Brother, avoid parallel connections as much as you can. They always turn out to be not worth the trouble. The cost (In wiring, etc) of having a decent parallel connection to ensure each battery in the bank get equal amount of charge makes it not worth it. Also because you are dealing with very high amp getting breakers for the system is another hassle. Even when all said and done you manage to achieve a setup that ensures all the batteries get equal charge (not an easy fit) The internal chemistry of each bank would still make it so that each battery gets charged differently. The result is the bank would likely die before it's time.

Secondly the size of wiring you would require would be huge in other to avoid voltage loss. Lastly when a battery in the bank goes south, it would be hard to notice because the other batteries would cover for it. So if a battery goes bad and voltage drops to 10.5v no way of knowing this. (Unlike a series connection where the drop in voltage would force the bank nominal voltage down and can easily be spotted.

alternative:

As suggested, go for higher voltage. so instead of connecting 4 batteries in parallel for a 12 or 24v system. Go for a 48v system.

If you most use a 24v system and still require more power. Then your best bet are OPzV batteries. This batteries come in small voltage high Amp type. like 2v 500AH. they are available in Nigeria and are mostly used by telcos. 12 of them connected in series gives you a 24v 500AH system.

Please do not connect the negative of your panel to ground ooo.
Panels have a hole on the frame for grounding!.

Also do not connect the negative of your battery to ground ooo.
Grounding your inverter covers that.

Positive, negative and earthing terminals all have their separate work.

exactly, the Solar frame is the ground for all solar panel in d universe.
Anyone can confirm this by checking the frame on the back side of their panel,u will definitely see the ground logo there.

I have 2. One with pwm 50amp and another with 60amp mppt.
I have a total of 4.5kw panels of Mono 1.53kw, poly 1.04kw and thin films 2.0kw. Five inverters of one 5kw, two 2.4kw, one 1.4kva and one 800va (my backup ), all pure sine wave. Two 60amp 24v external chargers. Three mppt CCs that are alive and well- one 60amp and two 30amp minus the hybrids.

abandoned keee are always a busy person and I don't want to disturb at work, d hybrid setup is getting famous these days n it also save the stress of getting another cc, besides i like them because they give full details of all yr setup...... Is your hybrid inverter integrated with pwm or mppt controller?

I got it off/ through a friend as left over from a project. Contacted him recently for a friend on this forum. He claimed the panels he has now are not from the same manufacturer but a German company. Efficiency said to be better. Panels 140w @ 70 -75v range. He was not with the exact specifications where he was.Price is high 49k @ 350/watt. He claimed dollar wahala.
My system was thunderstruck a few weeks back and my EP solar 60amps MPPT cc was damaged . My measurements prior to the incident was encouraging. I generated 1.1kw by 10.31am despite the day being a bit cloudy. I am presently using an hybrid system which only calculates instantaneous yield and not total harvest. The performance seems OK but I don't have actual figures.

@BasedOnB If you want to know how many solar panels u need then i suggest you goto page one i adviced you to before tho.
The thread is basically diy stuff, you should be able to calculate the wattage of yr ba3, load, intended hours of running on inverter yr self... A 50 watt sp is too small to charge higher capacity ba3 it can barely put out 2.5amp(max power under full sunlight) on a 150amp battery...it will take too long to charge
U said the seller advice you to get a charge controller of course you need it, that is part of what i see n i advice you to start reading the thread from page one.....my previous comment was just an overview of the issues you have.

@BasedOnB abeg stop flooding the thread with yr issue, u need to get a better wattage solar panel.... 50watt sp is just peanut for inverter setup... Maybe you should try and start reading the thread from page one......a 50watt sp won't be 100% efficient self... U need to upgrade.

Please how do I connect the cables from the DC fan to UPS in such a way that the fan is on ONLY when the UPS is switched on?

u gonna av to ground d fan negative to common(ba3 neg) then locate a point that supply only when you switch on the ups then connect the fan positive to it. U can do this easily with a dmm.

Nigerian government always like TO BE statement for project, yet most Nigerian still does not understand how they rule us..... Arnergy solar company installed 24kva mini grid solar power in some rural areas of osun state in conjunction with BOI. that was an example, there was no noise it was done great and d whole government tinz of Nigeria like to hype alot of project yet they won't do it

try Epsom salt it works 100% most of the time.search youtube for how to go about it......... U need to learn to do research on your own dont relay on no one

if una battery dey okay b4, no try Epsom. Seriously, . U only use it on sulfated battery, it will never work on an open cell or internal shorted ba3s...... A ba3 dat reads below 12v after full charge is considered dead..dere iz alot of videos abt this Epsom thing on YouTube
