cornelboy:
Abraham was looking forward to Jesus's coming just like Isaiah and the nation of Israel were looking forward to his coming.

At 1 Corinthians 10:1-4, Paul was comparing the rock Moses and the people drank from to Christ who's the source of living water.
The people were baptized unto Moses at the rest sea just like Paul and the others were baptized unto Christ.
Christ ain't literally that rock.
The men of old looked forward to the coming of Christ to save the world. That is called faith in Jesus Christ. John 3.16, whosoever believed in him shall have everlasting life. Did they not believe in him?
The big question for you is what more would you want them to do or say to show that they believed Jesus Christ and knew he was the son of God? Because they ticked all the boxes.
4. And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Christ was the Spiritual Rock of Isreal, they drank out from him. There expirience with Christ was much deeper than yours.

Comot jàre. We were talking about David and Isaiah. They didn't know Christ. They only heard of him through prophecy.
You obviously don't know the meaning of prophecy. Prophecy is the revealed word of God. So yes, Christ was revealed to them.

Nobody knew Christ before he came to the world.
He was \david's Lord before then.
We were able to know Christ today because he has come and his accounts were written in the four gospel books. David and Isaiah didn't know Christ like I do today I can't tell if they knew that he turned water into wine but they clearly knew he is the Savior of the world and the Son of the living God. That's where lies salvation. They may not have known all his parables but salvation is not found in the parables but in believing he is the son of God.

Your statement I quoted is not rocket science. grin

Isaiah said:
"He will be called.... "mighty God" .
Isaiah references a future time.
Isaiah did not say he (Jesus) Most High God, Yahweh.

"He will be called... Everlasting Father ".
Isaiah references a future time.
Isaiah did not say he (Jesus) is his Father , Yahweh the Creator, Isaiah 44:24 &1 Cor 8:6.

Please note the difference.
Matthew 12:15-20, Jesus Christ references Isaiah's prophecy to REMOVE every Trinitarian attempt to make him Almighty God."

Sir this thread is not about the trinity. We can discuss trinity another time but you could have tried to understand what we are talking about before contributing

"Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." - John 8:56-58

"Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." - 1 Corinthians 10:1-4

Your opinion sir.
John 20:31
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Oga, not my opinion. Some of us read the bible. The only purpose of the new testament was to make us believe in him.

Obviously David and Isaiah didn't know Jesus more than I do. I have access to the accounts written about him. They don't.
In fact, all they know is just the little prophecy God gave them about him.
How little is it? They know he is their Savoir and Lord. Please tell us what they need to know.

Yes... hunting accidents happen everywhere... but was the man hunting? Why bring up hunting to try to put down Blacks as making every issue with Whites a racial issue? Why are you so quick to downplay racism... and accusing Blacks to be alarmists? You really think we can move forward if we cover our eyes like you? Open your eyes and learn to recognize racism .... if you can't recognize blatant racism how will you ever recognize subtle racism that is wayyy more widespread??
You ask some good questions. I did not downplay racism but if we choose to live in suspicion of every other race, how can find peace living with others. When a white kid bullies my child it's racism. When the Yoruba guy at my workplace has issues with me, its tribalism. I feel it's a lazy and weak mentality.
A white man shooting a black is not the definition of racism so unless it's proven to be, why should I suspect such. If you've ever lived in the Us, as a black man, you would feel much safer in white communities in Idaho and Montanna than in cities like Brooklyn and Atlanta with so many of you're black brothers.
Perceiving racism in every action is unhealthy for you and society. In our fear of racism, we blacks are beginning to be very racist.

I don't disagree with you on this. For the woman in this story, I am willing to bet that this is the case
The thing is this, divorce has become so desirable that we simplify marriage and the vows mean nothing anymore. I remain old school. I respect the vows and I don't see this as an honest excuse to divorce.

These are nothing but your personal delusion that you spew pretending they are of God. God washed His hands off men, childbearing, marriage etc., from Genesis 3 vs 16 -22, so how can these ideas you spew be of God when God clearly disconnected them all from Himself? undecided
Actually, God created every sex organ in the body, He created the pleasure that comes from sex and he said to increase and mutiply. You Penis was not given to you for pissing only.
Christianity Etc › Re: When You Have Sex With Someone Not Your Married Spouse by tctrills: 1:54pm On May 08, 2022
lighteverywhere:
God is the Creator of everything, seen and unseen, tangible and intangible. He manufactured sex too, in His infinite wisdom. As the Manufacturer, He is definitely in the best position to give the guidelines as touching how best sex should be approached.

And what God has given is that: All forms of sexual pleasure must be shared only between a man and his married wife (a female) inside the safe circle of their marriage institution with no other party involved.

Now, when you have sex with someone not your married spouse as a single person, you have engaged fornication.

When you as a married person have sex with someone else other than your married spouse, you have committed adultery.

These things are not just sinful, but they have terrible repercussions attached to them.

Sex is spiritual, and every sexual act has great implication in the spiritual realm. When you indulge in sexual sins, you give the evil devil the chance to plunder your life, and he will load your life with negative stuff like addictions, pain, distress, poverty, sickness, and all manner of headaches and heartaches.

I know it takes great efforts to live a life of true chastity and purity in today’s corrupt world. But it is actually possible. All you have to do is to partner with the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ, and He will help you.

So, align yourself with the LORD today.

If you have indulged in fornication or adultery, you can still make things right with God today. All you have to do is to approach God and ask Him for mercy in Jesus Name. Allow Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior, and He will show you mercy.

Stop adding to the Word of God. God never said Sex was Spiritual, It's a physical act, performed by physical bodies. It's ok to say it's a sin but don't say what you don't know. The Penis and the vigina, are physical organs

Hunting accidents happen every year but because a white man is involved, it suddenly becomes racism.
Interpreting every even through the lens of racsm would prevent blacks form moving forward.

The prophecy was revealed to Isaiah and David. It didn't happen in their time.

Isaiah knew someone is coming according to the prophecy but he obviously didn't know Jesus.
Jesus became known by people when he became human. The Jews didn't even believe.

I think we've had this conversation before. I don't wanna do it again.
You keep saying the prophets of old did not know him and I wonder where you get that from. They wrote about him, what more should they have done to convince you that they know him even more than you do?

You think a Nigerian woman who is choosing building a home over a car would divorce her man solely because of this. Her husband must be a financially irresponsible .
That's your opinion that's not what the story says. Again buying a car over a house is not always financially irresponsibility. There are times when It could be more prudent to buy a car and rent an apartment.
I could give you examples where buying a car is better financially

The prophecy was revealed to Isaiah and David. It didn't happen in their time. The prophecy in revelations did not happen at their time. When God told Noah to build an ark the rains had not come at the time.

Isaiah knew someone is coming according to the prophecy but he obviously didn't know Jesus. You are wrong. He gave us the many names of Jesus so why do you think he did not know
Jesus became known by people when he became human. The Jews didn't even believe. The Jews did not believe because they were sinful. But those that believed he gave the power to be sons of God. Among the Jews, a few believed.

I think we've had this conversation before. I don't wanna do it again. Sir you chose to come on this thread na.
The Prophets of old called Jesus their Lord as we all do today. What else do you want them to do to show they knew him. Do you even know the meaning of prophecy?
