LarryBee1k: For the sympathizer of the chinese
In fact, the takeover of the South African country has reached such “commanding heights” that some observers are asking the question, “Is Zambia the first African country to become a full Chinese colony?”
Zambia’s reported ‘colonization’ is due to its government’s failure to repay a US$8B debt to China for infrastructural projects undertaken by the Chinese under programmes like the ”Belt and Road” initiative.
Given the appalling proportions of the debt, it was no surprise that Zambia’s plight was recently highlighted on “The Dr. Mumbi show” —a widely viewed online/TV programme in Africa.
During her show, Dr. Mumbi Seraki noted that China has been given unrestrained control over Zambian resources owing to over-borrowing and the unfiltered immigration of Chinese into the country. It was also highlighted that the Chinese have taken over African neighbourhoods, marketplaces, and major business sectors such as mining and real estate.
Dr. Mumbi noted that the situation is causing conflict between the Chinese immigrants and the locals. But there is nothing that could be done by the Government of Zambia. Their hands are tied.
“If the Zambians complain about something which is done illegally, the Chinese government steps in and says don’t touch my people and the Zambian Government backs down.”
As if that is not enough, Dr. Mumbi said that China has also been grabbing up major State assets.
A few months ago, the state-owned TV and radio news channel, ZNBC, and the Lusaka International Airport were taken over by the Chinese. Even the State’s electricity company, ZESCO, is poised for takeover by the Chinese government owning their loan default, Mumbi stressed. But the government has been denying the reports.
“They (the Government) have been trying to play cool like everything is ok but they have actually been in secret talks over how their national electricity company will be taken over by China,” the African talk-show host revealed.
In addition to all this, the Chinese have closed off a road on the central point of Zambia’s capital, Lusaka.
Given the aforementioned, the Kenyan commentator questioned the logic behind China’s dealings in Zambia’s state- of -affairs.
“Do you think an African company would be allowed control over China’s national electricity? But you know what? It just shows that China’s new colonial strategy is at its climax. And they (China) have been doing this covert business for so long and now they got their tentacles so deep inside (Africa) that it’s going to be hard for some countries turn back,” she said.
The talk-show host also emphasized that China’s whole strategy is encouraging indebtedness.
“They come to Africa with the money. They give and they give (loans) but once you default, they start to take over strategic assets. You see, what China has done is that they have studied countries that have corrupt governments and greedy leaders. That’s the trouble with most African nations. That’s why we find most African nations in this situation.”
She stressed further, that China’s long-term goal is the effective ownership of the commanding heights of Africa’s economy. This is very deep. |

joeluv: There is no evidence to show that if you are infected that would not be infected again. So at this point only vaccine and containment is the solution. While that is currently being investigated, we have little window of opportunity here sir. In your own view, has this lockdown achieved its intended objective?? Thousands already carrying the virus and are actively transmitting the virus as soon as government relax the curfew/lockdown via markets as you've observed across some States. When they transmit to others, they'll go home and stay indoor for days, this ultimately increase the virulence factors of the virus upon subsequent relaxation of lockdown. Instead, perhaps, if herd immunity is being considered, the virus cannot maintain absolute exponential value in the midst of a continues population on daily basis. Eventually it will die down and immunity will start to develop. But for herd immunity to be activated, 50% of the population will have to be infected and the people at higher risk pose a difficult imminent danger. That is my other concern |
Health › Re: Abdullahi Lawal Dies Of Coronavirus Disease In Kano by teadrake(m): 3:59pm On Apr 25, 2020 |
Investnow2017: Have you not read a recent research that herd immunity doesn't work with Covid-19? A Japanese doctor that had worked at the Chinese lab in Wuhan has said that this virus is not natural. He said he had called some lab scientists that he used to work with at that lab and that none of their calls ever got through presuming that likely they must be dead.
The guy is a Nobel Prize winner. He had told the Japanese govt to strip him of his Laurel if they find that he has not told the truth.
And to think that the China govt is going against every effort to ascertain the actual source of this virus is something to worry about.
Disturbing really. . Gratitude for the aforementioned. I read a piece from one of the frontiers treating COVID-19 patient and I was truly disturbed by the very fact that the virus pose unusual pathogenesis with the destructive effect posed on the circulatory system and consequently affecting the central nervous system. In normal viral infections, before a viral infections can advance to such sensitive part, we're talking about secondary stage of infection which take weeks but in this case, its different. In trying to ascertain if this continued lockdown has been absolutely effective, I felt it hasn't with reason(s). In Kwara state for instance, government enforced total lockdown except on Mondays,Wednesdays and Fridays when the lockdown are relaxed between the hours of 8-12pm. Thousands will storm the market at the same rate. This is not sustainable. Covid-19 is highly contagious and the rate of virulence and transmission should ordinarily reduced when an infected patients is in self isolation but the moment an asymptomatic carrier go out of isolation, the infectious viral particles becomes highly virulent again looking for where to attach to quickly maintain active transmission. |

Nairalandmonika: As of this point the only the that will save Kano is if they gain immunity herd, but so many people will die to gain immunity herd. Herd immunity may be our way out of this. Is simply the process whereby a significant percentage of infected population confers immunity to the rest of the population. This method was used in the management of pas outbreak but can we withstand its effect Thousands of people are already infected in Nigeria. Herd immunity might be the best approach |
