18-year-old French striker, Kylian Mbappe has scored in his first match for new side, Paris Saint Germain against Metz in the French league.

The player who moved from Monaco opened his scoring account courtsey of a fine finish.

Mbappe attempted to thread the ball over the top for Neymar but the ball was played out by a Metz defender but was met with a fine strike by Mbappe outside the box.

Minister of women affairs, Aisha Alhassan, has slammed those calling for her sack, saying her boss, President Muhhamadu Buhari is "not a mad man" like them.

Aisha also reiterated that she will support Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, if he decides to run for office in 2019.

A video had surfaced online which went viral on Wednesday where the minister declared support for the former vice-president.

Her action sparked condemnation, particularly among supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nigerians are reacting with shock to a video that is currently trending online that shows Aisha Alhasssan, a minister under President Buhari, campaigning for Atiku Abubakar's presidential election.

The video is believed to have been recorded when the minister popularly called Mama Taraba, paid a visit to Atiku Abubakar during the sallah break.

Alhassan, who spoke in Hausa, referred to Atiku, a former vice president of Nigeria, as our "father" and assured him of her support for his presidential ambition in 2019.

There is a video fast making the rounds on social media that suggests that all might not be well between Amaju Pinnick and senior members of the Super Eagles.

The video showed the Super Eagles arriving for the second leg of the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifier between Nigeria and Cameroon in Yaoundé.

Pinnick, the president of the Nigerian football federation, lined up among other dignitaries to welcome the Eagles to Cameroon.

Children of Pastors in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lagos zone are organizing a free medical checkup for Lagos residents.

The group known as the Pastors Seed Family (PSF) under RCCG region 2 in Lagos would be conducting the medical checkup at 4, Olatunbosun street, Mafoluku, Oshodi area of Lagos.

Boko Haram has taunted the Nigeria army, saying it is celebrating Sallah in Sambisa forest after the 40-day ultimatum issued for the capturing of its leader, Abubakar Shekau.

In July, Chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai, had given a 40-day ultimatum to his men to either capture or kill Shekau. But the deadline passed without any success.

But Shuaibu Moni, one of the commanders of the sect who was swapped with 82 Chibok girls in May, appeared in a video taunting the military and issuing threats to Nigerian authorities.

“We have observed the eid-el-Kabir prayers peacefully with our brothers, wives and children in Sambisa forest under the leadership of Abu-Muhammad -Ibn-Mahammad Abubakar Shekau,” he said.

“We thank Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to witness this very wonderful day and good state of health. President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he is making good progress in London, United Kingdom where he is currently receiving medical attention.

He has also expressed his readiness to resume work once his doctors give him the go ahead.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a world record fee in principle with Monaco for the signing of French forward Kylian Mbappe.

Having recently sold Alvaro Morata and Danilo, and having loaned out James Rodriguez, Real have freed up the necessary funds to move for the teenage sensation. The La Liga and Champions League winners are rumoured to be paying £143.5 million up front plus £17.5 million in add-ons for Mbappe.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the 18-year-old Mbappe will sign for six seasons, earning €7 million (£6.2 million) net which translates to £241,000-a-week for a teenager.

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has given his sister-in-law $60,000 (£46,000) as a birthday gift, the state-owned Herald newspaper reports.

It says that the gift was to thank Junior Gumbochuma, who is the first lady's eldest sister, for helping to look after Mr Mugabe's children.

Mrs Gumbochuma is a pastor and the Herald reports that the president used the opportunity of her birthday celebrations to criticise Pentecostal preachers who make money from their congregants by stage-managing miracles.
