God literally gave Him a big knock on his head that brought him back to his right senses otherwise my friend would have been a yahoo-yahoo boy or much worse today.
It happened several years ago when his close friend who was into internet fraud was about to teach him how to do it inside a cyber-cafe.
It was during the days when blackberry phones were still trending, so at the time, his yahoo friend was able to acquire them through the proceeds of his fraudulent activities.
One was a blackberry torch which his friend showed him, and told him that it was through yahoo-yahoo that he got the money to get it. He told him he was going to teach him how to do it, and my friend was very interested.
So they had arranged the day and place where that would take place, which was a cyber cafe somewhere in Lagos. Everything appeared to be going according to plan as they had gone to the cafe as planned on that day, and his yahoo-yahoo friend had taken a seat in front of a computer while my friend had sat next to him.
But my friend said, as the yahoo guy was about to start teaching how to go about it, he had a knock on his head and shouted and held his head. His friend sat next to him heard him and saw him holding his head, but didn't know why exactly and what had happened to him.
But my friend didn't need any more knocks to bring him back to his right senses, as he immediately left the place and went back home. But even after he had reached his house, he was still feeling the painful effect of the knock.
That was the first and last time he ever attempted such a thing but his yahoo friend continued, and once his friend came to meet him and showed off some of the money he'd made as a result, but said he wouldn't give him any of it since he refused to follow him and learn.
But my friend told him off, that he should take his money and go, that he doesn't want!
So his yahoo-yahoo friend left and kept making money via the fraudulent trade, and was said to have built a house for his dad amongst other luxurious things he acquired as a result.
However not long afterwards the law caught up with him, as he was said to have been arrested by SARS officials and taken away.
My friend says that when the father of his yahoo-yahoo friend sees him, knowing that he was his son's friend, but had resisted the temptation of taking the same path his son took, he greets him respectfully as though he were his elder. He said that the man would be crying because of his son as he had turned into something else and brought much reproach to his family.
My friend may not have had the money or riches of his yahoo-yahoo friend, but he has something much more than that, which is his integrity intact.
He says that his yahoo-yahoo friend, is now a hemp addict and behaves as though he has mental issues.
He feels really sorry for him but perhaps that would have been him also, but for that timely knock from above.
Perhaps God ought to be giving more of such knocks, slaps, blows, etc., to those who are about fall into the devil's trap to bring them back to their right senses, as he did to my friend when he was about to make the biggest mistake of his life and become a yahoo-yahoo boy.
For that's how many get trapped for life. Once they take that first step and become involved is such, it becomes very difficult or impossible for them to come out of it and go back.
