We are using this same door for the toilet, each door cost 60k minus installation
It comes with
-Door leave
-Door key ( Turkish made)
-Fame
If you need cheap door don’t think of this

Pics of the door frame thickness

Well done on this project so far. Its been an interesting journey. Please can you share more pics of the doors you are using.

Good morning builders in the house. I have a new build and looking for a good home automation system installer. The house is a semidetached 4 bedroom duplex. Please reply with your contact details if you are reliable, know your onions and can deliver a good job. Note that conduit electrical cables have already been done on the house.

Makes sense. The septic tank is actually made from 'glass fiber reinforced plastic fiber and unsaturated polyester resin' according to the manufacturer. Anyway, even if we had a sewer system, I guess the actual cost of constructing biodigester systems in the conventional ways we do it here at the moment is not so high as to warrant importing ready made ones. If you get my drift.....

Dijita:

I am weary/skeptical of fiberglass plumbing materia. My shower pan that is made of fiberglass cracked after few years of usage.

Also be careful with the adoption of technology that will create problem. Nigeria doesn't have sewer system. You don't want stagnant water in your compound

Hello Builders,

I was just doing some checks online and noticed the Chinese are producing complete biodigester units using fibre glass septic tanks. Has anyone else come across these / used them before? See attached pictures. I find this very interesting and feel if done well / durable might be a good solution to molding blocks / precast for biodigesters.

Nice. Please can you share the make/brand of tiles you are using? Saw a post on the building and construction thread, where someone bought CDK for 9,800 per sqm yesterday. So if one were to tile a 2000 sqm space with that, over 20m will go on tiling! shocked

Good people please help me evaluate this quote for materials given by my Pop man for 387 sqm. I stand to be corrected but wonder if this guy is also trying to hammer on top my head for Christmas?

*POP MATERIAL SCHEDULE *

Pop cement (170bags) *6,000 = 1,020,000
Fillasse (150kg) *1,900 = 285,000
Binding Wire (2rolls) *13,000 = 26,000
Tornado oil (50packets) *700 = 35,000
Oil (15litres) *900 = 13,5000
Soap (5packets) *1000 = 5,000

*TOTAL == 1,384,500*

Good morning Builders,

Please I need your guidance on plastering. I am just about finishing the MEP of my project and will be proceeding to plastering. I would like to know the estimated materials and labour costs it would take to do the plastering. See below the floor plan. The wall height on each level is roughly 3.3 metres.

Sorry for this unsolicited response.

If you like frameless windows please pursue and don’t let price deter you. Continue your due diligence.

I’m having some pangs of regret for not doing Gerard (sp) roofing tiles. I know at some point Money121 will have to come and help me do his thing on my house.

Good luck on your project Sir.

PS: I don’t make or sell windows and don’t need to know how to make it o grin

Thanks bro. I need your help to evaluate this quote. What do you think of 75k for 1000x1900 frameless window with burglary and net. As an alternative, the window guy also quoted 69k for casement windows of the same size with burglary and net. I'm weighing my options and also wondering if these quotes are not too high?

Good people, please help me evaluate this quote for frameless transom windows. The rate per window looks really alarming! I am tempted to go for normal casement windows, just that the quote for that too is not very different from this.

Yes, it is very good. He just need to pay attention to the design of the roof gutter.

There are things we get wrong when constructing roof gutters.

Below are some good examples:

Pic 1: Using block instead of upstand Beam for the parapet wall can cause seepage which will eventually lead to leakage.

Pic 2: Having a very low upstand beam can also call seepage if the wall is not well protected.

Pic 3: Having a very low upstand beam at the end of the gutter can also cause failure when there’s heavy rainfall. The drain size also matters a lot.

Pic 4: Roof gutter poorly designed.

Thank you very much. Makes a lot of sense to me now

Our client specifically requested for a weathertight, maintenance-free flat roof solution.

In this regard we are considering a custom-built weatherproof fiberglass reinforced gutter design for our roof gutter.

Well done bro. I have a question - I'm also doing a similar build at about the same stage, but I didn't see a steel/fabricated gutter in my engineer's quote. It seems what he's doing is just a concrete gutter that will be firmly waterproofed. Is this good?

Oh that was nothing really... my build, my way. But is just the standard practice globally to test the strength of concrete.

Don’t take me too serious though!

Real Life Scenarios

In 2011, a young guy engaged a team of experienced concreters to pour his DPC. When they were done with the pour, the abokis (labourers) who worked on the project hail him shouting “Oga, 7 stories dey go!!! Cement dey dia grin

In similar situation, a young professional engineer engaged a laboratory on contract for testing the concrete on a major development for educational purposes.

As with all construction materials, the quality of concrete can vary depending on the mixing and placing processes (the formwork, compaction, quality of water and even the curing process) and the standard of site supervision and controls.

The concrete team in the first scenarios is made up of highly experienced concreters who knew exactly what to do when it comes to concreting.

However, the complexity of the project and its intended use led the young pro in scenario 2 to engage a quality control lab to carry out series of test to determine if the strength of the concrete poured satisfy structural design requirement.

The intended use of my ongoing build requires we follow the standard practice of testing the strength of concrete to determine if it satisfy the structural design requirement.

Nothing more. The final choice rest with the client.

Good morning.

Thanks. Quite enlightening.

Hello GAZZUZZ,

My 08 RX 350 AWD makes a slight whirring / buzzing sound somewhere underneath towards the rear of the vehicle when its moving from rest. But once its in motion the sound goes away. I have checked the axle and rear wheels and found nothing wrong. The axle oil was also recently topped up during general routine service and still full. The vehicle moves very well and the sound has no effect on it but I wonder what might be wrong or going wrong? Kindly assist before I fall into the hand of 'kazeem' wink
