Our country sha. These guys should have first sent NAF engineers on a training course in Brazil for about 2 years before making the purchase. But eez alright, all Na chopping national cake things
Our pilots have what it takes to fly a super Tucano. NAF Pilots are already trained for such aircrafts and moreover we have pilots capable of flying 4th generation aircrafts

Nice addition to our Air power, but we should also purchase two to three Brazilian professionals(pre-owned or not) to help man the aircraft since our own pilots are clueless.

the gambians practicaly see the naf as theirs...

try to speak with some west africans and you will notice it....
I have spoken with almost all West Africans and they don't see it that way.

Diplomatically, the feeling maybe "na we we"
but we citizens don't see it that way as we tend to have this nationalism running through our veins.

What are you saying? Moreover it's not his fault.

Their Armed force website where he got the picture from made the ship look like it was Ghanian. Could have at least added "NNS"

Henry24o:
It's much easier and much more expensive. What happens when the air support doesn't come? Is this method sustainable? what happens in a battlefield were we don't have air superiority or in a contested air space were the hostiles possess Manpads, like we've seen in Syria.

In my opinion, this method we seem to use to prosecute our own insurgency, although effective, has a higher probability of unsustainability.

Ground troops first have to be proficient in the art of soldiering. Air support although vital, should be a secondary option, except in a situation were friendly positions are attacked by overwhelming enemy combatants.
What about Kenya F-5? Can't b they be configured to drop free bombs like our A-jets? About man pads, they should invest in ECM.

they fought like true African warriors. Although Air support came in late.
Yes. RIP to the dead. After sighting hundreds of militants, the CO should have requested for an airstrike immediately.
At least Air back up should be airborne or put on ready to launch.

thats what you think....

i can find the first plans of the alfa jet on the internet...

the f35 is much more complicated...

a alfa jet has the same design like a high end car...

even innoson can replicate the alfa jet if you give them enough funds...
No reason to argue with you.
Peace.

Alpha Jet has no air-to-air credentials whatsoever.
Wrong. A-JETS can be armed AIM9 AAM. Ours may not possess A2A tho. I am sure the latest A-jets we got were stripped off such capabilities so I will only suggest NAF go for more UCAV . Moreover, we do not need A-JET for A2A except they are going against helicopters.
