Travelling to the US on a student visa and failing to enroll in school is a violation of the terms of that visa.

Can you get a B1/B2 tourist visa? Technically, yes.
Will you get a B1/B2 tourist visa? You tell me if you would trust someone who broke the rules once to suddenly start doing the right thing.

Not travelling on your F1, on the other hand, is not a violation. You should be ready to explain it when applying in the future, of course.

@LagosNIV, a quick one, if I have a F1 visa and I entered the US without enrolling in the school and leaves a month after for another country to study or for some other purposes.
Will I be granted a tourist/visit visa if I apply one or two years after?
Will I also be granted if I did not travel to the US at all till the F1 visa expires?

I felt like the whole world was upon me. Every coin counts for me right now. If I see one kobo for road, I can pick it up . Now, whosoever is paying into your account as in ur case, they use their buying rate. I love GTB for Internet banking but their exchange rate is dubious, the margin is wide.

What I mean by completing the application includes your recommenders actually recommending, having your GRE report etc. I was able to complete the application by putting a GRE date and no scores in the application. My application wasn't touched until they received my scanned, official undergrad transcripts and my official GRE report. I had to prepare and I wrote the GRE within 2 weeks just to beat the deadline. UTK receives plenty applications but that is not an excuse for them not to reply to your emails. It took a day for my file to be reviewed by the graduate admissions after which they passed it to my department. Because I was in constant communication with the grad coordinator, decision was made within a week in the department. Two days after, my decision letter was online to view. But UTK is stingy with funds oo

I filled everything bro. They even notified me that my file has been transferred to the department.
That was the last time I heard from them. I choose them because of fund but with your last sentence, my son will never head that way!

walahi! My application was complete. You won't be prompted to pay the application fee without completing the application.
They once replied that they will get back to me soon but to no avail.
They tortured Bigfrancis sometimes ago too before the sharp guy went with college park.

If I get to the state, will take time to visit them in UTK to blast them as they swindled me of my application fee and time.
I was mailing them almost everyday yet, they didn't get back to me. It is over a year now. #badheads

you need someone to question/interview you both over the phone and physically. Also speak your responses while standing in front of a mirror.
Get a 40leaves and list out all possible interview questions and provide a convincing answers.
As much as I hated to jot while reading, I comported myself and did as stated above.
My interview was just a mere chat in the end because I have answer to the questions asked.
Shoot again and get a good coach like; Slimmy, innovativeame, Profojah, Walspring, godG, etc.
It will end in praise for you, that I know for Sure.

Try defer your admission to spring 2016 because if you visit the embassy within the next three (3) months they will still give you form 214(B).

From personal experience.

I visited the embassy June 3rd and was issues form 214(B) and revisited yesterday but the Chinese guy didn't ask me any serious question. He asked me where am going in US, Reason why i'm going and said "u're here recently...i said yes". He just issued me another form 214(B) without asking any further question.

That guy chop sh*it nii.
Visiting the embassy earlier does not call for a denial unless you have been highlighted for something bad or the chinese guy just broke up with his babe!
