A woman should be ready for marriage when she is ready and capable of handling the challenges that comes with marriage. She need not be out of school if the man is ready and willing though it is best to be through with school first. Interestingly, many women get carried away by societal pressure such as "my friends are getting married", "Age is not on my side", and all sort without examining themselves if truly they are psychologically and emotionally ready for the business of marriage. |
The reactions/comments here have been quite interesting. But frankly speaking, those pictures are demeaning. It is better to do the right thing and avoid any form of illegality. No doubt, it is good to live comfortably, but human dignity is also important |
A man is old enough to marry when he is capable of taking major decisions and be ready to face the consequences of his action and inaction without recourse to mama. He must also have prospect for emotional and financial stability. |
The poster's colleague is still in a fantasy land. In truth and for real, no man can be 100% responsible for the family bills. There is no way a woman will not contribute to the upkeep of the family except she is a 24/7 glorified housemaid (housewife) that does not deserve anyone's respect. Regardless of the fact that the man is the head of the family and sometime the breadwinner, a woman with understanding of God's purpose for her life and right exposure will ever support the man. If nothing, to ensure quality standard of living for the family. |
This is apt for some of us who are planning to go into business. |
If u don't trust your wife enough to enjoy free ride from her colleague, then go ahead and put her in pudah and keep her at home. That you stop her from riding with her colleague or you buy her a car (+ driver, I believe u know how difficult it is to drive in Lagos courtesy trafffic) does not stop anything if she would be unfaithful to her marriage. For your peace of mind and the good of your marriage, bury your suspicion, otherwise you will begin to conjure untoward 'things' where none exist. |
Bode George should be made to face the consequence of his action squarely. No excuse should be allowed - health or whatever |
This is very sad indeed. It is quite unfortunate the way some people trivialise issues here. That the girl chose to be "unfaithful", if at all that was the case, is not enough to warant death. What deeper things could explain the reason for loss of life, for goodness sake. What has religion got to do with it. It only takes an insane mind to take another like you cannot create. No one is created for the other, we all came to the world individually. There is no justification for this barbaric act. |
mygladness:Well said! Isn't it ridiculous that criminals, thieves are being admired. God save Nigeria and Nigerians. |
No! no! no! the guy is too slow for any meaningful development |
Na wa o! It is wrong for the Okoyes to have broken walls when the ownership of the house hasn't been transferred to them. And to even think that one of them went on a show to claim ownership of the property. Anyway, they need to demonstrate more maturity in their utterances and be more truthful. |
Thanks folks! mama-gee, any particular site for the online recipe? Cheers! |
Please I need someone to help me with the step by step guides to frying puff-puff - that tasty snack made from flour. (Not sure if the spelling is right though) I sincerely desire to make it for my guests in a few days from now. Will appreciate feedback. Thanks |
Shouldn't Soludo be sober and defer his ambition for now? Considering the mess being uncovered in the banking industry shortly after his tenure as the CBN governor. He kept assuring us of the clean state of health of the Nigerian banks, only to know that the contrary was the case. And the same Soludo wants to be the governor of his state despite the failure being exposed at the apex bank which is still ravaging the economy. Na waooooooooo. |
This is another signal for job loss. Why is this country so unfortunate with its leadership? |
This is very sad indeed! May the Lord comfort the bereaved. Another demonstration of the shame of a nation. |
It is so painful, and have always avoid discussing it. But my consolation is that, I had invested for the future, i hope it pays off eventually. The funny thing was that I was still sweet talk into investing when the market started picking up in the first quarter of this year. |
Please I also need the details. Kindly send to teminiola@gmail.com |
Adieu Gani. What a time to die? RIP |
Hello people! Please I need information on how I can maximise the opportunity of my planned vacation to Dubai as first time visitor. Again which airline offers the best service on this route? |
Congratulations! I pray that God grants others who are waiting to be employed the same favour as granted you. |
Learn to manage your emotion. You can control yourself by taking solace in the world of God and seeking counsel from genuine people (may be marriage counselor) who will help you get over this situation. Maintaining contact with this friend of yours is dangerous and you might end up losing all - both your marriage and your friend, who will not marry you anyway because the feeling is not mutual. |
A woman's financial responsibility in marriage is that of support. Providing support to the man and ensure that he does not find himself in a financial mess especially if a woman is in a position to do so. In Nigeria today, all hands must be on deck to maintain quality standard of living in a family. It is therefore important that women are as equally responsible financially in marriage as men. |
Please check yesterday and today's Punch newspaper, and I suspect others would have reported it as well. Yesterday reported the new board while today's edition reported the debtors list. |
One of the newly CBN appointed member of the Board of Director for Union Bank, is a debtor to Oceanic Bank as reported in the newspapers today. According to report on the list of debtors to Nigerian banks, Mr. Onajite Okoloko who was appointed as a member of the newly constituted board for Union Bank is indebted to Oceanic Bank to the tune of N23.8bn through his company, Mid-Western Oil and Gas. What is wrong with this country? |
Thanks nwa-uwa How best do you advise I reach Seun on this forum? I thought Michelin manages complaints generally on nairaland, but she should have at least respond to let me know the appropriate channel to lodge the complaint. |
Hello Moderator, wondering why there was no reply to my complaint above. Please I need to know. My topics/questions posted on business and travel sections respectively were deleted even before response from nairalanders. What is the problem. I believe Nairaland is a Nigeria forum for Nigerians, isn't it? |
Please I have a complaint. I joined nairaland in April and have posted two topics and contributed to others. But I notice that on each occasion, the topic gets deleted as soon as it is posted. Please why is this so? What went wrong? |
Wonderful people born in the month of January, the first among equal. Mine is January 4 and I relish my birthday so much. You cannot claim to know me and not know my birthday, so it is an offence not to hail me on that special day. |
I don't believe Nigerian Married Women discard their rings too early. Me think they prefer to show it off so that people know they are privileged to have been married. Considering the number of single ladies out there who are praying to be married, being married is a worthy achievement as a lady. I have been married for twelve years and I cant remember removing my ring at anytime, it is pure gold anyway so I don't remove it for do any house chore. A married woman may have course to discard her ring for any of the following reasons if the ring is not original - gold, diamond, silver, pearl if the marriage is an error - on both part if there is a tendency for infidelity Otherwise, marriage is honorable and the ring should be worn to celebrate the marital status |
