Damkollins, I want to thank God firstly and you specially for guiding me through the application for 2014 fswp. My naira debit card was charged today. I want to ask you if it is possible to update my VO after my PER on the possibility of adding a spouse because I plan to go to the registry by January 2015. Kindly advise me on the necessary steps to take. I thank other members of the house for the positive consideration. |

MrsDGN: +1 613-944-4000.
You'll be routed up and down. Listen carefully to the computer instructions. I took note of the instructions. I pressed 1 6 times, then 3, then 1 again. That's 11111131. But not immediately the call connected o. Just wait for each set of instructions. At the last point it'll ask you to enter your UCI don't do anything. It'll ask you 3 different times. Just ignore and hold on. If you don't enter anything it'll tell you to hold for an operator.
Please note that you shouldn't be asking about the status of your application. They would never answer that over the phone. Just tell them you can't seem to find your UCI. That can they please help you with it so you can track your application online. Be very very polite please. They'll ask some security questions so please have all your information ready. And then they'll give it to you. No stress.
Another thing is we were monitoring charge and PER dates on the Canadavisa forum. So we had an idea when PER for our dates were being issued. We waited 3-4 days before calling them. Considering that haven been charged we most likely had a UCI number even though we hadn't received PER. Nice one. Thank you for the info. |

Horayce: House, is it possible to switch from one graduate program to another after a semester? Can you claim the weather was too cold, or change of interest? I'm asking cos i just got accepted at my first choice program but they are asking that i defer till fall which is too far for me, so i want to proceed with my safety school and possibly change after a semester. Is this within the bounds of the law? I think the hassle free option would be to wait till fall but its a long way away, naija could implode in 2015 lol, there's also no guarantee my sponsor would still be willing to finance me by then even though i stand a better chance of landing a TA/RA/GA for fall. Wouldn't it mean i'd just have to request for an update to my immigrations documents( sevis, form ds 160) and proceed after a semester to my choice program? Or would my current school be uspet that i took up a slot they would have given some other prospect? Need your thoughts pls.. US schools and people don't think or act like our lecturers here. Just go ahead with your plans. It will work out for sure by God's Grace. |

homu88: Congratuations Technolee. Let me tap from your blessing. I have mine in a bit and I hope my nerve don't crack. Best wishes in your studies. I got the visa right from the day I booked appointment. Fasted and prayed for 7 good days and I was positive all the way. Just be smart, speak loud and keep good eye contact with the interviewer. I read many transcripts online and it opened my eyes to questions one won't expect to be asked. I wish you all the best in this new month |

If possible, eat what you love most over and over again so that you get tired of it before leaving Nigeria and that way you don't miss it when you get here. Thank you bro. Of all the halls I stayed, I enjoyed awo for the yabis. Most likely, I will come to join you at Steven Harper's domain via the fswp route. I will try to over eat as advised. |

Got to the embassy @ 6:30am, got screened and I saw an underG boy without experience. I began to interview him. He failed my questions and I wasn't too happy with him. A black lady in window 1 denied all the 5 persons that went to her plus the guy I interviewed myself. It was my turn to go to her and I said loudly that the guy beside me heard that, God, let the spirit of denial melt when I get to her. Who says God doesn't answer prayers? Check the interview below; Me: Good Morning Ma VO: You are Ajjjj ....., ME: Corrected her as she was calling my name like an aboki VO: Why are you going to the US? ME: For a masters degree in safety management program VO: why did you choose 'your school'? ME: pardon (didn't hear her well) VO: How many schools did you apply to? ME: 5 schools, 3 in US, 1 in Canada, and 1 in Finland. I mentioned those schools to her VO: Did any of them reject you? ME: not really, just that I am yet to get a supervisor for one US school and the Canadian school VO: Why choose your school? ME: I choose my school because their curriculum aligns with my intended course of study VO: How does the curriculum aligns with it? ME: well, I have been in close relationship with my intended advisor, professor *** VO: (cuts in) you went to the US to see him? ME: NO, via mail and phone calls. So, I questioned him about the courses that would be taken when I get down and I was able to appreciate measurement and instrumentation as an aspect of my course VO: when did you graduate? ME: in 2010 VO: From where? ME: Oba awon uni, here in Nigeria VO: What have you been doing since you graduated? ME: I have been working with AAA as an EEE Engineer VO: What do you mean by EEE? ME: I explained to her with the highest level of gesticulation VO: You said you are going for Safety Management and your I-20 seems to have an issue because I can see here that it is an MBA that you will be majoring in? ME: I saw that myself when I got the I-20 and I mailed the office of international service complaining to them. I have a copies of the correspondence with me here VO: Let me see it ME: handed over to her and she glanced like this guy too sharp for me to denie ooo VO: how do you plan to fund your education? ME: My elder sister will support me VO: Why your elder sister? ME: She has been supporting me since the demise of our father in the year 2002 VO: what does she do? ME: she works with Total naija as a network admin VO: what will you do when you come back to naija? ME: I will work as a consultant to major industries especially the oil and gas firms. I can also work as a safety engineer or Manager VO: Are you married? ME: No VO: Do you have friends in the US? ME: No! The ones I have are done with their academics and are back here in Naija VO: We will issue you a Visa ME: I no hear anything again as I don break jinx for the rest.
Many Thanks to God. No document was asked except for the one I let her check. I took the GRE, TOEFL, and had a bag full of documents.
I also signalled at the guy beside me to confirm to him that I got the visa approved. |

slimmy05: It has something do with your test scores. Please, don't drag this issue further. You guys are all correct. A friend of mine scored 287 in the GRE and 2.5 in AWA. He got admitted with full scholarship even. IMO, it is the sole function of the institution to offer you admission with whatever score you have and it is left to you to defend yourself well in the face of the VO iff he/she asks for your test scores. |
