PAYnDRIVE: The Nigerian military is a significant factor in the country’s insecurity; we must face this reality. Not all situations can be resolved with guns and bullets. The military’s decision to violently remove Boko Haram’s leader contributed to the insurgency’s growth, and now they struggle to manage the situation. The same pattern is evident in the East, where the military's brutal response to protesters led to the rise of unknown gunmen.I quite agree.
The #EndSARS protest, initially peaceful, escalated into violence and looting after the military intervened. Given the widespread frustration and hunger in the country, the risk is high that any attempt to suppress upcoming protests with force could have severe consequences. The northern regions are particularly mobilized, and forceful measures could potentially destabilize the nation further.
Peaceful and constructive solutions are crucial to avoid worsening the situation. |

DeLaRue: O.5% or 0.005?
0.5% will strangulate the economy. That means for every N1 million transfer, there's a levy of N5,000. That's on top of other bank charges. This is an evil tax, no more, no less.
Also, why is the tax ring fenced for the National Security Adviser, when it should go into the national purse and budgeted to the NSA from there. This unholy scheme will make the NSA one of the most 'juicy' and corrupt offices in the land.
Did the Committee on multiple taxation approve this tax? All these multiple taxation will kill enterprise and lead to job losses as people will give up even trying to establish or run businesses.
Nigeria is the only country I know where the Central bank imposes taxes nilly willy. Neither the Bank of England nor the FED impose taxes. What is the job of the Ministry of Finance.
Nigeria is set up and run the wrong way. I tell you. |

nedekid: Providus bank. The normal one has limit of around $300 monthly for online purchases. It does not work abroad. I use the platinum card which works abroad and online with a $3k monthly limit. The platinum card gives access to executive lounges at the airport in Abuja and Lagos and others abroad. Guess what, it is only ₦4k to get the card. It is a regular naira card that deducts from your naira account. Thanks for the info. |

I believe , the day political office holders become the MAIN TARGET of kidnappers, bandits and other criminals that is when the masses will have a great relief because the government will have a POLITICAL WILL to solve our insecurity challenges with all sincerity. ZombieTAMER: Boko Haram members decapitate Nigerian soldiers, and it's not news
The NA don't retaliate they don't burn down houses in Borno or harass civilians
What then is the definition of double standard
The thing below is quick to defend Boko haram and the Northern villages housing them... The NA in Borno are not interested in peace returning to the region ? I already know it supported Buhari for eight years and capped it up with Tinubu The tribe that support Injustice in the South, while claiming they're southerners.. Black foreheads everywhere. You said it all.Boko Haram killing of thousands of soldiers in the north have never become a national tragedy, but when robbers kill few in the Niger Delta it becomes a national tragedy .What double standard!! |

crossfm: Hehehe.
What Nigeria army should be doing now is gathering intelligence, not just occupying that village.
If they dig well and cooperate well with the members of the community they will get their answers.
Burning down that village will bring them nothing.
They are just instilling fear and making the main culprits to run far away.
Another thing I don't like is the double standard in Nigeria. Let me make it clear that I don't and will never support the useless people who carried out these act,but if this issue was to be in the north, will they be burning down the whole village and killing innocent citizens?.
I pointed out the manners the Nigeria army respect and interacts with people in the north on a thread few weeks ago,and this incident has vindicated me.
Nigeria depicts a pure picture of the Animal Farm. All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. The so called southern leaders are cowards for not speaking out about this . |

THUNDER4real: The Nigerian army is overstretched. They will do police work, that’s why they are not respected. What is the military doing there before they were slaughtered. They are just lucky guns are not legalized in Nigeria, as they are coming back to burn down the community, they will be met by more bullets and they will lose more of their officers. The government should send all military men back to barracks. Exactly,Soldiers would kill scores of civilian and go free, but if criminals kill two soldiers in a community the whole community would be burnt down.Soldiers should return to barrack where they are meant to be and not be roaming around like sheep. |
