MaxInDHouse: So who told you Jews aren't aware of such medication before Greeks? Actually the Jews were among the backwards tribes of the Mediterranean. Unlike Egypt, Athens and Rome. The Jews ancient were a little people with no known contribution to science. They were mostly a weak and defeated nation. You really need to read up history. And it's very possible that 5he Jews knew so much about wine. That proves my point, Paul was given common medical advice to his brother not some inspired word. Today, man has developed much better treatment for indigestion than wine. In modern medicine, we no longer depend on wine do you know why? Because we can isolate the essential component's in wine and produce it synthetically and make it more potent. That is the power of modern medicine. AND THAT IS WHY I DON'T DEPEND ON THE BIBLE FOR MEDICAL ADVICE. |

Great learning is driving you out of your mind!” But Paul said: “I am not going out of my mind, Your Excellency Festus, but I am speaking words of truth and of a sound mind. For a fact, the king to whom I am speaking so freely well knows about these things; I am convinced that not one of these things escapes his notice, for none of this has been done in a corner. Do you, King A·gripʹpa, believe the Prophets? I know that you believe.” But A·gripʹpa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.” Act 2 6:24-28

The Bible is not a science textbook but anytime it touches on science everything it says is 100% accurate. You can prove me wrong by quoting a scripture that touches on science but is not accurate.
I'll be waiting for your response on this! I have never argued on that. It's an interesting point you bring up and I would do some research. |

Manufacturers of drugs use many ingredients (including hard substances like ALCOHOL) so when Paul told Timothy to use alcohol, God's Holy Spirit was revealing to us what will become of such hard substance in the future. Where were you and your faithless researchers when the greatest Scientist (GOD) created flying creatures thousands of years ago with rubber filled legs that will protect them from electric wires? My friend go and relax, God's word has always been ahead of your faithless researchers claiming scientists! I really don't know your point. Paul's advice to Timothy was inspired! Timothy must be one of those who don't take alcoholic drinks, Paul is here telling him to take it for his stomach illness. Perhaps you've forgotten so i'll repeat myself. If a doctor doesn't believe in God i won't even patronize him talkless taking medical advice from him. EkehPraise: Like every well brought up young man, I'm in my early 30's and really doing fine at least I'm not begging for anything from anyone.
I set out this year to wife my girlfriend whom I had dated for 2 years but her character made me think twice so we broke up and I moved on. I have tried to make friends with matured ladies in the church I worship but it's been from one bad experience to another.
Ever since I started looking for a woman to call my wife I have been meeting different characteristics of women. Within the space of 1 year I've met one who is a maniac, one I met at a hangout didn't hesitate to show her lazy attitude the day she came to my place to see I'm a bit comfortable, another one I met recently in church turned out to be a thief.
2021 is almost over and I'm yet to find a wife. Where do you advice I go in search for a good woman? You might also be the problem. Work on yourself and he honest with yourself.

iamwhat: I am seriously confused and scared at the same time.
My cousin sister has been staying with us since age 5 and nobody knows she's not our sibling because we took her as one of us, she finished from the most expensive secondary school in our town and we gave her everything she needs.
She told my younger sister that her friends boyfriend is a yahoo guy and I noticed she has been misbehaving lately.
I received the shock of my life when my younger sister discovered her POS business money was not complete and she told me she suspected Toyin because of the clothes, Shoes and bags she buys nowadays. Lo and behold, she conducted search in her bag and she found 200k in her bag. She told the Money from there and after some days, My cousin started looking for the money but she didn't tell anyone but asked our maid if she found the money.
We confronted her yesterday and she confessed she took the money. My brother is suggesting we take her to guard room but I think that's inhumane but I'm so confused at what to do right now... I don't want us to maltreat her, I'm looking for the best way to treat this issue without causing any physical harm to her.
Since she has been with us since age 5, I feel sending her to her family won't make sense because she didn't grow up with them, I am suggesting a professional counsellor/therapist but my siblings are saying I'm behaving like Oyibo, they aren't buying the idea at all.
Please I need your advise on how best to handle this issue: I already like you. You have a lot of common sense and you obviously love your cousin. It's never comfortable to have a thief at home. And it's not easy to deal with family. I don't think she needs a professional unless she is a kleptomaniac. She has started keeping up with the wrong company. It is a real challenge you got on your hands. Don't expect any sudden change. You need to know everything about her. Who are her friends? What do they have in common? Do all you can to change her company. and keep counseling her as much as you can. |

MaxInDHouse: The word BELIEVE connotes TRUST so believers in God's word fully trust what God says above anything else. If you want to trust in God's word then it's only on aspects not mentioned in His word that you're free to choose not when God say something and you decide to take what others say asserting they know better than God. Any topic you prefer is your own cup of coffee but when BELIEVERS are talking about God's word upon which our faith is built please keep quiet because you're not ready to comply fully with what is written in God's word! Trusting God's words is one thing but adding to God's words is another. You do not add to God's words. If you trust God's words as you claim then why add salt and pepper and why depend on your brains. Also, not everything in the bible is God's words. For example, Paul told Timoty to take a little wine for the belly. That was Paul's medical advice. Modern medicine has better medications for indigestion than wine. So when a doctor gives you drugs for the belly, you don't reject it and drink wine instead. |

If you feel my interpretation is wrong that's exactly how i feel about yours, so keep yours for those who will join you in worshiping your God while i'll keep mine for those who will worship my own God. MaxInDHouse: What you understand is non of my business, our God talked about blood and warned us to abstain from it so continue with your science you'll still get there. Thousands of years ago faithless researchers claiming scientists said "the earth is flat" WHY? Because they can't decipher how people can live on anything that's not flat. At that same time our God inspired His prophet to pen it down that the earth is a circle! Isaiah 40:22 They also claim that the earth was resting on some huge animals when God inspired Moses to pen it down that the earth is hanging upon nothing! Job 26:7
So relax my friend, when that time comes your so called scientists will apologize once again telling everyone that they are wrong about blood transfusion while God's word is right as usual! If you choose to depend on the bible for your science, it's up to you. Your so-called faithless researchers have actually impacted much more to the world than the science of Isaiah and Job. So if abstinence from blood is what the Bible says then i believe it shouldn't be taking into the body either by eating or transfusion! so you choose to add to the bible because blood transfusion was not practiced then. So like I said earlier you created your own personal interpretation. Abstinence from blood can be interpreted to mean abstinence from blood transfusion. Another could interpret to mean, abstinence from shedding blood or from seeing blood or touching blood or a million other interpretations. This is what happens when churches give their own interpretation of God's word. God clearly told us not to eat blood. It is stated clearly but you choose to add your opinion. If God is against blood transfusion, he would reveal it. |
