Long post alert!!! It could only have been God, it has ended in praise. My journey started 2019 July during my NYSC. I was still a novice about Visa applications then and my focus was on going to a top rated school. I applied to McMaster, Memorial and McGill. I don't know why I thought I would be able to afford them without funding(lol). Got admission to McGill in February 2020 but the tuition was almost 30k with zero funding and I wasn't selected for the scholarship I applied for in November 2019.
I deferred the admission with the hope of reapplying for the scholarship the next year while still applying to other schools. I still wanted a high ranking uni but this time I was more strategic and looked for for schools with good ranking but relatively affordable fees. I applied to both UBC and UAlberta and only got UAlberta admission. I also reapplied for the MasterCard scholarship for McGill since I had a deferred admission, this time I was nominated and was so happy. I went through the rigorous scholarship application process and submitted Jan 2021 only to get a rejection from the scholarship in April, I won't lie it broke me and I almost gave up but we moooooove. Thankfully I had my University of Alberta admission so I started my Visa application and eventually submitted in May.
My timeline is as follows: [ ] Upfront medicals: May 13th [ ] Applied : May 14th ( I didn't include my medicals slip because I wanted to submit it with my IELTS result, lol but they updated it to pass before the physical IELTS result came out). [ ] Medicals updated to pass: May 21 [ ] Biometrics: May 24, updated same day [ ] IELTS: May 17th (I did CBT so my result came out online in 2 days) - LRSW; 8.5/9/7.5/8.0 band score: 8.5. [ ] Eligibility review: Sept 7, 2021. [ ] BVL and PPR: Sept 7, 2021. Program: MPH, Occupational and Environmental health School: University of alberta Duration: 2 years course.
Please note I did not get NSE request but sent the IELTS via webform. Also, I used a stanbic mutual funds account so I was unable to get an MBS so I just used a regular bank statement and confirmation of investment letter. The funds available were not so much so I was scared it might affect my application but God thank God for grace.
After submission, I realized that some things I submitted in the financial part were really blurry, so I sent them again via webform and emails. Also, registration for tuition opened late May but I only paid for fall semester and sent the tuition receipt via webform and emails.
I also got a notarized confirmation of name affidavit because the name on my international passport was shortened to Teniola as opposed to all my others documents that beared Oluwateniola. I sent it with a mini LOE explaining that both are the same thing, I sent both via webform and emails.
Special shoutout to Lekiboeboe, he helped to review my SOP and adjust it without charging me a dime. I initially wanted to use an agent but that one charged 1m, me wey no get money, I ran away, lol. Also, shoutout to Frank, when I sent him a mail about my SOP he was willing to help as well but it was short notice and I really wanted to meet up with the May 15th deadline then. But he still helped me look through and encouraged me that my application had prospects.
I used table of contents for both client information and Proof of funds part. My POF part also had like a mini LOE because I wanted to explain all the transactions and any lump sum very well. I have attached pictures of both below to show the documents I submitted.
I wouldn't lie there were times when I felt discouraged and my faith was shaky, but I always encouraged myself with God's word and followed NLP morning prayers diligently to boost my faith. My NLP people I have Received it o and the Wait is over!!!! Surely what God cannot do doesn't exist! It has ended in praise for me and it will end in praise for all PPR hopefuls on the TL!

Thank you so much for your response and yes I already mentioned him and the marriage pre-approval. I also included pictures of the both of us. It will end in praise. kife: Education isn't a formal requirement for an openwork permit.
Being that you already filed single- make sure you supply proof beyond reasonable doubt that you guys are truly married.
Document him as an entrepreneur and furnish proof of business and ties to home country Nigeria.
In my experience, the most important element of this application is:
1. Establishing the proof that you have sufficient home ties to compel you to return back home at the expiration of your permit.
2. For people married post-approval, proof beyond reasonable doubt that this is a legitimate marriage- if you stated married pre-approval, this is easier.
3. Sufficient economic and financial resources must be demonstrated clear enough that an officer has no doubts.
4. For those applying under case C41 (spouse of foriegn worker) please ensure that your job letter is well detailed to clearly express that you meet the eligibility requirements of NOC 0,A or B.
For Case C40 (spouse of international students) you must clearly establish in a letter of explanation that the presence of your partner is integral to your success as an international student.
5.Take time to arrange your documents in as much details as possible as some of these officers don't fully understand the impact of separation on marriages.
6. Please pray, pray and pray
Goodluck to everyone. |

Hello everyone good evening. I am from the student thread, although my PPR hasn't been approved yet I'd like to make enquiries about SOWP so I can know how to go about it once my study permit is approved.
I am currently engaged and applied single but plan to do my court wedding before I travel so I can apply for SOWP for my fiance once I get to Canada.
However, I would like to enquire if it's possible to apply for SOWP for him without an undergraduate. He currently has only WAEC certificate and although he's presently a student of NOUN he is not done yet and so therefore no degree certificate. He once started OND in Yabatech but never completed it so presently his highest educational qualification is WAEC.
Although he's an entrepreneur with a business, good pof and account statement I'd like to know if it's possible to apply for SOWP without an actual undergraduate degree.
Or is it advisable to wait until after he is done with school in NOUN and use the degree certificate to apply.
I tried reading through previous pages but I did not see any list for documents required for SOWP.
I would really appreciate your input and advice on this and it is a dilemma that has been on my mind. Thank you. |

So sorry about this, delay is not denial, sending you cyber hugs! JayEjabz: Got a refusal yesterday based on personal assets and financial status. Such a sad and discouraging feeling after waiting for so long since April. Like why not make a decision on time so someone can reapply again before September. |

Congratulations! Canada will favour you zaunty: Oh Lord, my God When I, in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder Thy power throughout the universe displayed Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Good evening everyone! I made a promise to my Jehovah that when he approves my Canada Study Permit Application, I'll sing this song and testify of His glory.
My story is long but I'll see if I can summarize it. Please note that I've been peeping into this forum for close to 2 years now but this is my first time posting. God Almighty had used this forum to bless and comfort me. That's why I want to post my testimony for people to know that God is able to grant them PPR. Receive your testimony and comfort too. God bless everyone who has been contributing to the success of this platform, including the lady that dropped a powerful prayer one night for ppr hopefuls.
When I needed comfort, I always prayed to God and also visited nairaland forum regularly.
Now this is my story: I'm 41 years hold and a University Lecturer with PhD. Sometime ago, I made a decision to move to Canada through the study route. I applied for diploma and was granted admission. I later applied for Study Permit in March, 2020 but was refused in May, 2020. Now, I see that God Almighty didn't want me to travel to Canada with PhD to do diploma because He has better plans for me. I was depressed and almost lost hope. But that's not who I am. Giving up is never in my DNA. So by God's grace, I drew strength from JESUS Christ and decided to re-strategize. So by God's grace, in 2020 August, I decided to ignore the fear about stress and rejections from searching for PhD Supervisors. So I started sending emails to professors requesting them to be my Supervisor. Just one night retrial, I woke up to see an email from a Professor who scheduled a meeting with me to assess me to know if he'll agree to be my Supervisor. To cut the story short, I was accepted, admitted into the University with full scholarship, including a Teaching Assistantship position. Oh, hallelujah!
Now, the story about my study permit application. Still bearing the anger of the rejection of last year in my mind, I reluctantly applied for study permit. I tried downloading the PDF of the application documents but without success, so I angrily edited the former forms in my computer that I filled last year and submitted to IRCC on the 18th of March, 2021. Got NSE request on the 14th of April. This put me in a good spirit, so despite all odds, I travelled to write the IELTS exam and by God's grace, I passed and sent it to IRCC on 11th of May. Submission acknowledged on the 12th of May. No information from IRCC till 17th of June when I received medical request. Medical Examination done on 7th of July. Passed on 14th of July. Correspondence Letter on 9th of August and PPR today, 10th of August.
Note that till now, my eligibility and background check aren't completed and my profile is still showing "we are processing your application".
My Jehovah is great and able. I almost developed high blood pressure, anxiety attack and depression as a result of the process but God Almighty gave me victory and approved my application. I've sent my passport to VFS today.
May Jehovah listen to your worrying hearts and visit you with good news, including PPR. |

Yes its via webform you would rectify it but I don't know if you would just send another form with the correction and then a loe explaining the error or just the loe is sufficient tourphland: I mistakenly added 10,000cad to my tuition, My program is a two year program with 16k as first year fee as indicated on my LOA. So i put 26k on my form. Even though my availabile funds is about 37k
for the ircc form yes!!! |

What can i do to savage the problem. Do i just raise a webform. |

I don't understand your question. But if what you're asking is about tuition amount, I used my letter of acceptance to fill my imm form and that is what is reflecting on my gcms notes tourphland: Good morning when you are filling the ircc forms, was it the tuition 1398 as shown in your gcms notes you put. Or this is what is on your letter of acceptance? |

I mailed like 9 different MPs for Edmonton and they all gave the same response, they can't help because I am not currently in Canada IntimidationJay: this is new! Cos I had emailed the MP of my school and the assistant responded in less than 10 mins asking for my details which I shared with him, he responded 20mins later telling me that he has sent an inquiry to IRCC and if I don’t get an email from him in 2days I should follow up. The next day I got my PPR, two days after I got a response from him saying that My study permit was approved since June 25th but I got PPR on July 16th. I think the email from the MP reminded IRCC to issue my PPR. |

Hi Tennie, the pronouns used always confuse me. Are you the one travelling or your sister? You initially stated that it was your sister's application, do you also have a separate application for yourself or you'll be accompanying her as a minor? This is me just being curious o.....lol Teenie19: Hello,
IRCC never requested for another LOA which was quite surprising... I'm actually still waiting for a LOA. I had to apply for another semester because the school does not have deferral option. I believe they will issue me a study permit at the border and at that point, they will use my new letter of LOA. |
