Do your assignments well. Air tractor won't get to Nigeria. The super Tucano is the best we can get knowing fully Nigeria also signed a MOU on UAV production with a Brazilian company then the reason for going for the Tucano is obvious.
africaken254: so you were attacking approching boko haram but ended up wiping out more than 200 refugees inside a refugee.only a visually impaired person can't I.D more than a thousand people, you effectively use dumb bombs on displaced civilians
I used to think you were wise. 1 An aircraft was sent to take out BHT and not conduct ISR. 2 It was a fighter jet and can't ID ground targets effectively on her own due to onboard avionics.
africaken254: [s]so you want to tell me the countless of manned ISR platforms you claim you have were not available, when you bombed internally displaced people living in tents in the open(how can someone bomb a refugee camp with more than 1,000 people, killing more than 200 !?) i dont think boko haram shot that CH-3 down, that UCAV just loves gravity[/s]
Your argument has always been off point. The jets were deployed immediately they got an intel Of BHT approaching an IDP camp. Tell me during Al shabab attack on your military, you had to wait for manned ISR (that's if you even have one) before engaging the terrorist.
Arguing with you is totally useless. You can't even compare your Air Force to ours. We've effectively used dumb bombs.
On the CH3, we will discuss about it when your Air Force starts operating a UCAV.
Their innovation is the famous Combat Fighting Motorcycle (CFM), popularly known as the Jackal. In the Northwest, cattle rustling bas become a big security threat, with the perpetrators killing and maiming at will. These perpetrators of the crimes often use the motorcycles to get away on rough terrains. So, the engineers at the 35 Battalion remodeled some motorcycles, weaponised them and deployed them in the anti-terror battle. The CFM was redesigned in such a way that two soldiers could ride on it facing opposite directions with a gun attached. “The idea is that with these, we can move as fast into any terrain in pursuit of the criminals and terrorists. There are different types – one is fitted with machine gun at the back and others have Ak-47,” Warrant Officer (WO) identified as Salley, explained. “With these ones, we can follow the cattle rustlers to their villages. Is that that not innovation?”, the minister shouted in excitement. The COAS said the military has a plan to give at least a battalion of the machines for each Division. Dan-Ali, who was impressed, told the engineers: “We need to do another; the one with three tires; that one will have more stability.” The men agreed to take up the new challenge. The CFM, which has been deployed in Kastina and Kano states, has assumed a frightening reputation from criminals. “We have been very successful with it in Folgore forest in Kano. This is the latest machine all over the world, even the developed countries are praising us over this invention,” Salley boasted. The Infantry Patrol Vehicle (IPV) with off-road mobility and a crew of three was one of the star attractions at the summit. Weighing 650kg and powered by 150-200 Horse Power Engine, the IPV has a 130 kilometre per hour capacity. It provides force multiplier and the required flexibility to undertake all tasks across the entire spectrum of military operations, including range fighting, fast action mission, urban and border patrols. The IPV is fitted with two machine guns and have been deployed in all the theatres of operation. The Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers have also been ingenious in the modification of Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) for combat operations. One of such is the modification of 4 x4 Hilux Trucks with Peak Cap Turret. The Peak Cap is mounted on the Hilux and it has 18mm hardened steel and can be modified to carry any gun. It has a mechanical traverse of 360 degrees. The Peak Cap also offers protection up to 30 meters from small arms and 100 meters from machine guns. There is also the Buratai Overhead Manned Turret (BOMT) which is one of the ugliest weapons but which offers an “all round protection” according to the Army. Weighing one tone, it provides all round observation with the aid of periscopic sights and the plate thickness can give protection for up to 30 meters. The BOMT invention was necessitated by the delivery of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPVs) BOMT has been installed on the MRAPVs now being used in the Northeast. The Nigerian Army Institute of Technology (NAITE) in Markudi, has also invented the unmanned aerial vehicle with two transmitters which can survey human presence and an unmanned drone with transmission capacity up to 100 meters. Though the vehicle and drone have been tested, they are yet to be deployed to the theatre of operation. Brig.-Gen. Ayo Ibikunle of Nigerian Army Ordinance Corps was modest about his latest invention – the Hand Grenade ASI-17 Smoke (Smoke Grenade).
africaken254: CH-3 was a total failure,i have seen a boko haram propaganda video which showed smoldering wreckage of CH-3.Its just that nairaland doesnt allow one to post terrorist propaganda.except for that one footage of a precision strike on a boko haram technical, have you ever seen any other released footage !?the only thing your good at is dropping dumb bombs on civilians, even you say you have ISR manned platforms
Don't be a coward dodging the truth. ISR wasn't present when the bombs were dropped on the civilians. Moreover, yes we had one CH3 crashed and not brought down by BHT. Don't cover up with posting terrorist propaganda video or pictures as you've done that or written about that at times here. Your God father USAF has bombed civilians locations even with a guided bomb and 4th generation aircrafts mistakenly.
Don't start pissing off the thread. We at least have other CH3 moved to maiduguri currently flying recon so don't tell me CH3 is a total failure. We can also deploy aircrafts when needed by our troops.
Don't start that rubbish comparisons again and post on topic.
PaulKillerman: A military camouflage is worn by anybody in other parts of the world without worries, what us wrong with the Nigerian soldiers that they won't concentrate on the more pressing issues of national importance....
Black's and foolishness are insepereable
Allowing civilians to use military camo will increase impersonation in Nigeria.
2. Spend Much Time Alone Human are wired for social contact. It is not about how many Facebook friends you have, what matters is a real sense of interaction. People who have that with even just a few close friends are happier and more productive. They are less likely to suffer from brain decline and Alzheimer's. So if you feel alone call some friends or start something new to do or activities that involves other people
Nok234: Not less than 250M$ - maxi 290M$, between the two but for sure a Frigate in Russia is the price of a corvette in europe ... And the Admiral Gorshkov is currently the best multirole Frigate in the world this thing can destroy everything that swim.
africaken254: if they switch on the ADSB while on route ,it shows a trail from which airport they depart from on flightradar24.com. the only solution is to not switch on ADSB
ADSB will be off then ATC has more work to do by monitoring the presidential aircraft and clearing its root. Only the ATC can ID the aircraft with the transponder. Depending on the MODE the aircraft is transmitting on. Some Transponder can only be detected by ground radars and military / airborne etc. ADSB are detectable by Web trackers.
bantudra: Senator Ben Cardin of the Democratic Party, representing Maryland, said on the floor of the Senate on Thursday that the the appalling human rights record of the Nigerian military should deter the new Donald Trump administration from selling fighter planes to Nigeria.
Our mind wasn't there before. Make dem go chop their jet.
africaken254: Presidential and military planes can switch off ADSB so wont be visible on flight tracking sites but the transponder signal will be visible on air traffic control radar screens
Obviously you can't hide a airliner from a radar screen.
Moreover, if something was classified you won't know it's departure time.
martineverest: those paying tuition fees abroad normally source for dollars demselves during dis recession, unlike before.they usually get dollars at black market rate of 500 naira per dollar.....but it has been reduced to 375 when using PTA
No. Tuition fee gets charge at a rate not as expensive as this before.
africaken254: call sign or no call sign,if your keen enough you can easily track those aircrafts.i was able to track jordanian king jet when he left up to jordan. even though they kept switching off/on the ads-b transponder during its flight to jordan, where before he landed other planes were force to abort their land and orbit around the airport as the king jet was given first priority
Changing call sign before flying won't let you know which aircraft is flying. Same thing happened to MRT1 it flew into Gambia with an unknown call sign. Changed call sign back to MRT1 on approach.
africaken254: they try switching on/off the ads-b transponder but still you can track them on site like flightradar24.com . i can tell you from reports i am reading on twitter, all roads leading to kenya president state house are like a parking lot
If it was classified, the bird will be flying under anonymous call sign I guess.

zuchyblink: what do proforce produce? Innoson cars are 70 percent made in Nigeria. [s]The furniture, cables, brake, pads, body, plastic components, battery, tyres and wheels etc are all made in Nigeria. [/s]Proforce are into assembly and make Military vehicles when they are needed, they are not into full time vehicle production. Innoson remains the real deal and are the only recognized indegenous vehicle producer in Nigeria
