No problem, they can elect to have as many states as the number of local government areas in the country, as long as those states will be self sustaining and viable rather than depending on the manna that gush out of the land/deep sea and distributed from Abuja. |
Op, i found your article stimulating, I salute your articulation and narraation, the problem with your post is that it is heavy on conspiracy machination than on real and hard evidence and data on the ground, many part of your writeup will make a nollywood block buster movie with all the sub plot. Crude oil theft and revenue loss to the nigerian federation occurs across five different levels, thief @ the loading bay by the multinational oil companies (mnoc) because Nigeria does not have the correct figures of how much crude is lifted legitimately by these mnoc. The second level happens through the NNPC crude oil swap deals with foreign refineries and all the middle men, the third level is what you rightly described, the theft on the high sea, the fourth level involve the local hustlers n pipeline vandals who also refine using local technology. The fifth level is what I called the opaque subsidy regime for local consumption that have been abused by marketers, this is also theft in a way.of course there is a criminal complicity of the security agencies, staff of oil companies, politicians,'militants' and the local communities. No country worth its salt will surrender the initiative for the mangement and security of its strategic resource to criminal element, that is why the phenomenon of crude oil theft must be tackled with all the seriousness it deserve. As for my take on how to curb it, because we can only reduce it, we can't eliminate it, contact me with your consultancy fee. Lol |
I think Username has done more publicity about Russia than your ambassador posted to nigeria can possibly do. It is Amazing to note you are just 22 years old going by the way your mastery of the history of your country. The internet is such a powerful positive force for good. |
Have you thot of the many other lives who have been adversely affected by the plane crash? Those that have banked on this burial to reap fortune. The seller of Aso ebi, the caterers, those offering rental services, the undertakers are directly affected as they were in the plane, the thieving government officials who were put in charge of funds and preparations for the state burial, what about the pimps who would have flooded the town by wkend to offer their own services to randy men.what about the church were the burial service was to hold, the VIcars there too were waiting to get their cut from the numerous VIPs guest, All don enter voice mail now. Bad market I tell you. |

HOKENDAUQUA, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say an eastern Pennsylvania woman stabbed her fiance to death during an argument on their wedding day. Na Cola Darcel Franklin is charged with criminal homicide in the death of 36-year-old Billy Rafeal Brewster in their Whitehall Township apartment. Police say they found Brewster bleeding shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday. District Attorney Jim Martin says he was pronounced dead at a hospital. The (Allentown) Morning Call reports that at her video arraignment Saturday, the 31-year-old Franklin wept and choked out, "I did not kill him on purpose." Neighbor Steve Engel says the pastor who was supposed to perform the ceremony came to the apartment building after being unable to reach the couple, and a number of people who were apparently going to the wedding also showed up throughout the day. |
folks what do you think about this mans action? under what condition can we justify this? your commemts pls |
• A man accused of shooting his wife of 45 years in a hospital intensive care unit in what may have been a mercy killing was charged Wednesday with aggravated murder, and his attorney said the man always acted out of love. John Wise appeared before a municipal court judge in Akron via video from jail Wednesday morning. No plea was entered. He must return to court Aug. 22. Wise, who lived with his wife in Massillon, is accused of shooting her at her bedside in the ICU unit of Akron General Medical Center Saturday. She died the next morning. His attorney, Paul Adamson, said after the brief court session that the unfolding case would show Wise acted out of love. "I'm thoroughly convinced he's a good man. I think his past history bears that out," Adamson said. "Forty-five years of marriage, blessed to be deeply in love with his wife throughout those 45 years, and I am absolutely confident that everything that he's ever done for his wife has been done out of deep love, including the events that just recently transpired." Wise appeared in court Tuesday and was apparently confused about initially being charged only with attempted murder, asking "Is she not dead?" Visiting Judge Marvin Shapiro told Wise that he would soon have an attorney who could answer his questions. Prosecutors upgraded the charge to aggravated murder after an autopsy showed that Barbara Wise died from a gunshot wound to her head. A county medical examiner ruled her death a homicide. Nurses on the hospital floor where Barbara Wise had been in critical condition in the ICU for several days at first thought an oxygen tank had exploded when they heard a popping sound, a 911 caller told a dispatcher. A woman, who identified herself as a nurse, said she and others looked into the room and saw a man dressed in black. "We saw him sitting there with a gun. He was, like, loading it," she said. The caller said she didn't know if anybody had been shot, but she heard screaming as she hid in a room. Why Barbara Wise was in the hospital hasn't been released. Emergency personnel responded to the Wises' home a week before the shooting for a medical call that involved advanced life support, including oxygen and a heart monitor. Hospital and emergency officials have said they can't disclose any information about patients because of privacy rules. Wise entered the hospital on Saturday through the main entrance and went up to his wife's room without drawing any attention, apparently keeping the handgun concealed, hospital spokesman Jim Gosky said. A doctor nearby heard a distinctive popping sound, he said. Source- http://news.yahoo.com/man-charged-murder-wifes-hospital-death-130448242.html |

WELCOME HOME PRODIGAL FATHER,YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PROGRESSIVE POLITICIAN |

This is a worthy tribute to African futbal, you dont have to ply ur trade in europe b4 you can win a major tournament.i hope keshi and the nfa are wtching |

if this story is confirmed, then kudos to the intelligence agency, though i have my reservations, wait a minute, what about the fifty million price tag,who then claim it? |
if this story is confirmed to be true,we dont expect this man to continue in office,if he fails to resign,he should be impeached |
the guy probably forsee a disastrous outing for england in the championship, then decided to use the john terry issue as an alibi my take?he came,he fought and was defeated. |
going through the terms of reference of this task force,i only wonder what is the difference between it and the nigerian extractive industry transperency initiative (NEITI)set up sometime in 2004,if this org were alive to its responsibilities, there wont be any need for this duplication of functions and the resultant waste in public fund |
i really wonder why people will suspend their reasoning faculty just to be seen to be anti west and anti America, the issue in syria is not about the agenda of a country or group of countries,it is about the inordinate ambition of one man to hang on to power no matter the cost in human lives of the same people he supposedly wants to rule over.Cant we see why russia vetoed the resolution? they are the arms suppliers, the world have moved from the era of non interference in the internal affairs of a country to a time of non indifference. how many more pepole must die before the conscience of these two countries will be aroused? |
when the people are stronger than the government, you have democracy, when the government is stronger than the people you have tyranny-ala nigeria |
i think the governors should be compelled to refund every dime earned in the last eight month, every contracts and agreement entered into during those periods should be declared null and void and of no effect.but we know these guys will rig their way back to office.really unfortunate. |
it is not rocket science to know and appreciate the problems of our police force, why do they perform excellently well when on international assignments? -the environment is different.but the problem can be summarised thus, they are simply ill trained, ill equipped and ill motivated, fix these three ills and you will get a better police force |
"How does one convey scenes where killers perform ritual recitations before or after the meticulous throat-slitting of schoolchildren, in the conviction that this carries the same potency of immunity as papal indulgences once did in the decadent era of Christianity? " maybe with time the islamist will be purged of their blood thirty appetite. |
@beaf,why do you always labour to confirm people opinion about you? in my short stay in nairaland, your name ringout as the most controversial figure in this forum,i dont think that is a compliment. |
