Matthew 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Is God promising the righteous, land, children, and family in heaven? |

Family › Re: Nigerian Ladies Stop Marrying Men That Are Not Already Rich by tctrills: 12:27pm On Dec 04, 2021 |
pmoye: This is advice is really for Nigerian ladies. Please and please do not marry a man that is not rich. Your very life will depend on it. You heard me... How long you live as a woman may well depend on how rich your husband is. This may seem like an over-generalization, but a very needful one. Quite a troubling percentage of Nigerian men can not handle a woman who is more financially buoyant.
Ideally it shouldn't matter how much each person earns, because I believe that the husband and the wife should be one financially. That the home should be planned like a company with budgets, financial planning, sound auditing and all... But from the much we have seen around the average Nigerian family is far from this ideal. We often have what increasingly looks like a union that appears more to serve a cultural/societal expectation, a union that is sustained just so that the society can think you are happily married, while between the man and the wife it is more like between US and China, between Northern and Southern Nigeria, a perpetual cold war and bitter jostling for resource allocation and control.
I have seen women who have died because the husbands couldn't afford antenatal care and used ego-motivated argument to keep the women from accessing timely medical care... And of course, few years or even months after that those wicked men would later bring in other wives into the house.
The poorer the man, the more wicked, the more angry, and the more deadly he generally is in Nigeria. Do not let any man or any woman convince you to marry for love. There is no such thing as that, just a queer surge of hormones that makes you think you are in love. If you marry a poor man for love, hunger and suffering will soon reset your thinking, and by then most women feel too culturally compelled to remain with the toxin of a husband they have. Take a cue from evolutionary development in animal kingdom generally where females select the most suitable male for mating.
Do not simply believe in a man's future plans and dreams. If he doesn't have money now, he is not ready to be a husband. No matter how much you think you love him, treat him like the case of AS genotype (yours) marrying an SS genotype (his). And this is something I respect some Igbo men for. They will never think of marrying a woman unless they are economically ready.
If he is earning N30,000, or N40,000 or N90,000 per month he is not ready to marry. These are just examples from posts I have seen around here. Do not be fooled, the amount on the payslip is not always available for taking care of the home. But that's the talk for another day.
Some of us are probably never going to get married, I personally find it very scary to read about how men because of poverty increasingly turn against their wives in marriage... I may be too traditional though, because I do not fvcking care the money the wife is bringing into the house. Her role as a mother and a wife is already supremely more than you need to compensate for as a man. If you are a man, do not get close to a man when you are still poor. It is wickedness. It is dishonesty. It is crime against humanity. Do not sell her a future hope of becoming a pastor and other popular silliness.
Marrying a lady when you cannot completely and single-handedly take care of her is gender violence. Stop it. Not up to 5% of Nigerian men are rich. I really wish women take your advice. It would be fun to watch 95% survive without a man |

Kobojunkie: 1a. You are right that every Word written in the Gospels were written by humans in human language. However, the servants also pointed out the messages of the Master as though Words out of the mouth of God Himself ' Matthew 4 vs 4
1b. Again, Jesus Christ never gave us a command of the kind you suggest in John 17. What He instead did was ask God to bless even those who will believe in Him because of the words spoken by His apostles.
Jesus Christ never sanctioned there words, not in that context or any other. In John 14 vs 1 - 5, He made it known that it is in Him alone that we are to put ouy trust.
2. The Gospel is God's New Covenant Law in the Kingdom of God and it consists of about 100 commandments which we are meant to live by - Matthew 4 vs 4. It is a Law. So any doctrine or tradition of men that seeks to add, change or remove from God's Law as given by Him, violates the gospel. The word Apostle means “one sent forth.” It was the title Jesus gave (Luke 6:13) to the Twelve whom He chose and ordained (John 15:16) to be His closest disciples during His ministry on earth and whom He sent forth to represent Him after His Ascension into heaven Did Jesus Christ give special authority to his Apostles? Yes. I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven, Matt. 16:19 He gave them the keys of his kingdom. He promised them more responsibility.. ye also shall sit … judging the twelve tribes, Matt. 19:28 |

Kobojunkie: I am not in anyway confusing issues...just making things clear is all..
1. You claim every Christian believes in Jesus Christ and not in His apostles, yet if you asked 10 Christians of what Jesus Christ taught us on a given topic, chances are all 10 will tell you of what one of His disciples supposedly wrote in their epistles instead of what Jesus Christ in fact quoted as actually saying on the very issue. Most Christians know what Paul supposedly said on matters but have near no clue what Jesus Christ in fact said, if at all, on the very same.
And as Jesus Christ said over and over, those who are of Him, are those who obey His teachings and commandments- not the doctrines and traditions of men, including men such as His apostles. Those who trust in Jesus Christ are those who do as Jesus Christ says.
2. No where in scripture are you even told to believe the apostles to begin with.
Every follower of Jesus Christ is sent out as if a Servant to deliver the Master's message to everyone who will hear. The message you believe is that which the Master gave to the servant and only that. The servant his identity, etc., means nothing since it is His Master that should be of value to you or not. First every word in the bible was written by his disciples. Also, Christ told us to believe his disciples in John 17.20. So if Christ said in His prayer in John that his Apostles are one with him and anyone that believes in their words becomes one with them, him and the father, why shouldn't Christians quote them. Christ has sanctioned their words. Hope you know there is a difference between believing someone and believing in someone. Kobojunkie: 1. Neither was Jesus Christ a Teacher of the Jewish Law yet His disciples caller Him Rabbi.
2. Jesus Christ said those who love Him are those who obey His commandments - His friends are those who do as He asks - and He did command His followers, the 12, then the 72, to go out and teach teach Gospel to the unbelievers, did He not - John 14 vs 15 - 25 & John 15 vs 14 ? He did not command his followers to teach the gospel, he chose from among his followers. In fact, it was just his 12 disciples he was speaking to in John 14 and 15
3. God/Jesus Christ is the one and only Shepherd over His flock - Ezekiel 34 vs 1 - 16 and John 10 vs 1 - 16. We are all all us sheep , and workers/servants in His flock , and our job is to obey the Master's commandments and do the work He has given us to do.
We are tasked with the work of providing food, drink, clothing, home, care, and visitation for those in need of it. No one will enter into Heaven without doing these things - Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46 . That is how important of a Job this is that we have been given. 2. Kobojunkie: 1. Where the words I believed in the words of His apostles, or His Words?
2. When Jesus Christ spoke of His flock in John 10, He indeed meant the feeding and caring of His flock. Read what God also said of His flock in Ezekiel 34 vs 1 - 16.
The Church that belongs to Jesus Christ is comprised of His followers who He manages and monitors Himself, living according the Will of God(submit to Obey the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ) , and doing works of Righteousness as lead by the Spirit of God. Yes, they all feed and care for the others, just as Jesus Christ instructed.
3a. Peter was not the only one given instructions to feed and care for the others by Jesus Christ since this same teaching was taught by Jesus Christ on more than one occasion to His followers.
3b. As I said before, Jesus Christ started with 12 who He then sent out to preach the Gospel to the unbelievers in the land, this as they became ready to go out . Eventually, Jesus Christ sent out 72 that were ready enough to go preach the Gospel to the unbelievers. The same commandment applies to all those who are ready to go out, and this from Him.
As you can see, unlike what is practiced in your churches today, you don't just go out to preach to unbelievers because you believe. The Teacher, Jesus Christ is instead meant to send us out to doing this when He deems us ready to go out.
As for God and Jesus Christ being the only Teacher to those in His New Covenant, it is made very clear in the New Covenant - Matthew 23 vs 8 - 10, the boldest declaration of all. Thank you for defining rabbi. His apostles were not teachers of the jewish law. 2. Do you have any scripture of Jesus Christ sending all his followers to teach? The bible records all those he send so where did you read that all those who believe in him were sent out. The Bible clearly told us those who he sent out to preach and baptize. Let's not add to the bible. 3. You claim God was telling his servants in ezekiel 34 to physically feed the believers and same with Peter. If so you mean the purpose of calling apostles was to provide food for the followers right? |

1. Just as Jesus Christ said in His prayer, I came to believe in Jesus Christ because of Words of Him I heard from His apostles. I didn't believe in His apostles but in Him, Jesus Christ.
2. I was an unbeliever and His followers were sent to teach unbelievers of God's Truth, the New Covenant Law of the Kingdom of God. What you call the Gospel is God's Law embodied in the person of Jesus Christ, God's Truth.
It wasn't until I chose to believe in Jesus Christ aka became a part of His Kingdom that He became my only Teacher.
I have repeated this same information at least 5 times at this point. I think you are confusing issues. Every Christian believes in Christ not his Apostles. And your ideas are not based in scripture. I understand that you are entitled to your opinion. No where in the scriptures were you told to believe the apostles until you become a Christian then you stop believing. To me, it's a strange and funny teaching. |

Let me put it another way. My belief was not in the apostles themselves but the teachings and commandments they said were of Jesus Christ which I then verified through trust and obedience in Jesus Christ. You talk from both sides of your mouth. you were of those who came to Jesus because of the words of his followers yet you stopped believing their words once you became a Christian. You also claim that Jesus is the only teacher, how come you needed the words of his followers. He obviously was not your only teacher. |

Kobojunkie: 1. When I was an unbeliever, I listed to and eventually what was told me of Jesus Christ. Then when I became a believer, Jesus Christ Himself became my Teacher, revealing all Truth to me just as He said He would.
2. Jesus Christ didn't need to use the word "unbelievers" before one would know that those who formally didn't believe but would come to believe are indeed the unbelievers, those who are in the world and not of Him - John 17 vs 20 - 22
3. When you are Baptized, no longer are you an unbeliever as you enter into the Kingdom of God where the rule, as written in Matthew 23 vs 8 - 10, that Jesus Christ is the one and only Teacher over all those who belong to Him aka are saved.
4. Jesus Christ fed His disciples breakfast of bread and fish right before that conversation with Peter on that morn - John 21 vs 1 - 14. He had taught several times of the work of the servant being to make sure the other servants are given their food on time - Luke 12 vs 41 - 48 & Matthew 24 vs 45 - 51
Peter was a follower and a sheep as well, and he along with every other follower was and is tasked with doing the same works of righteousness- the 6 keys of Heaven - as outlined in Matthew 25 vs 31 - 40. .
As for type of food to give, Jesus Christ fed His followers with bread and bread but He didn't say it only had to be bread and fish. As God made clear in Isaiah 58 vs 6 - 13 , we are to share our food with those who are hungry. So anything you know is good and acceptable to eat. 1. Your point is clear.. you only believed the words of Christ's apostles when you were not a Christian. You stop believing when you become a Christian. 2. You believe the work Jesus gave Peter was to provide physical food for his followers. If that is so, it means the only purpose of the church was to have breakfast according to you. So today is the church of Christ still centered around someone providing food for the believers? I guess when Jesus spoke about finding pasture for his seep in John 10, he wasn't talking about rice and beans. 3a. You claim it was peter alongside other followers that were tasked with the same work. Wrong, I was only Peter directed to feed the sheep. 3b. It was only very few men that were empowered by Christ to preach. first the 12 and then the 70 Luke 10 10 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. So clearly you need to be appointed first. Just because you follow Christ doesn't mean you are appointed. Finally, no single verse in the bible teaches that Jesus is the only teacher. The bible says he is the only master but you changed it to mean the only teacher. 8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. |

LordReed: In a way I disagree. It is not fixed that a parent who suffered abuse as a child will continue to perpetuate it as an adult rather what I find is people who do not conscientiously decide to move away from the abuse continue to perpetuate it. A number of people have looked at their experiences as a child under abusive parents and decided they would make it different for their own children while others have thought that is just the way life should be. I happen to fall into the former camp, I don't beat my children but I am sternly firm when instructing them on what is right and wrong and so far so good, I don't need to beat them for them to obey my instructions. Not everyone that grew up in a violent home would end up becoming a violent person true. But it's far better to eradicate all forms of violence even if only a small percent of such kids become violent. Not everyone that drinks becomes an alcoholic but if you never drink, you would never become an alcoholic. My point is, give your kids the best opportunity to grow violent free |

I don't condone men beating their wives. But I find it puzzling when people support parents beating their kids. Both are acts of violence. Children are weaker. They have no way of defending themselves. They can't divorce their parents. Now if you wonder why some men beat their women, it because they suffered violence as kids. Violence begat violence. When you beat a child, he grows to believe that you can beat anyone weaker than you be it a child or a wife. There are a thousand better ways of correcting our kids. Let eradicate violence from our homes. |

Now someone came telling you that Jesus never existed and you're now dragging issues over my response to such a person. "Useless blacks" differs from "Blacks are useless" For your information when someone is sentenced to death it simply means he/she is no more useful in that society. That doesn't mean the entire society where he is brought up is useless. So stop deceiving yourself. Any Jew that failed to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah despite everything the scriptures say about the promised Christ is useless from the reason of faith! On this thread we are talking about how to identify a group that follows Christ. Members of such group would guard their words. James 1:26; "If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless." Proverbs 12:18 - "There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." Ephesians 4:29; "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." Matthew 15:18; "But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person." |

MaxInDHouse: Continue deceiving yourself!
Just watch your language. So you would go to Israel and announce that all Jews that don't acknowledge Jesus are useless? We are still correcting you from one and you are commiting another. |

MaxInDHouse: You love to deceiving yourself!
There thousands of followers on this section so ordinarily giving a Christian an opportunity to establish facts about pure worship is enough to make a believer swing into action. Moreover there are many who were with us in the other thread, they all ran away as i boldly predicted before now.
So if anyone is not interested in what has to do with pure worship well listen to what God's word says:
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. Malachi 3:16
Of course everyone has what interests them be it Sports, Music, Entertainment, Politics and many more while some are always worried about the state of pure worship. Therefore let it be known to you that what we are doing here right now will determine whether our names will be found or missing in the book of life! Revelations 20:15
May you have PEACE! "Well i know those useless Jews have infected you with their terrorist mindset so you're gradually getting closer to your grave. Just slap someone for saying what his/her religion teaches and you'll never live to tell the story! " Your language is in contrast to everything you preach on nairaland. If this kind of language is OK by your religions believes, it's not OK by mine. I do not know if there are others from your organization on this thread. If there are , I would love to ask if this language is OK by JW stsndards. |

AntiChristian: Jesus built no physical church in the bible! And even if the Christian Jesus were to come today, he would be confused as to which church is his own! Maybe that's why Jesus said: "Not every one who says to me, 'Master, Master,' will enter the Kingdom of the Heavens, but only those who are obedient to my Father who is in Heaven. Mat 7:21 That's the point.. how would we identify a group that abides by Jesus teaches today. |
