afrodoc2: I did not say one should not eat red meat but to eat in moderation. I have seen the mountains of meat some people eat in the name of enjoyment and after a while you can't find their neck.
Red meat is nutritious and a great source of protein, iron, Vit B, zinc but should still be taken in moderation in order to maximise the pros and minimise the cons. When you start takings heaps of it, especially the fatty bits, the cons will pile up. Those that feel insulted if every meal of theirs does not include 2 -4 big and fat pieces of meat, each as big as a dumbbell, those are the ones i am talking about. Well, if you ask me. The most important thing is that both the people that you can't find their neck and people that are skinny with tiny necks will both die in the end. |

afrodoc2: This result does not look bad; however, the whole picture and your cardiovascular risk is better assessed when the result is computed with your age, your BP, your diabetic status, your smoking history, your family history, your kidney function level.
Generally speaking, the most important figures in that result are the Total Cholesterol (4.5) and the HDL (1.3). You want the total cholesterol as low as possible (below 5 or if you have a family history below 4) and you want the HDL to be above 1. Check the results from last year for these 2 values and compare to this year's result and that will tell you how well you have done.
You have already made most of the changes needed. Cutting down on unhealthy fats from fried foods, using healthy oils to cook rather saturated and trans fats, fatty red meat, fast foods like burgers. Cutting down on alcohol, not smoking. Eating adequate fibre, legumes, nuts, avocadoes, salmon, vegetables. Exercising regularly. What will the red meat be replaced with? The red meat is it just cow meat or both goat meat, bush meat, and turkey etc? Doc, everybody will die one day. What is the need of not eating to satisfaction when I have the means. Do vegans, and athletes live forever? |

How does one follow that much nairaland threads dutifully daily and still end up being productive? To think u will still need to interact with people in ur immediate environment and workspace on top of that.
We need to ask him how e dey take manage 24 hours to do all that and still sleep inside. I frequent only three threads on this platform and I'm thinking of reducing it to one. I was surprised when I saw the number of threads he starts his daily routine with. This thread for example, sometimes when you come here you meet countless new pages, and you try to read everything, before you know it you have spent an hour or more. Imagine being in that situation in 10 threads. It'll surely affect your productivity. That's the reason I stopped using tiktok. I was getting too invested in it, and it even made me lose money on a signal I didn't close on time because I was on tiktok instead of watching the signal to take profit. I deleted it asap. |

popizaino: I am sure that one too would have been constructing one needless and useless flyover in his capital city, when they could just use the funds to major roads in the state. Some will start airport construction in non viable state with terrible roads all over.
State governors are the most useless set of people have ever seen especially those from SW. All the governors are equally useless. There's no Nigerian state that doesn't have roads like that benin-sapele road. There are death traps like that in all the 36 states. At some point you have to wonder if the black man is actually not meant to rule himself? Instead of fixing those roads, they'll be building glorified secondary schools and calling them airports and international conference centers, lmao. |

semid4lyfe: 20m? E small o. I recall VDM accused her of going behind his back to meet with the Dangote reps, and Phyna responded that the company insisted she must not come with him for their meeting. and thats the reason she no inform am. Perhaps her family would have gotten more if she no cut off VDM.
Still, I'm beginning to notice a pattern with VDM. People he's advocating and fighting for seem to cut him off at some point.
First, it was that Bolt driver the House of Rep member assaulted. That one went behind his back too, collected less than the compensation they were demanding, and even did apology video to the Rep member. ......and now Phyna too don pull same stunt. May be VDM's is difficult to work with and his compensation demands dey "unrealistic" They set the bar low. Maybe they were inpatient. With enough dragging, they could've easily gotten 100m from this case. That phyna girl is a waste of a celebrity. She's the worst bbn winner in history. She doesn't have any pull or influence. If this happened to Mercy Eke or Tacha's sister, trust me, dangote for know say water don pass garri. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel(m): 5:06pm On Oct 05, 2025 |
BlueRayDick: Let me explain to you what I think happened and how the 20m payment came to being paid to the family :
1. Companies like Dangote who have trucks and other vehicles on the road are exposed to liabilities that may arise from road accident involving their vehicles. Such companies insure their vehicle either comprehensively or at least against third party liabilities like damage to properties of third parties or death of third parties resulting from the accident they caused.
2. Now for insurances taken by the company, the amount the company can get from the insurance company to settle a victim for damage to the third party's property ( like cars, houses, fences, etc) are limited To certain amounts depending on the terms of the insurance policy . The limit may vary from 5m to 10m 15m, 20m, 40m etc.
3. For loss of live of a third party following such Accidents caused by their truck, the limit of compensation payable to the family of a victim following loss of life (like in the case of Phyna's sister) is unlimited but must be reasonable.
4. What point 3 above means is that if somebody dies in an accident caused by an injured truck like Phyna's late sister, the amount the insurance company will pay on behalf of the insured (Dangote group) is unlimited but must be reasonable. The family of the deceased can decide to claim 100m, 200m. 1bn, etc.
5. However, the insurer won't just pay them what they demanded but will subject their demand to test of reaonability. In doing that, the insurer will try to evaluate the deceased's educational qualification, what was her earning capability while alive? Was she working in a big place like NNPC, shell, etc where she earned millions monthly? Does she have a profession that earns her big money annually? Does she have dependants she provides for while alive who will suffer due to her sudden death? Is she the breadwinner of her family?
6. The answer to those questions will form the basis upon which the insurer will make their offer of financial compensation to the family of the deceased. Apparently, if Dangote truck kills a PhD holder who works as an engineer in an oil & gas company and also adjunct lecturer in University of Petroleum resources; the compensation Dangote's insurer will offer the man's family will be different from what they will offer a bus conductor who died in an accident involving a bus and Dangote truck.
7. Now when the offer is made, the family can protest but the insurer would most likely not budge. If Dangote group feels the issue may give them some serous reputational damage, they can accept the insurers offer and then proceed to add more money from the Company's purse to settle the victim's family especially if the family are threatening lawsuit.
8. Unfortunately in this phyna sister's case, we don't know if phyna and family had accepted the 20m, signed some serious binding legal documents that would mean they can't make further claims and she decided to come to social media to call the company out hoping she would get "justice".
9. In all, I hope she seeked legal opinion before taking all the steps she took because taking on a big organization like Dangote group that would be paying almost hundred of millions naira to retain the best lagal practitioners in the country no be play play.
PS: This post is not justify whether the 20m paid to the deceased's family was fair or not. It is just to explain what may have happened and how Phyna's fà milk y may not get beyond the 20m they had already gotten from Dangote (most likely pid by their insurers) Valid points. |

Some fans also recalled that Phyna had earlier revealed her family received ₦20 million in compensation from Dangote’s team following the accident that claimed Ruth’s life.
Is 20m not too small? Dangote should be held more accountable. they should've made sure he paid nothing less than 50m. Jusy yesterday, dangote truck killed five people in Keke napep |

Segedinho: The oba will likely chicken out due to his politically induced sense of judgement.
His utterances are disregarded by community chairmen let alone BuBu pikin.
I hope he does something about it to regain the power of his utterances..
Bini markets have ancestry history and should be upheld and oversee by the Oba himself...
This is the video on how they have been installed and the woman speaking has been the iyeki just b4 the nons3ns3 by Bubu pikin/Okpebholo
Forget the fact that she couldn’t even spell daughter correctly. All through Buhari’s 8 years of misrule, none of his children ever sent letters to kings about appointing anybody. Even going back to GEJ and OBJ, their kids never did anything like this. This is unprecedented. It’s absurd that she’s writing letters to leaders and claiming to be First Daughter of the President. I’ve studied the Nigerian constitution all my life, from secondary school to uni, there is no such office. She has no right or power to be appointing market leaders in Edo State or sending strongly worded letters to the Oba. I beg any sane person to read that letter she sent. That’s not normal. Only in Nigeria will electorates vote for someone, and automatically the spouse and children start acting elected too. They begin issuing orders to officials as if they were the ones on the ballot. I remember when the wife of the immediate former Kano governor shut down an entire airport just because she didn’t want someone else to travel before her. Have you ever heard of the UK Prime Minister’s wife or children giving orders to elected officials? In Nigeria, the President’s wife can order governors around, while governors’ wives dictate to commissioners. Total madness. |

Spy360: A primary that will be free and fair with no vote buying?
We saw what happened in 2022 Y'all Obi supporters need to be realistic. Unless what happened in Nepal is replicated in Nigeria, there's no way there won't be vote buying in a primary election. Even if there's no vote buying in the primary, you guys believe Tinubu won't buy votes in the general election? As it stands, the only way Peter Obi can become any party's flag bearer is if they dash him the ticket. His supporters are already making excuses for him because they know he cannot contest and win a primary election with his mates. If Peter Obi is really serious, he should fight these politicians with their own tools, then reform the system when he gets in. |
