They are all beautiful courses. But employers would rather go for someone with a degree in Civil engineering than most of those courses. They are great when you have it at masters level.

principo: I don't know if the information im about to give is old,but all the same:
. 1.you only go to register for your ssn ,2weeks after you arrive.then,you will be told to expect it within 2weeks but you are most likely to receive it 4days after.if you go for the registration immediately you arrive,you will be asked to come back 2weeks time to do so.
2.you will receive your green card 45days after payment.that is why you are advised to pay before leaving.if you pay after arriving,you have to wait for that number of days before receiving it.
Information is from Maryland.i guess its the same all over.i might be wrong.

Amedino1: Visa expired ke, not all dos Homeland office understand d processing, u ll av to prove it to dem I.E ur visa only expired means u can't use it to travel frm naija to US, but u can still be using it to apply for any document coz dere is a place very tiny valid for One year.... Dis same case happen to my fwed in Minnesota, dey latter attend to him wen he show dem d One year tinz on da visa..... My Advice for u go back to dat ofis wen show dem dat or u mail Lagos embassy... Gud luck

172013april: Good day to you all,My case is quiet "unique" if I must say. I am a DV winner and i'm presently in the states and I came into the states 28th of September but on getting to the states,my medicals had expired because I had my interview around april this year and it was in my brown envelope which I couldn't open until the POE , after the immigration officers checked and verified all documents,I was admitted into the states and asked to go get another medical done by department of states ...which i did(with few delays due to the government shut down) , but on getting to department of state office to submit the medical result in order for them to send my green card , I was informed by the staffs that my visa had expired which obviously , it had but it had not expired when i got into the states.

Homeland security said they have to contact US embassy in Lagos so that they can issue another visa in order to use that and the medicals to facilitate the easy and faster issuance of the green card. I already have my social security number .

Now,my question is...would US embassy in Nigeria be able to issue another visa for my kind of issue? What will then be my faith in the state?
Since its not the visa that got expired before i got into the states.then the US embassy in Nigeria should issue me a new one? How long does it take to get a new one?
Or what would you guyssuggest?
The office of the department of state have tried calling and emailing US embassy in Nigeria but I guess they had closed for the day. Pls I need your expert advice on this issue because I am really really confused.

After some few clicks she smiled and told me congratulations and welcome to USA. By the way, the CO was an african american (beautiful lady!)...so I guess my mind was not in the questions being asked ... she then gave me 2 papers (1 for visa pick up, the other USCIS payment).

I forgot to inform you guys that my interview date was shifted. It was initially billed for October 31st, however, I received a call informing me of the new date of 13th Nov... I was a bit annoyed because I felt a mail should have been used to back up the call (for me that was standard going by my training). so i mailed them that same day...the response i got was stunning...I was told I could not reschedule a date after the date advised (13th) and if i missed the interview that would be all. waiting be dis, see me see wahala, na me beg u say make u shift am?...was so furious so I almost sent a stinker mail to them...but after persuasion from my friend and colleague, I dropped the idea...

The cab that took me there had no bright head light... was scared wen we got to 3rd mainland and the whole place was dark...this was arnd 4.45...@bukiemma I tink I have tried...need to get back to work!

Allybert: Congratulations for passing the written test. However, you will not receive any Driving/Learner Permit Card in the mail except you apply and pay a fee of $11.00 for it. The $25.00 fee you paid when you applied for the driver`s license is all you need to pay and you have until 90 days after the day you wrote the test to pass the Road Test. You have 3 attempts and you can only fail the road test 2 times. If you fail the 3rd time, you will have to apply again and start the process all over again. If you already know how to drive or have little knowledge, I will advise that you start practising parallel parking. Its a major aspect of the road test here in the USA. But if you do not know how to drive at all, then you need to apply for a Driving/Learner Permit asap so that you can be able to drive having a licensed driver of not less than 21 yrs old with at least 2 yrs of driving experience with you in the front seat anytime you are driving. You can go to any DMV office around you to practice the parallel parking during weekends only. Do not forget to study the Texas driver`s manual to know more about the rules. Very important! Hope this helps
