The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has dismissed a letter written to it by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the need to give the Commission a 21-day notice for its national convention slated for March 26.

Spokesman of the party’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC, Barr. Ismaila Ahmed disclosed this at a news conference Friday in Abuja.

Cross carpeting is frowned on. The law says you lose your seat if you do. But there is a clause that says except the party you are breaks into factions.

So the politicians and judiciary normally use this "technicality" to cross carpet and they claim the party broke into factions. Ideally If you cannot prove that there is a faction, then you lose your seat.

If I was to fix this law, I would go ahead to say that the new faction must be from the same party and the person crossing should be in the new faction and must be duly registered as a party. And crossing over to another party within the duration makes you forfeit the position to the original party.

You left out that Russia annexed Crimea. That because of that direct attack o. the sovereignty of Ukraine, Russia cannot be justified of wanting them not to join NATO.

I would have been supporting Russia if that did not happen. If USA was to attack or Annex Mexico or Canada in present day, those countries will be right to seek external military alliances to protect themselves. They will get support too.

We know that on paper Russia will take Kiev. Analysts have said that that's the easiest part of the battle. The hardest part will be occupying it.

1. I might be wrong, so which law empowers NDLEA officers to be armed? If If they go on armed missions, they should use the police. Seeing those untrained militants with guns shooting around like thugs calls to question their competence.

2. "Section 37 of the Constitution protects the privacy of citizens and their homes." NDLEA act does not supersede the constitution. This act is meant to give rights to NDLEA to search warehouses, planes, containers and other means drug barons use to import and distribute drugs. It is not meant to give them rights to barge into private homes to search for evidence.
