised.

1. Your confusion isn't mine at all but solely yours.

2. I never said the author was credible, to begin with. You are the one racked by that ball of confusion, not me. undecided

3. Again, God never asked you to place your trust in the Book, to begin with, nor the words of men. Instead, He gave you a guarantee that which is attributed to His person is what is Truth. undecided
You implied that the bible was not credible.
Again you would not know if God asked you to place your trust in a book or not from reading that same book which is compromised

I never claimed all Scripture is false to begin with. So your claim is not mine at all. undecided
If you told me that God speaks directly to you, then I can believe you. But qouting from the bible a book you say is compromised makes you unserious.

Interesting claim! Why not tell me also that believing in God and in Jesus Christ also makes me unserious! grin
Yes it does. I mean you can't be taken serious. Your belief system is compromised.

You claimed that some of the scripture is false but because it all comes from the same source, the entire book cannot be admitted as evidence. It would be impossible to tell what is false and what is not.
It would be impossible to tell what is God's word and what was added.

My Story isn't meant to make sense to you since it is not my story you are to believe in. it is simply meant to be just that to you... my story! undecided
You don't seem to understand your claim, let me explain what you are saying with an example.
Imagine you are in a court over a book.
You are asked, is the author credible, and you say no.
From then on, every thing in the book cannot be admitted in court. Simple. You would be objected to if latter, you are quoting from any portion of the book. It's that simple.

No, I claim that if the scriptures are false, then the God in the scriptures is false and if he contacted you, it's double Jeopardy

A false God would command me to do exactly that which the True God in fact commands of all those who belong to Him? Interesting! undecided
You can't talk about a true God. Where did you find a true God, on a false book?

How can it be compromised when it was never not-compromised, to begin with? It was written, from its beginning by human hands, in human language to be processed using human language comprehension skills. The book has always been unholy from its beginning. undecided

God did not send a book written in Heavenly language by holy hands to you which was then compromised. He never did that. undecided
You are making my point. If humans are not to be trusted then let's believe that they made up the events in the bible. They created the God in the bible.

I asked God to lead me to God if He is. And then I found myself reading religious text after text, and eventually I came to the Bible again, a book that made absolutely no sense to me the many times I had read it before then. But this time, it was as though my eyes were opened anew and I found myself picking commandments to obey in order to garner favor with God. And He showed up and since then He has been instrumental in helping me understand what is written and what I should validate it all against. undecided

If you don't understand it all, it's ok. You are not there yet is all it means. undecided
Probably, it's a false God that showed up to you. Remember the bible is a false book so don't expect a true God to show up to you from obeying the commandments in the bible

1. It wasn't from the written word that I developed the trust I have in Jesus Christ. Instead, it was through the obedience of God who then led through to understanding what was written and how to parse it that I was able to gain an understanding of who Jesus Christ truly is and what His Word indeed means. undecided

2. I now trust Jesus Christ does not mean I always trusted Him from the beginning. undecided

3. That is not always the case at all. lipsrsealed
1. You just got more confused. How can you obey a God you don't know what he says. How would you know what to obey if not from his words. The words come before obedience. So you first needed to trust that it was the word of God written in the bible.

2. If you did not trust Jesus Christ before like you claim, you only started to trust him after hearing the word and not before hearing it. So if his words came from an untrue source then it is quite foolish to believe anything written in the book.

You are taking time to digest the meaning of what is written to you in that passage though. undecided
Have you seen God before? How do you know about God? Isn't it true the bible?
So if you cannot trust the bible, it mean I should not take you serious when you quote from the bible.
The same Matthew that wrote falsehood could have easily made up some words and claimed it's the sayings of Jesus Christ.

Nothing like that at all because what we are called to put our trust in is God and not the plate of rice itself. undecided
It's the bible that introduced God to you so if the bible is wrong and you don't have any other source of truth then you might be trusting in a wrong God

Recall what I said of your letter analogy? I trust Jesus Christ enough to know that that which is written to have been spoken by Him is Truth. undecided
This statement makes on sense. Let me tell you why.
1. You trust Jesus Christ because of what was written. So it was from the written word that you develop the trust.
2. No matter how much you trust Jesus Christ. As long as those words were not written by him, saying you trust Matthew on his behalf makes no sense.
3. If a member is sick the whole body becomes infected.

Kind of! I believe in the Word of God, that written as Jesus Christ's account of what took place, and not Matthew's own opinion of what took place. undecided

That's because you don't understand who God is and what His Word means... it is everlasting meaning it cannot be changed or altered by any man. What Jesus Christ reiterated in Matthew 5 vs 15 -17 is to let you know that men cannot alter the Word of God as decreed by Him. undecided
You qouted Matthew 5 how do you know it's not what Matthew or any other person wrote for you to believe

1. I know since I believe only in Jesus Christ, the Word of God, and He is not written to have said that. undecided

2. The Letter may be compromised however the one who wrote me the letter, to begin with, ensured me that the Words out of His own mouth can never be compromised. This means, that no matter what the one who delivered it may have included, he has no power or will to change that which was originally written by the one whom I trust. undecided
Then stop quoting what Matthew said about Jesus and quote directly from the mouth of Jesus.
Even that verse you quote where Jesus assures you of his word could be fake. So you really have no believe system

Pay attention! The Book itself is not guaranteed to give you accurate information. Instead, it is the Word of God documented in the book that you are informed by God as being of accurate origins. undecided
There is no foundation for your belief. You believe what Matthew cliams Jesus said but not what Matthew recorded. Does this in anyway sound logical to you?

I quote the Words of Jesus Christ contained in Matthew... those aren't the words of Matthew but of Jesus Christ written down in the Gospel of Matthew. undecided
From what you are saying, you don't even know if it's really the Words of Christ in Matthew
And like I said, you have been hypocritical because most of the Scriptures you qouted on this thread were not the direct word of God.

How would you know, you don't believe in the bible so even if they ry did how would you know.
Do you even understand what you are saying.
It's like I write a letter to you and send it through someone you don't trust. That letter is now compromise. You can never know if my words were not changed

It's not the Book I trust, but the one whose words are also recorded in the Book that I do. That book records even the words of Satans and demons, as well as men. So what is Truth? You are told that only the Word of God is Truth. undecided
Are you listening to yourself. If the book can't give accurate record about Jesus Christ yet you claim you trust Christ's words in the bible. Are you even making sense

The Bible is not the Word of God. Jesus Christ is instead the very Word out of God's own Mouth of which you are told in Matthew 5 vs 15 -17 will not pass away even after Heaven and Earth do. undecided
You are still quoting Matthew. And what you are saying makes no sense. Everything Jesus said is in the bible.

Recall that in order to unravel this as I did, I went back to what God decreed in His Covenant regarding Passover, and what Jesus Christ Himself said of the Passover Feast and His own arrest - the Word of God. undecided

Every single argument we had was based out of the bible.
