Chelsea wingback, Victor Moses starts the match in a forward position and is supported by Arsenal's Alex iwobi and former Watford striker, Odion Ighalo.

New goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho gets the chance to impress yet again as he continues in goal for the African giant while the duo of Shehu Abdullahi and Bryan Idowu are the two full backs.

Leicester city's Wilfred Ndidi has not recovered in time for the for the friendly and is replaced by Torino's Joel Obi.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane has been chosen to lead the line against Nigeria and will be flanked by Raheem Sterling and Jese Lingard.

England coach, Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard is likely to get the nod to start against Nigeria in an international friendly on Saturday evening.

, who are in a group with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.

Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West Senatorial district has alleged that the Nigerian police tried to kill him on two occasions.

Melaye made this revelation on Wednesday after resuming sitting for the first time since his case with the police.

He thanked God and the members of the legislative chambers for their prayers and support.

Speaking on the floor of the Senate, the Kogi lawmaker accused the police of trying to take his life by using some form of chemical substance and injection.

England have stepped up preparations for the world cup and would take the first step towards the football showpiece event when they face Nigeria on Saturday in an international friendly.

Both countries, who would be in Russia in June, would square up at the Wembley stadium as they prepare for their world cup campaign.

The Three Lions' strikers have been practicing their shooting ahead of the Nigeria friendly and continued this on Wednesday.

Nigeria defender and star of the CHAN team, Stephen Eze has been dropped from the list of players that would be representing Nigeria at the FIFA world cup in Russia.

President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, would today host members of the national team, Super Eagles, before they jet out for the 2018 world cup.

The players were meant to meet with the President yesterday, May 29th which was also democracy day in Nigeria but the meeting was postponed.

Popular British boxer, Anthony Joshua says he is faced with the tough choice of who to support when England host Nigeria in an international friendly in June.

Joshua, though born in the UK, has Nigerian roots as his parents are Nigerians with his father hailing from Ogun state in Nigeria.

The boxer has gone on to represent Britain in boxing events and has identified himself as British though he has two Nigerian names: Oluwafemi and Olaseni.

The boxer, in a recent interview, was asked when he would return to Wembley stadium and he disclosed that he would be present when Nigeria take on England on June 2nd.

Kelechi Nwakali scored a superb goal in the first half of Nigeria's friendly against Atletico at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo.

Nwakali scored the goal in the 30th minute to give Nigeria the lead against the Spanish opponents.

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Nigeria international defender Leon Balogun.
The 29-year-old centre-back joins on a free transfer after leaving Bundesliga side FSV Mainz 05, and has signed a two-year deal with the club.

Albion manager Chris Hughton said, “I am delighted to welcome Leon to the club. He will add more depth to our defensive options, and I am pleased to get our first piece of business done so early in the summer.

Nigeria international, Victor Moses got back to his brilliant form of last season as he helped Chelsea to a crucial 2-1 win over Burnley at the Turf Moor on Wednesday night.

Moses was restored to the starting line-up after the Blues defeated Southampton in their last match and he repaid his coach's faith in him.

Moses was crucial to Chelsea's first goal of the game in the 20th minute.

More details have emerged as to what really happened on the floor of the Nigeria Senate this morning after the Senate was invaded and the mace stolen.

Former military president of Nigeria, Ibrahim Babangida, popularly referred to as IBB, has said that people have refused to hear his own side of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election saga.

General Babangida was widely criticized by Nigerians for annulling the June 12, 1993 Presidential election adjudged as the most credible election in the history of Nigeria.

Babangida swas speaking on a programme on Channels Television titled, ‘Roadmap 2019’ on Monday.

The former military leader noted that he does not get the credit for conducting the 'freest election in Nigeria"

When asked to explain further if it was true that people dismissed his words because of the annulment of June 12 election, he said,

“That is right. They say, ‘he cancelled the freest election in the history but he annulled it’ but nobody gives me credit for conducting the freest election in the country.”

The former maximum ruler said he was hopeful that the younger generation would understand why he annulled the election.

He added, “We try to rationalise why we did what we did but nobody is prepared to listen to us. So, it is a matter of time. One day, the younger generation will say they have heard one side and want to hear the other side of the story.

“Maybe by then we will have a better society that is prepared; that is well-informed of what happened within a period of their existence. They will then be able to say this is the true story.”
