The military left 24 solid years ago. What have the civilian crooks done for 24 yrs if not enriching themselves. We have never had a pro-people government in Nigeria. Just criminals that suddenly became rich through politics and government patronage.
But the military laid the foundation of this madness by giving us a flawed Constitution that took power from the federating unit and gave it to the center, making progress almost Imposible...now the center is not thinking of returning the power back to the people ...

Funny how how soldiers and police becomes henchman to deal with cases that are off the book.
And people here condemning them are same people that advice their acquaintance to go to soldiers to settle menial matters.
What have military personnel have to do with settling market matters.
Even people call policemen without making statement to go after who they don't like, like Yahoo boys hiring military to deal with pickers.
The Nigeria force have become so useless that even criminals can buy their service with 5-10k to become henchmen while wearing the uniform.
Nigerians are not suing the state na why this is becoming a norm, ingrain as part of our culture.
No one is seeing this cases as abnormal, no cultural shock nothing.
We have reach that period crime have been normalized.
Damn
It is caused by the failure of justice system .

Until we are able to change our mentality towards governance, government and appointments, we should not expect a better society. Nobody is concerned about the delivery of the dividends of democracy but everyone is just concerned about the personal benefits instead of the general wellbeing of the masses and the society at large.
You nailed it.

ogbonti:
yes, its 2 things that will happen when the military take over

(1) the cost of governance will be reduced - 20 Supreme Military Council Members as legislative arm -

COMPARED to 109 senators AND 435 House of Reps members collecting insane "TOKENS" and "PRAYERS" every given opportunity

so you can not compare 20 Military Legislooters to 544 Civilian Legislooters

(2) there will be security - the military government abhors insecurity, not because they they love the country more than other Nigerians '

but simply because it puts their own survival on shaky grounds - if INSECURITY is allowed, it can lead to another coup or counter coup

which ends the existing regime. More so, when insecurity thrives, they can mistake it for a coup attempt - to they do not tolerate it

..... and INSECURITY is the major reason why food prices are off the roof today, people can not go to farm due to herdsmen

so please give us the MILITARY - it is the lesser evil - afterall - kidnaping will ends with offenders being tried quickly at special military

tribunals and executed summarily so other would-be kidnappers will get the memo fast

IF Nigeria today has security and people can buy food easily - who cares whoever occupies ASO ROCK? na who chop belleful and sleep

well for night dey get power shout democracy oooooo - IF you know the hundreds of thousands of lives wasted under this democracy

in Nigeria hennnn - compared to the Military era- you will know say democracy for naija na scam !!!! angry angry angry angry
You go plan could naw and stop. ranting..

If coup did not make Nigeria better the first time, would it do the same next time?

Oga, join a party, or form one and be the change you want.
Even wnen Nigeria had a far better armed forces..these current ones are all politicians ..

For those who hope for military takeover in Nigeria, it's never going to happen. That's because the military has no reason to take over. We don't have sight-tight presidents; they always leave after 8 years.

The only problem we have is that our leaders are incompetent, and there's no guarantee that soldiers would do a better job if they take over.
They lack the capacity..

While I have a strong affinity for unity, I believe that the act of dividing our nation could potentially lead us towards progress. Nigeria's challenges, such as extensive tribalism, election zoning, favoritism, the quota system in governance, and the selection of ministers based on regional representation, appear to be hindering our advancement.
Division is the only pathway to progress..
