nevilbot: My question is based on the travel insurance. Please I av a one year travel with mansard insurance. Can I use it or is it compulsory that it most be 3 months. Ur advice qil b apreciatedThe letter says "...travel health insurance valid FOR 3 months starting from the date of travel" and when 1 is issued visa, the 90 days on the health insurance doc...corresponds to the no of days u will be given/stamped on the visa. So if ur health insurance is from 1Oct to 31Dec, normally u will get 90 days i.e from 1Oct to 31Dec but if u tell her u are flyn on 10 Oct, she will stamp 10 Oct on ur visa ...meaning 10 days will be deducted from ur 90 days...hence u will end up with 80 days on ur visa. So based on ur question i am not so sure but i think dey may still hv to select 3 months from the 1year insurance u present, so they can work with it the way i explained above. Hope u find dis useful even if not conclusive enough. My 2.5 cowries |
abiegirl: Na Emirates o, had to leave a lot of my clothes behind but made sure I came with my long sleeves, flat shoes, jeans, sweaters and jackets. Food stuff, not much at all. I paid about 119k for the flight and my luggage was 2kg overweight but a kind staff at the check in counter waived it for me. The flight was to Frankfurt.@abigirl, congrates. I'm happy for u. But how exactly does dis weight tin work? i.e all ur load put together must be 30kg or 54kg? or u can take some other bags with smaller weight, pls lemme know because i just booked to Frankfurt too. |
emeka55: If you arrive Germany and u want to change your University or course, it is advisable u conclude one semester at your present University. By then u must have got your residence permit and settled every paper work and all of these u must do with the University name indicated on your Visa. Thanks u @emeka for ur reply...but i forgot to mention it is an M.Sc programme i am going in for. Hope same rules apply? |
Eke40seven: These questions that thou seekest answers to severally yet prove elusive, i' faith it must have brought much worry in thine heart. Thanks u eke for ur reply...but i forgot to mention it is an M.Sc programme i am going in for. Hope same rules apply? |
emeka55: ... Even if it is not your dream course, as long as it gets u a visa, u can change after you arrive...Hello Emeka, i hv read almost all ur posts here, they are amongst d most enlightening ones here, direct, clear and from experience. I appreciate ur posts. I would like to ask about dat statement i boldened above (i hv tried to google stuff on it, without success): (1) When one gets a visa and travels for a particular course in a university like an FH and on getting there wants to change to a similar course at like a TU...how does he go about it exactly (processes, setbacks involved)? (2) Is it after finishing d 1st semester at d first univ. (d FH for instance) dat he can then apply for transfer to d other univ.(d TU for instance) to join dem in the 2nd semester with ur points earned from d initial school? (3) Can one just decide to transfer from one univ. to another, even one dat he/she might normally hv been rejected for? NB: considering univs. in the same state, different states, & courses slightly related, not too related. Thanks in advance. @Eke, @naijaobi, @lacuna, @others i see u all...been seeing all ur inspiring/helpful comments, would appreciate ur comments also. Pls o, help me out...Thanks |

nkechima: Thanks for calling me naughty with a smile but I think I do not deserve such from UNo...i am not trying to insult u, i was just playing around. I actually wrote anoda tin, d admin. changed it. What i jokingly wrote looks/sounds like "Achso". I guess it is not appropriate to write it here. To show u i meant notin by it...lemme gv an answer to ur initial question: U hv to search www.daad.de for ur suitable UG prog. though, they are mostly in german....u cud see english progs. sha if u search heard! I cud hv helped u more if u were going for M.Sc in Engingeering progs... Goodluck in ur search. |

Good day ppl...pls does anyone know if NEM INSURANCE'S TRAVEL HEALTH PACKAGE is accepted in German Embassy? pls...an urgent reply would be deeply appreciated. Thanks. |
afodam247: thank God. thanx a lot bro, I really appreciate this. But when u go for interview, German embassy wud usually stamp the middle of your passport b4 giving it back to u, hope when u eventually go to the other embassy 3 days after they wud not see & understand what d stamped page means & question u about it? |
phucado: I ask again. Please I am yet to fund my account and my interview date draws nigh. Can I attend my interview without funding the account and pay the money later?I answered dis exact question while quoting u...what else do u want to hear? |
terryo1: Congrats bro. Please how long after ur interview were u contacted? All the bestI did my interview 25 July & was contacted 13 August. So 2 weeks & 5 days. |
yapyap: What alternative do one have if he lost his original waec result?Do u have a statement of waec result from your secondary school &/or masterlist (containing all ur grades along with those of students that wrote d exam with u)? Then present a waec scratch card. U could try this if d time frame to replace it may take u too long...just a suggestion, not from experience though. |
@bissiejoe, @naijaobi, @Eke d grammarian, @others....thanks, i appreciate! |
Hello people, I have finally received my invitation to come along with my passport & 3 month travel health insurance package. I would like to thank u all for generously dishing out helpful info. overtime! I would like to ask if the 'date of travel' i stated on my visa application form must correspond with the one i am expected to state on my 3 month travel health insurance? i am currently not in Lagos and may not be returning soon (i.e after my stated 'date of travel') i would want to shift d travel date sha! hope no consequences? |
Is this now like a circus? Please let us be serious. This 'King James Lang.' should be forwarded to private emails or private chats of those enjoying it. Please biko, so dat person no go dey scratch head to follow wetin dey happen here. Thanks! |
Eke40seven: @lacuna the visual clarity of the written descriptions of your experiences are 'motion-picturesque'. Narrated with a captivating simplicity that will compel the deepest bibliophobe to read and comprehend every word.hmmmm... |
mayya: Hello house, I did my blocked account opening in abuja. And no slip was given. I sent the documents myself. Now do I have to wait till the bank sends my account details b4 I can book a visa appointment ? Please what should I doI guess d guy above answers ur question. |
aoj01: I also got an offer frm OVGU magdeburg, are you heading there?Pls, what course did u apply 4 & when did u get d offer? |
jtbaba1: when did u apply?May/June...weeks b4 the deadline. |
jtbaba1: Any body with experience with Cologne University of Applied Sciences..how quick is their response on admission.I applied to a couple of schools...only one (my least loved) has responded positively, so i am using it to process my visa for now. Cologne univ. of Applied Science (M.Eng Automation & IT) is 1 of the others...i hv heard notin from them. |
naijaobi: his question is based on interview not filling form. So do u think saying parents during interview is wrong?o...No. i guess i mixed it up! 'parents' is fine. |
naijaobi: you mean saying parents is wrong?Nop, but i believe 'Family' is a better term when filling forms like this until when asked for details. |
phucado: Is it possible to attend interviews without paying the 8040 euros? If yes, at the end will they request that you drop your passport or you will have to come back to drop your passport when you have paid the money? What are the chances of getting a visa when you atteneded interview without payment of money. Thanks.Yes u can attend the interview without d money in ur blocked a/c...infact dat is what many ppl in dis thread are doing, but visa will be issued only after u hv funded it. They will not request dat u drop ur passport, u will go with it...although u hv to leave behind all ur original documents until u are invited for d visa. I do not think ur visa chances would be affected by lack of fund in a/c as long as u hv met all other requiements. I advice u to read previous pages from dis thread if u r really interested in dis tin..u will benefit a lot & all these questions u r asking hv all been trashed! Thanks. |
osurvey: please guys, assuming during the interview i am asked who is my sponsor. Can i answer my parents or do i say either my father or mother?Family sponsored. U do not hv to say any specific one...until when asked. |
yapyap: Good dayhouse! Do we need to fill the permanent residence form brfore going for interview? Also can one use statement of degree result for the interview if the original is not available yet?Of course, u have to sit down and carefully fill it, choosing your words & answers carefully. Be very careful when ticking the anti-terrorism part of it. This is not like the form used to open blocked a/c. As per the Statement of Result in place of the Certificate, some guys in this thread have talked about it b4 & confirmed that it can be used. Just search for their conversation for more details. & it is called 'Application for Residence permit' form or maybe 'Visa Application' form not 'Permanent Residence' form. |
lacuna: Does common sense not tell you that the two MAJOR reasons visa applications are rejected are poor interview performance and inadequate or unsatisfactory documentations?"...It is as easy as anything" is not an 'ok way' to say it. there are ppl who hv been rejected despite having adequate docs and performing well at their interview...well, ur opinion! |
lacuna: I can say, unequivocally, that travelling to Germany for studies is as easy as anything. All anyone needs is to get the right documents and put up a good performance at your interview.....YOU WILL GET YOUR VISA& how many cases/samples hv u observed/studied over a period to make u jump to this ur "UNEQUIVOCAL" conclusion? or do visa 'rejectees' give u a call everyday? |
abiegirl: Make una follow me celebrate. I picked up my visa from d consulate today.Wow! thank God for this good news...i am very happy for u. pls i hv a question: what date was ur interview...i am trying to calculate if the 1week break at the embassy extended ur ivsa collection date, considering the 2weeks or 2weeks3days talked about by a coule of ppl here. |
nevilbot: my visa interview is this friday, i am preparing like mad using the questions i got here on naira land. all set except the passport. na my blocked act opening confirmation i wan use cus i neva fund my account even doe i av goten the act no. thanks to bissiejoe for giving me hope.Do not forget ur N13,500...it's d 1st thing she asked from me! |
Nimakor: I once asked a prospective school this and I was told to deal with the embassy in 'your country'. So, a yes from them is much like a rubberstamp.k...thanks. |
Eke40seven: Yea, may be someone who had done a similar thing can elaborate on his/her experience. This things have legal interpretations to it and sometimes opinions from people may not bear out the real meaning and implications.k...thanks. |
