The last time I checked, 80% of those olodours children of rich men who attended private uni are employed thru connection while many of you are still writing application letter 2 years after graduating frm uni. My point is what you become after becoming what you want to become matters. What is d essence of shouting great Ife and remain jobless after sch while one boy that attended one mushroom uni is doing fine wit at least 6 digit salary else where. 1 Like |

Family / Re: Can A Wife Be Envious Of Her Husband's Success? by tenry(m): 12:40pm On Jan 07, 2015 |
I witnessed one recently, in fact i wanted to create a thread on this issue but the ops beat me to it. One of my colleagues loved banking job and he was desperate to work in a bank for 3 years without success even though he read accounting. His wife read chemistry and immediately after her NYSC, she relocated to Lagos. She wrote an aptitude test conducted by a consulting firm on behalf of union bank and was successful. She went for the interview and for good 7months, they didn't hear from them again. The lady got one small job shortly and they got married. Precisely a year after my colleague's wife attended the interview, she was sent a job offer mail and was directed to report to the training school the following week with a start up salary of over 200k. My colleague first saw the mail cos he logged in to check her wife's mail. He announced to us in d office and suddenly his mood changed. I need to add that his immediate younger brother was also employed along with his wife by union bank. We were working in a private company with salary little above 100k. Being the kind of person he is, we all knew he was not happy about it cos what could hav caused a mood swing at a time he shld be happy. His mood remained the same nearly to d close of work. One of the big sisters in d office asked him why he was not happy, he just responded coldly that 'nothing'. Then sister B started telling him to forget d fact that he could not get what he has been struggling with over the years and that his wife got it. Destinies ar diff, may be not God's will for him, bla bla bla. |

thinkdip: So easy to detest one of the bigots raping our economy. Your impotence, infertile, ineptitude, lackluster and uninspiring president with executive recklessness ll soon vacate Aso rock. In 2011 at Addis ababa, your stupid president vowed that the issue of powere ll become a thing of the past if voted into power. Four years is enough for anyone to make a significant improvement and if I can't improve power within this perios, it means I can't do anything well", he boasted. Light is worse in ibadan till now. Your slow mind ll think everybody mobilizing vote for Buhari is paid, damn you! I don't need politicians' money, all I want is good governance and I have tried GEJ, he failed, there is no big deal to try someone else. 1 Like |
Politics / 2015:general Mohammadu Buhari's Five-point Agenda by tenry(m): 10:15am On Jan 01, 2015 |
All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari yesterday asked Nigerians not to lose hope because change is imminent in the country. He said 2015 is a year of change for the nation, which the forthcoming elections would bring. Gen. Buhari listed a five-point change agenda which he would implement – if elected president. He pledged to change the nation’s debilitating dependence on crude oil to earn revenue. Gen. Buhari, who explained the change he has envisioned for the nation in a New Year message, pledged to provide mass employment, adequate security, fight corruption, improve infrascptructure and good health care. A statement by Director of Communications Buhari Campaign Organisation, Mr. Dele Alake, said: “I have unshakeable faith that 2015 will be the year of change. Now some of you have asked me: what exactly does ‘change’ mean? “I have taken time to explain this at different opportunities, but on this special day, let me remind you in five short statements. Change means: •A country that you can be proud of at anytime and anywhere: where corruption is tackled, where your leaders are disciplined and lead with vision and clarity; where the stories that emerge to the world from us are full of hope and progress. •A Nigeria in which neither yourselves, nor your parents, families or friends will have to fear for your safety, or for theirs. •A Nigeria where citizens get the basics that any country should provide: infrastructure that works, healthcare that is affordable, even free; respect for the environment and sustainable development, education that is competitive and outcome-oriented in a knowledge-economy. •A country that provides jobs for its young people, reducing unemployment to the lowest of single digits and providing safety nets so that no one is left behind. •A Nigeria where entrepreneurship thrives, enterprise flourishes and the government gets out of your way so that you can create value, build the economy and aggressively expand wealth. The APC candidate expressed confidence that the five agenda are implementable. He said: “Are these things truly possible? Of course. That is the essence and outcome of leadership, and that is what my party and I promise you as we get into 2015.My dear friends, this New Year, more than ever before, I am hopeful about Nigeria. “Yes, you are disappointed and you are angry, as you are entitled to, but you must never give in to the temptation to feel so weighed down by those who have failed you that you lose your hope and your energy and your passion to see change. You must never give up on Nigeria. “Together, we can build a nation that is secure, prosperous and gives everyone a fair chance. “This is the promise that 2015 holds. That is the promise that change will bring. That is the promise that I bring to you.” Gen. Buhari said although 2014 was challenging for the nation, Nigerians should not lose hope or despair. He added: “The year 2014 was a challenging one for most citizens of our dear country. “We remember our compatriots who were brutishly killed or maimed by evil terrorists in 2014. I remember with a still broken heart that 219 of our children from Chibok are yet missing, let down by a country that should protect them. I remember that, even as I speak, some of our towns and villages are yet under the occupation of Boko Haram. “Yes, it is enough for you to despair. It is enough for you to wonder if your country cares about you and can protect you. But do not despair. “Two thousand and fifthen has arrived at a time of great discomfort; but the beauty of the New Year is that we can look forward with renewed hope and the knowledge that things can and will change.” Gen. Buhari repeatedly assured that Nigerians will begin to write a new story as from 2015. He said: “In Nigeria’s case, we can truly look forward to the change that the elections can, and will, bring. Our country will be secure again. Our country will prosper again. “I have faith that 2015 is the year we shall begin to write a new story – a story of our youth creating jobs and expanding the frontiers of innovation and creativity everywhere from Mavin Records to the Co-Creation Hub; a story of genuine investment in our children and students be they in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka or in the Delta State University, Abraka; a country that finally makes a permanent shift from our debilitating dependence on the free-falling price of crude oil.” |

Religion / His Pastor Shared His Confidential Information While Preaching by tenry(m): 7:18am On Dec 28, 2014 |
One of my friends recently told me how his pastor was making reference to his challenges in the course of preaching to the congregation. According to him, he had been passing through some difflcult time and only went to his pastor for prayer and counselling, he was not expecting his pastor to cite his case as an example while preaching. Although he said the man of God didn't mention his name, the description and details released while preaching made him uncomfortable. I have also listened to pastors telling the congregation what church members have told them during counselling hour. How appropriate is this? Does it not meant to be kept as a secret? Does a pastor has any right to share church members' secret without taking permission from them? |

PDP had been keeping vigil for APC to get it wrong with their choice of VP. God saved APC. You could see that in the tone of the press release by Olisah Metu. He didn't even address the suitability of Prof Osinbajo cos they hav been praying that it ll be zoned to South-south(amaechi or Osho baba) or south west ticket would have been given to Fasola(muslim) that would have given them avenue to convince the people of the south west. Rather he was talking Tinubu being a funder and founder of APC. The truth is south south governors cannot guarantee 10million votes from their region, only Lagos alone will deliver close to 6million. The south west is the second highest voting region in the federation. One can concede SE and SS to GEJ and still win the presidency. 40 Likes 3 Shares |

Pastor Adeboye showed the congregation in camp last week his permanent voter's card anf that of his wife. He insisted all redeemed members must ensure that they collect it and vote in February. In fact he told his pastors to preach it and always ask members in their parishes. |
