GEJ administration had the perfect solution to the lingering Niger Delta issue. What did he do, absolutely nothing for 6 years. Only a selected few enjoyed from the amnesty programme.

Dr Reuben Abati was part & parcel of the previous government...what solution did he give towards the ND crisis.

The dullard of Daura never ceases to amaze me,

Instead of repairing Warri and Kaduna refineries, and increasing their capacities, so that the can refine more crude,

he is trying to build new ones.
better and wiser to build new ones that can
operate at full capacity than to continue
managing the old ones that can not run for at
least two months. With modern technology, the
new ones will last longer and perform better.
therefore, it's economically wise to build new
ones, make supply stable then overhaul the old
ones.

PoliticsRe: Senators Fight And Torn Apart Again ! Over Oil Blocks by telleyway: 5:12pm On May 20, 2016
well said able senator.I think this is one big step in solving Nigeria's problem. my question is: are the oil wells to be given to individuals or the geopolitical zones huh for instance, if four are given to SS, is everybody going to benefit from the proceeds, or is it only the business people that will still be selling 50 barrels and remitting 30 huh I think this bill should first check the excesses from these oil well owners, or are we saying lets spread the stealing across and forget about whatever that's happening huh How will this affect the general masses since they cannot operate the oil wells huh. This whole ideal is great but as it is now, I only see the rich fighting themselves. it will be more palatable if modalities are put in place to bring succor to the masses.

The executive is interfering too much in the affairs of the legislature. It's hi time the legislature responded with equal ferocity. I miss Chuba Okadigbo.
What then do you call check and balance in a presidential system of government, or is it only the legislature that has the power to to check the executive excesses.

Senator BMB is my senator of the year! He is always making common sense, trust me zombies will never agree.

If 60% of our senators were socially interactive and making common sense like BMB, our political fortune may have changed for the better.

Last Bullet: it is time PMB starts making common sense, as our collective good depends on it.
He should move that #commonsense on the floor and not on Twitter. if he really think he's making sense, how many bills he has sponsored? What are his contributions on the floor? Why always trying to sell cheap propaganda?
PoliticsDogara Invites Mininsters To A Debate by telleyway(op): 5:42pm On May 02, 2016
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Sunday asked four ministers to appear before lawmakers at the National Assembly for a series of debates on how to diversify Nigeria’s oil-based economy later this week.

Mr. Dogara said the initiative, themed: ‘sectoral debate,’ is part of the legislative agenda of the 8th National Assembly.

In a statement posted on his personal website, Mr. Dogara said the sectoral debates will focus on addressing issues of national importance, from communication to social welfare, and will feature ministers and lawmakers.

The ministers invited for the first instalment of the debates, which will hold during House plenary sessions, include Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed; Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh; Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun; and Minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi.

“The House of Representatives is billed to commence sectoral debate on aspects of the Nigerian economy on Tuesday, May 3rd 2016.

“The sectoral debate is consistent with the 8th Assembly’s Legislative Agenda and Standing Orders, and will address challenges facing different aspects of the Nigerian economy.

“The first Sectoral Debate shall cover “Diversification of the Nigerian Economy: Real Sector Development,” Mr. Dogara said.

Although Mr. Dogara said the modalities of the debates is still subject to House’s approval, he released proposed schedules for the event on his website. source:http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/202745-speaker-dogara-invites-ministers-debates-economic-diversification.html

PoliticsNenadi Usman Refunds N140m, Surrenders 2houses by telleyway(op): 6:11am On Apr 27, 2016
ABUJA—Embattled former Finance Minister, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, has returned N140 million out of the N2.5 billion she allegedly received from the office of the former National Security Adviser ahead of the 2015 Presidential elections.

In addition, the former Senator, who served as the Director of Finance for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Organisation, has surrendered two of her houses to the Federal Government as a condition for her release from the custody of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Esther Nenadi Usman
A top source in the commission, who confirmed the figures to Vanguard, hinted that the former Finance Minister might be released on bail on health grounds, given the amount of money and the property she has forfeited to the government in lieu of what she collected.

Although the source said the commission had obtained a court order to keep her beyond the stipulated time to interrogate her further, it was learned that an undisclosed health challenge facing her had compelled the operatives to consider granting her administrative bail to seek medical attention.

When asked if the former minister had been released, the source said: “She is still with us, but we are considering granting her bail, even though we have a subsisting court order to keep her.

“The former minister and lawmaker has agreed to surrender two of her choice property in Abuja, in addition to refunding N140 million to the Federal Government.”

According to findings, the former minister is being quizzed over various sums of money, which were paid into her account, including the N2.5 billion which was transferred out of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, into her account.

In addition, N140 million cash was allegedly paid into her Zenith Bank Account in January 2015.

Usman is alleged to have had access to what EFCC sources described as “huge cash,” some of which the agency says came from the CBN.
