Very possible. I'll advice you keep communication with your DSO when you do that though. Also, plan to complete the process before you start the semester.

Purplestorm:
Good evening guys, please I’ll like to ask if it is possible to change course of study in the same school when you get to USA after receiving your study visa?

There is an atm at the embassy inside.
But sometimes it doesn’t work, so it’s best to go with cash.
Okay. Thank you for the info!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes.

I have had to travel a lot, so I have decent experience in visa interviews. Even though I have never been denied a visa, for some reason I felt jittery and apprehensive about this particular interview, so I understand the anxiety most of you feel, but try to stay calm and focused on your goal. We will all be fine, eventually.

In answer to some of the questions:

Reciprocity fee is 42,900.

Also, Every single country I ever travelled to, I HAVE ALWAYS DONE EVERYTHING MYSELF AND AVOIDED AGENTS LIKE THE PLAGUE. Read and follow the instructions, if u are applying for F1 you are probably literate and computer savvy.

May the odds forever be in our favour!
Congratulations! Pls, is it possible to pay the reciprocity fee with card or is there an atm in the embassy?
Also, are you going for am undergrad or grad course?
Thanks!

Hi all, for those who have paid the reciprocity fee (or have valid info), does the embassy really want people to bring cash or will there be options of card payment at the embassy if visa is approved?

Reply will be highly appreciated

Hi Guys,

Thank you all so much for your contribution on this platform.

This is where I am at:

I got admission into 6 US universities.

Please.

Thank you.
Congrats. My advice if you cannot afford a semester's tuition
1. If possible, get your visa this year and defer till spring 2021 or even Fall.
2. After deferring, start getting in touch with Professors for Assistantship (GA, TA, GPTI) or any similar position that will waive most of your tuition and pay you a stipend. If you can get admission into 6 Universities, I'm sure you can get Assistantship if you put in more efforts and talk to the right people.

On the other hand, if you can cough out a semester's tuition, proceed to TTU or NCA&T, you'll most likely get a TA or GA after your first year.

Best wishes!

Finally landed 2 weeks ago as a single man. Passed through Immigration and customs without no problem in MMIA. Both Luggage were over 23 kg while carry on was over 7 kg. The guys at Ethiopian airline stand allowed me to add more weight to the carry on to make it 12kg while the luggages were left at 25kg each. Trip to Adisabba was long, and then Dublin and then Toronto. Couldn't eat the food served in the plane, only ate the bread and Red wine. Landed on Saturday, went through immigration and customs in Toronto without any problem and then the final leg of the journey to Calgary. I am currently staying with a friend who is married. I have done my SIN, Health Card, bought a sim, visited 2 immigration services (CCIS and Mustard seed ministry) in downtown. I was able to get a reduced bus pass for the month of June and paid $37.5 instead of $104 or so. If you are less than 30yrs, You can visit CCIS, they have a 2 weeks employment training. I met a Nigerian there and he told me about the training and also showed me his check . If you attend it without missing a class , they will pay you $900. I couldn't do it cos I am over that age. I have also learnt the bus and train route system after downloading the Calgary transit app. I am also currently studying for the Alberta driver's license exam. Both fields that I have experience in (Geoscience & Real estate )are licensed here, so I am currently looking for a job while I prepare to do a 2 yrs course in SAIT. Please kindly link me up if you have any. Thanks
@ bolded: is the training also available in Toronto? My age qualifies for this and I am highly interested. I travel this weekend and will deeply appreciate a response and info.

Thanks.

Greetings all, I plan to land in Toronto in a couple of days and will like to inquire about a suitable bank account to open. I am interested in an account that will waive monthly fees (now and in the future) with a direct deposit or with a minimum balance of not more than $500 CAD.

Also, tips/connections on how to get a 'survival job' immediately after landing will be deeply appreciated.

Much thanks.

Hello FAM;
Got a question, don't know if anyone has experience. On Monday, 13th May, i put a call to CIC and was told i should receive a letter shortly. I waited till Friday, 17th May 2019 and called again, this time i was congratulated by the call agent that my application had been approved and i should have received an email for passport request letter.

Hopefully soon i can complete it by saying " Be ready, though you pass through the furnace of patience the fire shall not burn thee because thou shall come out victorious"...
Hi, just as everyone has advised, hang in there. It's definitely closer than you imagine. Also I guess you're doing this already but for emphasis, check you spam mail, junk mail, archived mail, (just open every box in your mail - on a laptop or desktop). Recently, while working on a desktop, I saw some mails in my junk box which I cannot see or access while checking my mail from my phone.

My point is - by all means, double check from your end.

It will end in praise. Expecting your PPR story soon.

please how did you remove your Bsc from the WES account. I want to do that for my spouse. From the WES account page I can see "modify your order". But its only 3 options that I can see,: 1.add recipients
2.order additional copies
3.make changes to your delivery and processing options
Call WES and/or send a 'contact us' form requesting that you will like to remove a certificate and add another. You will need to include the full name of the certificate you want to remove, the year you started and completed the program, country certificate was obtained and date it was obtained.

PPR STORY

The decision to try EE - May 2018
IELTS - Oct 28, 2018 - L8.5 R7.5 S7.5 W7.5

ECA - February 12, 2019
EE Cut off Draw - 457

CSE 2 Raised - To know VO processing application - April 25, 2019
PPR mail - May 14, 2019
PO - CIO Sydney, Nova Scotia

I decided to consider Canada EE during the third semester of my Master's program. I was almost getting tired of studying for a Ph.D. Also, my proposed 'girlfriend' started showing me some glorious signs of what it means to marry an American grin. I decided to give her some space, and focus on Canada cool.

IELTS: I really didn't prepare for this. I had written GRE a few years back and TOEFL earlier in the year. I was convinced IELTS wouldn't be much of a problem. I only read the official IELTS brochure detailing the type and format of questions to expect.

ECA: I graduated from Yaba Tech with ND and HND in Food Technology. When I realized ND and HND can be evaluated to 2 or more degrees, I decided to give it a try. I have an evaluated course by course WES US transcript. I requested that WES US transfer my documents to WES Canada and paid the 210 CAD. However, after transferring my documents, WES insisted that I must provide SSCE/WAEC verification. I complained and explained to them that I already have a completed evaluated transcript in 2016 and that WAEC was not a requirement then. After several calls and emails to WES, they insisted I must provide WAEC verification. Since I was scheduled to complete my master's degree in December 2018, I decided to remove my ND and HND certificate from my WES account and evaluated my Msc without WAEC. That meant that I had to wait till January to send my Msc transcript to WES.

PCC: Inspector Moshood came to the rescue. Gladly paid 6K, filled the necessary docs and my younger brother helped me to collect from him.

Work Experience: I claimed three years as a fish processing plant supervisor. I had worked on our 'little catfish farm' from 2013 - 2016. It is a family farm and I wasn't paid salary but got a commission every time we sold the fishes. I included in my reference letter that I received my income in the form of a commission based on the profit margin made by the fish plant. I didn't include payslip nor bank statement as I had none. Honestly, this was the greatest fear I had. The farm had no internet presence and was not registered as at then. I later encouraged my Dad to register the farm earlier this year just for future purposes.

EE Pool: Based on my age and certificates, I was fortunate to have a high simulated CRS score. Thus, I was sure that regardless of how high the cut-off score may be, as long as I am in the pool, I will most likely get an ITA once a draw is done. I started my EE application Feb 8 but couldn't submit my application. I was expecting WES to complete ECA Feb 18. Fortunately, they completed it on Feb 12. I immediately entered the pool thinking there should be a draw on Feb 13. Unfortunately, there was no draw on Feb 13. Three weeks gap between draws ensured that the next draw on Feb 20 had a high cut-off - 457. I however still got ITA based on my high CRS score.

Medicals and Biometrics: These were quite easy. All I had to do was make a call, book an appointment and get my results. I followed up my medicals with a call just to ensure results were sent in time.

After my medicals, I submitted my application and got AOR on Feb 27. The Hospital informed me that they sent my medical result to CIC on Mar 14. I was expecting MEP/BIL a month after my AOR which should be on Mar 27. I didn't get any. While relaxing and reading NL, I realized I didn't submit my ECA certificate. I only included my ECA number. @Topsmamen advised some who didn't submit ECA certificate to raise CSE. While some folks were arguing whether it affects R10 or not, I decided to raise CSE on Mar 27th. Finally, medical was passed and I got a request for biometrics on April 11, 2019.

A week after biometrics (April 25), I decided to raise another CSE just to find out VO processing my application. I didn't get a response until May 2nd. From May 5th to May 12th, I noticed some subtle changes or updates on my account. However, I wasn't really sure how to know IP1 or IP2 so, I decided to ignore it.

Finally, I woke up on May 14th and got the PPR email.

N.B: My timeline and story may be slightly different and concise. I am currently studying in the U.S and I don't want to add irrelevant stories.

Madam script-grader grin - Grade this story with mercy. Also, give me my bonus one point abeg. cheesy

Thanks to all, for all the information and insight, shared on this platform. May it all end in praise.

Hi family, I need advice! I am about moving to US with a F1 student visa, but I am particular of moving into Canada therefrom as an immigrant. Please, YOU CAN CRUCIFY ME, BUT JUST HELP with the pros and cons or better still, if you have personal experience, please share with a brother.

I wouldn't commit crime, I don't do shit, JUST LEGAL SURVIVAL lead. Please help or give lead to a thread or place I can get firsthand info. Thanks!
These days, I tend to encourage married folks to consider Canada. Single guys who are not engaged and are going for Msc/Bsc in the U.S may find it easier to get an American spouse after spending two-four years of their program (just my opinion).

Questions to respond to

1. Are you married or engaged? If No, what is your opinion about marrying an American?
2. Do you really love academics and will you like to do a Ph.D. (not just to maintain status?)
3. Which city will you reside in the U.S?
4. Will you get stipend and scholarships for your program?
5. Do you have 2 or more certificates right now and can you start the EE process?

If you are not married and you are going for a Masters program, you can go for the F1 visa and 'watch and pray' for a spouse. (p.s also be ready to deal with the cons that come thereafter).

This is my fear oh...do I just print out the last six months of 2017 from online banking.....
In my opinion, the reference letter in CIC format and any other document (ID Card while working in Nigeria) may be enough proof for the Job.. Since your Nigeria statement of account is not needed for POF. However, if you can call Gtbank to send the statement of account to U.S, then that's fine also...

Greetings House,
Pls, I need advice with respect to NOC and Job Qualifications. As a graduate of Food Technology with three years plus working experience in a Bank, can I use a Bank related NOC as my primary NOC? Obviously, my current job duties are quite different from what I studied in school as a Food Technologist. When I checked the requirements for a similar NOC to what I am currently doing -Financial sales representatives, one of the employment requirement is that a bachelor's degree or college diploma related to commerce or economics may be required.
Does anyone have a similar situation or has anyone seen similar cases?

Advice will be deeply appreciated.
