Now I know Nigeria is sitting on a mighty keg of gun powder waiting to explode. Major Orkah and his gang were men who saw through tomorrow. Afriifa: If you think Nigerians are civilized enough to live together in one country then, you are damn wrong.
that's a prof talking, not just any prof but a former Vice Chancellor of a reputable University..
issues like this constitute the reason why Igbos want a separate republic. because this shithole of a country is of no use to them when one region usually show their imprudence with impunity.
my people from the south west aren't helping matters because they felt they are better of than those from the south east.
the middle beltans(benue) have learnt their lesson in a bitter way.
the Niger Deltans should step up and seek for their independence.. we are not slaves. we are not second class citizens.
if a prof would render such statements because of what he believes(knows) to be truth, what are you expecting from the common people in the region?
ask yourselves South-Westerners! ask yourselves South-Easternes! ask yourself Middle Beltans! ask yourselves Niger Deltans!
is this the country our forefathers wanted us to live in? if our forefathers made a mistake, why not correct it for our next generation when we still have the chance..

Politics › Re: Former Jonathan’s Aide, Ahmed Gulak Decamps To APC by Tecno66: 12:43pm On Feb 18, 2018 |
PDP were lucky not to have made him their national chairman. yns4real: A former presidential aide from Adamawa State on Saturday officially decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Ahmed Gulak, who was political adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, and later tried unsuccessfully to become PDP’s national chairman, said he was leading “42,000” people to the ruling APC.
He said they were “forced to leave PDP” by “impunity and lack of internal democracy”. “Members of the PDP numbering 42,000 across the 21 local government areas including party executives have today wished to formally dump PDP and join APC officially.
‘’With this development, we formally bury PDP in Adamawa state,” he said. “Though we are not like others, who kept decamping when their dreams and ambitions were not met. “Constitutionally we have the right to leave and join any other party. Former President Obasanjo had earlier left PDP and tore his party membership card.
“So also former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; it could be recalled had first left PDP and joined AC that later metamorphosed to ACN. From ACN, Atiku returned back to PDP that he first left and before you know the former vice president again cross-carpeted to APC and now left to PDP again.
“So everyone has right to change if they feel disenchanted and we have made consultations with our people who asked us to move to APC.
He said the government’s “degrading of Boko Haram terrorists” was enough to justify the defection. Salihu Mustapha, APC North-East chairman, said the decamping was a result of the good work of the APC administration. “All federal roads have been awarded for rehabilitation while some have reached concluding state of bidding for awarding by federal government,” said he.
Reacting, the state PDP chairman of the party, Tahir Shehu, said their defection would be a big relief to the PDP, saying, “most of them were lured by Governor Jibrilla Bindow for juicy position while others have skeleton in their cupboards, and they were afraid of EFCC’s hammer.”

Career › Re: 150 Federal Deputy Directors Fail Promotion Exams by Tecno66: 12:32pm On Feb 18, 2018 |
I know say the pass mark for south go different from north to balance the thing. bomanice67: No fewer than 150 federal civil service deputy directors, who sat for promotion examinations, failed the test, it was learnt yesterday. Head of Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita broke the news at a quarterly meeting with organised labour, conducted by her office in Abuja, on Wednesday. Mrs. Oyo-Ita also announced that a court injunction on the promotion of the 2014 1 of directors in the administration cadre of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies has finally been lifted. She said the lifting of the injunction would enable the civil service administrative positions, which were filled by officers in acting capacity, to be filled by substantive directors.
“I am particularly delighted to inform you that the issue of promotion for the 2014 batch of directors in the Administration Cadre has been finally resolved. “The lifting of the court injunction on this issue also led to the conduct of examinations for 2015 – 2017 batch of directors in the same cadre. “Over 290 Deputy Directors sat for the examination out of which only about 140 were successful. I am certain that going forward, the civil service will ventilate itself and officers will be rewarded for hard work. “With this, we now have a solution to the issue of dearth of Directors of Administration in MDAs. Departments, which were hitherto manned by officers in acting capacity, would now be manned by substantive directors,” she said. Mrs. Oyo-Ita also addressed the issues of service delivery and a conducive working environment for staff. “The issue of a conducive working environment for staff that has been raised by organised labour is very dear to my heart.
“To achieve this, I have set up a committee on office allocation and expansion with a focus on maintenance, rehabilitation and expansion of office allocations to MDAs,” Mrs. Oyo-Ita said.

Thats why they didnt make him the AGF because he will extend the boundaries drawn for him. A anti corruption war that is moderated from higher quarters can never succeed. stephanie11: @POLITICSNGR
Foremost Human rights lawyer, Chief Femi Falana has said that the fight against corruption in Nigeria is being sabotaged by officials appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.
Falana disclosed that the anti-corruption movement is being marred by the appointments of corrupt individuals in public offices.
He told Thisday;
"No doubt, the Buhari administration declared a war on corruption. But the regime is currently sabotaging the war through the questionable reinstatement of highly corrupt public officers. Apart from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, other anti-graft agencies have been tactically castrated by the Senate which has refused to confirm the members of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Code of Conduct Bureau. The national assembly has also failed to pass the bills for the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Court, Whistle Blowing Bill, Proceed of Crime Bill etc.
The Buhari regime has not mobilized and involved the Nigerian pon. Hence the people have not joined issues with the legislators on the refusal to pass the necessary bills to fight corruption. By reinstating and retaining corrupt public officers the regime is encouraging corruption to fight back. The APC controls the majority of the members of the national assembly. Yet the assembly is dedicated to the frustration of the war against corruption. Out of the 21 states controlled by the APC, only Kano state has an anti-corruption agency."

I dont think Saraki is fulfiling any condition to be accepted by PDP. He is a big fish and will be accepted anyday. It could be his own way of getting back at the executive for all the assault on him using the CCB. But on the other hand, whats the fuse of the presidential election coming first or last if our people are honest to themselves? LordAdam16: Oga, it will be sent to Buhari. Of course Buhari wouldn't sign it. Then it would come back to the Senate and they'd veto it. The Executive and/or INEC may take the case to court, but the Judiciary will back the Senate.
This is prolly part of the preconditions Saraki et al have to do before PDP accepts them. Or it could just be Saraki et al making sure they secure their mandates regardless of what happens to Buhari. It's every man for himself.

I will applaud them when they attack killer herdsmen with same precision. PrettyCrystal: Confirmed multiple reports have it that Augustin Agulegbu, the chief security officer (CSO) to late and dreaded serial killer Johnson Igwedibia fondly called Don Wanny - is dead. According to reports, Augustin was shot dead by officers of the department of Department of State Services (DSS) early hours of today.
The kidnap kingpin and mass murderer, Don Wanny was killed in his hideout in Enugu state earlier this year.
A combined team of troops of eighty-two Division Nigerian Army Enugu and personnel of DSS Rivers State Command raided the hideout to arrest him and his other accomplices. They attempted to escape through the back exit of the apartment and were shot down by the eagle eyed troops in the process.
The notorious gang of criminals murdered 23 peace loving citizens of Omoku in Rivers state when they were returning from Cross Over Service at about 1:30am on Monday 1st January 2018.
The CSO of Late Don Wanny who was amongst the 32 Cultists declared wanted by the State Security Council was killed following accurate DSS intelligence.

If IPOB was behing this, I am sure the full weight of the armed forces would have been unleashed on them. In 2019, we will have a choice of stopping this or allowing it to continue. Rachelsblog: This is no longer daily again, The increase of killing and butcering in Fulani Herdsmen is now every hour, Another woman from Urhobo has been macheted by them while she was farming this morning around 7.30am in ofunwengbe community, in ovia south west LG of Edo State
The elderly woman was with her daughter when her ear was also cut off..
According to the woman, the Fulani herdsmen entered her farm and met her working before she knew what was happening, the herdsmen were trying to rape her by pointing gun at her but for her determination and boldness, she was able to drag the gun from him.
During the process of dragging the gun, another one of them used her machete to butcher her and her child. The child has since be taken to the specialist hospital in Benin.

Barely 48 hours after the release of three lecturers of University of Maiduguri and 10 police officers’ wives by the Boko Haram, President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned an emergency security meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting which started at about 11.00 a.m., is attended by all service chiefs and Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
It was observed that the Minister of Interior, retired Lt. Gen. Abdulrahma Dambazau and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, might brief the Council on some security related matters.
Some heads of para-military organisations under the ministry were also seen at the venue of the meeting.
PoliticsNGR gathered that the release of three lecturers of the University of Maiduguri and 10 police officers’ wife by the Boko Haram sect on Saturday might be part of matters to be discussed at the council.
It would be recalled that the Department of State Services (DSS) on Saturday briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the negotiated release of the lecturers and police officers’ wives.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, who announced the release in a statement in Abuja, recalled that those released were abducted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists at Magumeri in Borno.
He said their release followed series of negotiations as directed by President Buhari and was facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
