this is something I say.

if you like him, tell him how you feel. chances are he either feels the same way or the feeling isn't mutual.

whatever the outcome, life must go on.

what I find in high distaste is mocking a lady for baring out her feelings or taking advantage of her emotions.

using achi instead of egusi for soup.
the result was my mum shouting and a pot of soup wasted.

so those of us who are still LLB students, are u saying we have made the mistake of our lives studying this course?
the negativity this days is baffling and absolutely discouraging
nobody is discouraging you nor saying you have made a mistake. all I am saying is, be prepared for what the future would hold if you want to practice because the first few years especially if you are not so patient can be very.............

see ehn, the only reason why I am not surprised at the challenges this profession has is because from time I knew it will not be easy esp the first few years after call to bar.

nobody is discouraging you, it is being realistic.
EducationRe: ? by Teespice(f): 5:58pm On Nov 12, 2017
remi1444,

your mention brought me here.

queenfav to a large extent is being realistic. all I can say is pick out the positives from her post.

personally, being a lawyer has its own challenges especially in the area of finance. as it is, getting another office is tough.

I saw your post where you mentioned rich lawyers and you called my handle. abeg, forgive me if my posts gave you that very wrong impression. you have no idea how much I struggle. sometimes, some things are best left unsaid so as to not discourage those who may want to study law and as they say, experience is the best teacher.

besides, all I talk about is the court room experience. I never talked about living large biko.

one thing I realize is that it takes a lot of patience and hard work to make it.

cheers.

ps- op, you can talk to some lawyers in your vicinity. they might be of assistance.

obinoscopy, mynd44 please do the needful.

I hardly comment on this thread but I check it out everyday to pick out few things to learn but the likes of this is disturbing the peace of this thread.

ewa26 or whatever you go by, your nuisance on this thread is becoming annoying and very irritating to say the least. if you cannot contribute positively then shut it.

you think you are being funny but you are becoming irritating. we have seen dishes made by you in the past. trust me it is not what I would feed the ekuke roaming in my street. that's to show you how disgusting your food is picture wise and presentation.

spinless critic.

No worries. Your perspective. Ultimately, I wear the shoes and I think I made the best decision in the circumstances.

In any event;
1. I grew tremendously in the 2 years. Note that I said I gained 5 years worth experience in 2. That suggests growth and some effort at personal development.

2. It is too general a statement to say all businesses are for the endowment of their owners. If that were true, no multinational and multijurisdictional would exist today, as the driving philosophy behind these coorporations is more than self perpetuation or endowment.

3. There's a thin line between criticism and abuse. Even criticism must be constructive and one must learn to draw the line between a healthy dose which you need to grow and that which corrodes your confidence. You must know when to "chicken out", if you have to.

4. There are no perfect places. So I'm not under the illusion that my new law firm is heaven but, to me, it represents a push in the right direction.

I hope with these few points of mine, I have been able to convince and not confuse you.... cheesy

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Cheers.
number 3 is so true.

what people fail to realise is that there is a way you criticise someone to the point where that individual loses his self confidence. money isn't everything. imagine having to go to work and your mind isn't at rest because you don't have an idea what missile would be thrown your way.

even when one does a good job, compliments would come in form of criticism. how then does one expect to give his/her all when the one given is not appreciated in first place.

congratulations on the new job. wishing you greater heights.

instead of complaining about a supposed decree nisi for the dissolution of your marriage, why not file an appeal.

EducationRe: 200 UNILAG Law Students Barred From Writing Exam Over Class Attendance by Teespice(f): 10:55am On Oct 14, 2017
the rule has been there in the student hand book as well as the exam docket.

another thing to consider is that the rule from the period I was in the faculty was not strictly enforced. emphasis on strictly.

it is a different ball game in Law school as attendance is not something to be joked with.

for the present dean who I know to be a no nonsense disciplinarian to enforce this rule means that she's trying to improve on the standards the faculty of law is known for.
