You are so right. A lady updated her interview waiver here for giving birth again in the u.s about 3 weeeks ago. She was visibly pregnant and she went with her former hospital reciept and the new one she wants to use and she was given a second medical visa.
Let me state again here that a lady was refused visa 2weeks ago, simply because she lied. She used her tourist visa to birth without informing the embassy and she was actually pregnant when she got the visa. Another lady was warned seriously not to birth any child with her tourist visa.
I would advice you go through the right channel by applying for a B2 medical visa,I remembered I said a man was landed Life ban simply because he lied about his date of birth and another young lady that changed her date of birth with proper explanation was given visa.
Let always let to do the right thing, what if they issue the visa and at the port of entry, the person is returned because they saw that it's a tourist visa.

justwise:
That update was 2yrs ago during Trump administration, B-1/B-2 visa holder can still give birth in US if you are able to convince the VO why you should be issued a visa.

You don't have to hid your tummy or lie during the interview because if you do you still get caught at the long run.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by temyb: 10:50pm On Mar 26, 2022
Noooooo, this is so.wrong. please go through the right way o. Your wife should apply for medical visa, still B1/B2. Get a good hospital and their quotation,if u can pay abit before appointment or if not make sure u have more than enough in your account when you are going for appointment. But meanwhile make sure u get an appointment date, which is the first thing to do.
Or better still please read through and see how its done properly. I went for a follow up interview and a lady was denied visa renewal simply because she used her visiting visa for birthing purpose.
Niveakreamy89:
Your
1st step is to pay for appointment and start looking for interview date. Because now there is no birthing visa so her tummy must not show when she is going for her interview. So I suggest the earlier the better.the only time she can go with big tummy which is still 50/50 is when she wants to claim complications (Godforbid ooo) and you will back it up with doctors appointment both Nigeria and American doctor that has accepted to take her with her condition. And then pray for high Favour.

Well there can be difference,it depends on the consular. The consular actually asked the lady if she wanted to birth there, she said No that she just went for baby shopping July and she was to come back August but she gave birth September. She later said she stayed cos she has been having miscarriages and all. Her stories were not adding up as the consular kept asking her why didn't she come back when she finished shopping instead of waiting till her water broke and she was trying to justify that it was emergency and all. Already she had mixed up stories and the consular wasn't having it. That is why I said be truthful and I think that was her first visa.
Even a lady was issued visa and the consular warned her that she shouldn't use it to birth quoting the last trump travel ban and told her that if she needed to use it to birth, she should inform the embassy.
You can take your delta ticket with you just incase you want to clarify that. Its not so bad though as long as you are been truthful and these people are psychologist ooo. They know who is lying and who wants to japa.

MaryAndrews:
Wow. Thank you so much for this detailed write up. Very enlightening.

Please just to clarify, the lady who gave birth on a tourist visa, what lie did she tell?
Also, based on the dynamics you saw on Friday, is there any hope for someone who didn't send a letter to the embassy before travelling on a tourist visa to give birth? I didn't know I needed to send a letter. I was truthful about everything though. I got the tourist visa for a visit one year before I even found out I was pregnant. I didn't go on that visiting trip because of the covid shutdown in March 2020. In fact, it is that same Delta airlines ticket I requested changes to when I eventually travelled. I declared my intention to give birth in the US to the immigration officer at my POE and he asked how much my medical bills estimate was and how much I had prepared. I answered truthfully too. I also did IW and got a 221G.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by temyb: 4:26pm On Mar 12, 2022
Hello everyone. This is going to be a long post
So I did drop box towards the end of February. First visa 2016 was child birth and have had 2 other visa (not drop box though),but I didn't use the last visa cos of covid as I was part of the last set that was approved visa towards the beginning of covid before they shut down in 2020.
My passport was returned this Wednesday with 221G,I honestly expected it though cos am sure they would think maybe am probably pregnant again. I was told to pick a date within 2 days and luckily I got Friday as interview date. I must say the queue for 221G is a very long one o and some were called cos they had to thump print again. Fast forward inside the embassy.
Hmmmmm,I saw and heard all sort of stories. Please note the even with 221G,you can be refused o. The most important thing is be truthful as in TRUTHFUL. Am going to give some examples I saw myself.
A man was landed Life ban by the embassy, this man is a top government official, that came from the east cos he had a file of the state and it was his escort that even queued for him before he went inside. His offence was that he submitted 4 different passport with different date of birth and he had visas before, the consular that interviewed him was asking him calmly at first to say the truth but he was furious and was like it was the immigration and all sort. Am sure the consular has stayed long in Nigeria cos have seen him there all the time I went for interview. The consular laughed at him, stood up and brought a white paper. In my mind,I was like maybe he has approved visa but he gave the man Life Ban and fined some dollars for false document and the consular said he must pay. At that stage, the man became calm and cold, all his aggression disappeared o. He was begging and said that he that punishment is rather harsh and unfair but the consular has had enough of him.
Another similar story yesterday was a lady that changed her date of birth, the consular asked her what happened and she explained that it was a issue between her separated parents and it has just been cleared. So she had to put the real date of birth. The consular approved her visa.
Even elderly women that over stayed during covid for 11 and 14 months, their visa was approved cos they were truthful
A lady was denied simply because she used her tourist visa to give birth without informing the embassy and she lied. The consular wasn't convinced and even asked her that did she ever write a letter to the embassy to notify them that she wants to use the visa to birth. She said No despite her tendering her hospital receipt and all.
Infact I learnt alot yesterday.
Blue papers were flying left and right. Same with white paper. Some were even still put on administrative processing that they would send questionnaires to them and that doesn't mean their visa can't be denied and it doesn't mean it can be approved.
For me the consular just asked when last I went to the u.s and I told her 2yrs ago. That I didn't use my last visa cos of covid. She asked about my job,my salary. Me that thought it was birth reciept, she didn't even asked me. She said when did I birth and I should tell her about other countries have been to, if it was work related and I told her majority are work related. That was all and she told me to pick up in 3 days. That was all.
Please be truthful and remember to write a letter letter the embassy if your visa isn't for birth purpose.

Hi everyone
Just a follow up on drop box. It's not so bad as some people think it is. Infact if your appoint is 8am and u get there 7:30,u would have submitted by 7:40am and woild be on your way out. And it's very very organised, thank God the u.s embassy did that on their own cos if it was DHL or it was outsourced,it would be very very crowdy
Just 4 things needed, your passport containing your old visa, not less than 2yrs expired or 3 months to expiry, your confirmation page that has your appointment date and time, your DS 160,your bank receipt of payment and finally 1 recent passport photograph (U.S visa standard).
Heard that it's not 2month per say, that some are already getting their passport with visa back. You dont need any document to support. The crowd for drop box is way more than normal interview o.
As at 7:30am yesterday there was no queue for normal interview,it was so free that only 6 people came and walk inside in 3mins and u can actually submit for 1 person.
Goodluck to all the drop box renewal

Am sure u read what I wrote well. I said if you have alternative of people around. Morover,do you think they are bringing them back for free. Everybody is paying for their flight back. If you have people or family around in the u.s but if you don't have then come home.

KaptainAfrika:
To All Mothers who want to return to Nigeria.
You have a choice, between being in a country where you have no relatives and nothing to fall back on, and being back home in Nigeria, where you have people that can take care of you and your baby and who you are familiar with. You know your country and how it operates, you have survived this long, you will survive, don't listen to these naysayers. The US Government is not legally responsible for you, if you are not a citizen or a green card holder. Won't you rather be with family to take care of you and your newborn child, ignore the naysayers - they are the ones that will still complain that Nigeria is not doing anything to bring back willing Nigerians from other countries.

Please for people coming back with this Nigeria flight or people coming back through F.G,if you are not ready for the stress back home don't try it. The people they brought back from dubai are already protesting that they are not treating them well. They are quarantine somewhere in a hotel in Lagos and are not treated well.according to them even with food. If they are not doing the covid test in the u.s before evacuation I suggest that people that have babies should have a rethink atleast for the babies.
I know another thing is accommodation over there but of you have an alternative please stay ooo. Our government here are very wonderful

If you have new borns I would advice not to try this evacuation thing. You don't know who and who you are going to be in the plane with and more over u would be quarantined here for 2 weeks extra. Please think carefully and don't risk anything espcially for the babies. Wishing you all the best

Hi
I would advice if it's an ivf baby to leave before 36 weeks to avoid stories that touches the heart.
Most ivf babies are delivered via c.s cos they are termed "special babies". And this is to avoid any complications during delivery.

Anubaby:
Good evening,
I’ll like to know if it makes sense to travel at 36weeks and deliver at 37weeks?
Do pregnancies from IVF have to be delivered via CS?
Thank you.

One advice for people renewing visa for birth. If you are still going for child birth and your U.S hasn't expired yet. It would do you alot of good to apply for Canada before it's expires,u have a better chance than for it to expire before applying to the Canadian embassy. Just in case the U.S denies, your Canadian visa would be useful

I just came back from the u.s with my twins and I used a double stroller from Nigeria to Washington
It was free although I used emirate airline. I initially thought it was going to be part of my luggages from Nigeria but the airline said since they are kids it's free and they are over 2years.
Just park essentials like diaper and wipes if the toddler is still using. Favourite biscuit, food. I took golden more from here for them. Change of cloth if u have a stop over, our stop over was just 2 and a half hours in dubai and they have a bathroom. So it was easier for me to quickly bath them before boarding Dubai to Washington,I repeated the same on our way back to Nigeria . Sweater for the cold inside the plane, water bottle and anything for their comfort but not too much hand luggage.
quote author=Eilenora post=70645272]Hello All.

Pls can u advise on the best seat to pick on d plane when travelling out with a 4 year old toddler?

Also essentials to pack for hand luggage both for preggy and toddler.

Finally, I was told that I could nli pack either a car seat or stroller for the toddler and not both as they both count as part of d 2 luggages she is entitled to. Thot stroller was usually packed for free to be colected at the entrance of d plane? They said thats for an infant not toddler. Which is more important to take btwn both of them? I hear some cabs wont allow u in their car without car seat for a toddler.[/quote]

A beautiful morning to you all. Wow! It's been ages since I made any comment. I need to ask a very important question, please help me out.
I gave birth 4years ago in Texas, through the help of wonderful people in this great group, but since then I've not gone back to the U.S. My son's Passport is expiring next year, what do I do? When is the best time to go and renew his Passport? Is there any other thing I need to do? Will not going there all these years affect my son or me? Plus my Visa got expired, how do i renew through Dropbox without going for an interview?(N/B: I'm still eligible for dropbox)
Your answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Let her stick to the one she has always use to travel. They have it in their system,my mom almost had the same problem and it almost caused a problem for her. After they had issued her visa, they sent her a message that she need to come for follow up and it was just the age that was the problem. She clarified it by saying she didn't fill the form herself but me and the V.o said No problem that they just needed to clarify her age on their system. She was issued after 3days.
Let her stick to the one in her passport and if they ask her question concerning it let her answer that the error was from you. Not a big deal

You do know that such charity aid isn't meant for visitors who come to the US to seek medical care. Most if not all visitors who applied for medical visa to the US was granted the visa after convincing the visa officers that she/he will be able to afford and pay for any medical charges occurred once they got to the US...even unforeseen charges.

Most charity aid was meant for some US residence who live in the US but some how either their medical insurance could not pay for some of those outstanding bills they might have occurred.

Also most of those charity aid organizations get some kind of tax relief purposes from IRS and they have to tell and show IRS what the charity aid they paid was for and to whom.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by temyb: 2:32pm On Jan 24, 2018
Charity aid or not medic aid. There are a lot of charity organisations in the u.s like ford, churches, rich individuals etc that go to hospital to help pay hospital bills for people who can't afford. It's not like the normal hospital bills, these are bills that are way very high for people and most times bills that can't be discounted too much. Medic aid is from the government purse.
The hospital would even issue zero balance account and most times these charity organisations don't like to be known,It's like there own contribution or should I say social responsibility to the community. You can't even just work up to the social worker and ask for it. Most times the very nice ones would go extra miles for you on it while others would just mention it casually. But I tell you it only happens when it's an emergency or something unexpected happens and you have paid your own bills.
It's fine when you give birth and everything is perfect, there nothing as sweet as that. The moment something goes wrong,my dear you are on your own. Have you ever heard of post partum depression becos of high bills or hbp. Its better to save your sanity for your baby. It far better than medic aid and the difference is clear.
oluwafunkenny:
@ temyb, l beg to disagree to your decision of obtaining charity organisations aid. AID is AID whatever in it's form. This will be in her record that she couldn't pay her bill and as a result requested for assistance. The bill is very high fine but using aid to clear it might be more dangerous. My view anyway...... Gurus can shed more light.
