TemporaryHansel: Low-key, some of you are too eager for war – like this is Call of Duty. Real human lives will be lost. Btw, the fallout won’t stop in the Middle East. Once Iran’s weapons cache starts leaking into the hands of non-state actors, the ripple effects will hit Africa hard. Terrorists will scoop them up just like they did after Libya collapsed. We’ve seen this movie before, and it doesn’t end well. @digzz see what I wrote about this issue yesterday. |

diggz: What I’m saying is that Nigerian government have been largely complacent—or perhaps it’s more accurate to say that several of our leaders are actively colluding with external interests.
Ideally, our focus should be on addressing the root causes of our own problems here at home, rather than justifying or celebrating the escalation of events abroad—especially when such tensions could potentially lead to a third world war. ... 💯 .. .. . |

DeathParade: Yep. I am completely Indian. Never been outside India. Until a few years ago, I didn't know much about Africa, other than the bad things that the foreign media tells us. Then I got interested into geopolitics and realized that Africa would be a great ally against the Western imperialism. Much better than China that wants to outright fight the West and establish its own empire like USA. India and Africa, we both only want to be left alone so that we can grow our economies, we don't want to see the Western world fall, just want to grow strong enough so that we can negotiate with the west from a position of strength.
So I started reading about Africa from African news media sites. Started from Zimbabwe, then Kenya until I landed up on Nigeria and finally Nairaland. Opened my eyes to the fact that we all are facing very similar issues as nations. Which imperialism? Indians are notoriously racist towards Black people. Europeans and Americans barely rate them, and in return they direct their disdain toward Africans –because they know they can’t afford to show that same hate to the West. But honestly, I don't even blame them. Almost every race looks down on Africans. And the sad truth? There’s only one way to flip that narrative: power and wealth. Until African nations get serious about development and dominance, we’ll keep being the global underdogs. Look at China 60 years ago – they were seen as bottom-tier $čüm, easily bullied. A hundred Chinese could be executed somewhere and no one would bat an eye. Fast forward to today, and only a few countries dare mess with Chinese citizens. Why? Because they backed their pride with power. Africa, wake up. Nobody’s coming to save us. Respect isn’t begged for – it’s earned. And as long as we keep playing small and clinging to victimhood and aid, the world will keep treating us like an afterthought |

Ibime: Israel planes are refuelling unchallenged in Iran skies and you are making noise that see the small damage their power reach
Who told you they are finished? They said they will be there up to 2 weeks. They are there for a strategic purpose, not for show for Twitter like Iran did after their guy in Syria was killed, and I'm sure they will use their time well to destroy Iran's military facilities and you will shift goalposts again LordAdam don lose guard. All these self-proclaimed war analysts need to put that Wike track on repeat – "if e no dey, e no dey." The lack of retaliation from Iran so far says it all – even they know water don pass garri. What really cracks me up is seeing Okpa and Sean now throwing subtle jabs at Iran and slowly backing away. So let me guess – if Russia ever gets clobbered or fumbles hard, they'll jump ship too? It’s becoming clear that many of these "Russia stans" never really stood for anything - they just got swept up in the power hype. Meanwhile, most people who support the U.S. often do so based on ideology or governance, not just brute force. But when it comes to Russia, China, or Iran, it’s always about the “perceived power.” That’s not loyalty – that’s gold-digging geopolitics. I won’t be taking any of them seriously ever again. |

A40: America can only implode from within and it has nothing to do with Trump.
Me I personally believe we are in the end time of some sort. How quickly it will end I can't say for sure.
If these protests don't tell you that country has been invaded then I don't know what will. Go and wave Mexico or Palestine flag in Red Square or Tianamen and see if dead body no go surplus. What's happening in America is not normal and not tied to Trump
The real problem is Netanyahu who is a professional warmonger. Israel and America are joined at the hip. Whether Kamala enter she will also have to back Israel, don't make it a Trump thing. Trump is not all powerful, American institutions have enough checks and balances to keep him in line Gloriousgbola is genuinely hilarious. Watching Nigerians criticize Trump’s immigration stance is top-tier comedy. Let’s be honest, no other country on this planet would stomach the kind of immigration chaos the U.S. has endured. This is coming from Nigerians who can barely coexist with neighboring tribes in the same Nigeria, yet suddenly become global human rights advocates when it’s America. Imagine Ghanaians, and other West Africans flooding into Nigeria illegally like Latin Americans do into the U.S. –Nigerians wouldn’t wait for immigration officials. They’d organize community eviction committees by lunchtime. Trump’s policies only look harsh if you drown them in emotions, hypocrisy, and a sprinkle of performative outrage. Strip all that away, and it’s just a country protecting its borders. |

If u think it's a lie, ask elder Not gonna lie, Nairaland still has no real alternative for me. I’ve got thousands of followers across FB, X, IG, and Snapchat, but nothing matches the quality of engagement I get on Nairaland. I only post photos on those other platforms, I don't engage in any form of discourse there. Sometimes I wonder if the folks on those other apps and the ones on Nairaland are even from the same country. The mindset gap is wild. I’m a serious-minded person, and Twitter/X is basically one big "cruise" cult, so yeah, I’ll always rate Nairaland higher than that circus. |

If one leaves nairaland and permanently relocate to Twitter, u won't know when u will be drawn into the negativity on naija Twitter. So much bickering and bad blood over there worse than what is even obtainable on nairaland. Nigerian Twitter is a sewer. A swirling pit of negativity, bitterness, and trauma bonding. Most users there aren’t just online, they’re emotionally damaged. Pair it with Black American Twitter and you’ve got the perfect cocktail of dysfunction. Two digital neighborhoods where healing goes to die and toxicity gets a standing ovation. |
