blacksta: Finally After Many Days of Sipping Salty Air and Water.@ blacksta, I need to talk to you asap. |
holluwai: .There is nothing explanatory about what the guy said. If you don't understand, quoted below is a robust analysis given by someone yesterday. Stay clam and enjoy the analysis. You'll find that our financial institutions are lazy and doesn't take the necessary risk that will create wealth for the SME, which will eventually rub off on the economy. Enjoy the analysis:- ""You are making point, but you must realize that in the world-over, COT is not part of a bank income. It is one of the crooked model that crept into our banking tradition and got cemented. Banking is all about financial intermediation. You mobilize funds from the surplus sector of the economy (through deposit mobilization) and move the funds to the deficit sector (Through loans and advances) to finance productive ideas that grow the real sector. The bulk of the income of a bank therefore should come from the differential between the Deposit rates and the Lending rates. Now, as a customer, I gave you my money as a bank to keep. You use the money for business and generate income and anytime I come to withdraw, you charge me COT. does it make any sense? When I deposit money with a Bank, the bank becomes automatically indebted to me. It becomes my debtor. And anytime I come to collect my money from my debtor, it still charges me. Does it make any sense? The issue is that Nigeria Banks continually fail in their responsibility of financial intermediation. They are master at mobilizing deposits. If you have money, they will pursue you to synagogue and once the fund is mobilised, they will rather lend to the mighty and Invest the bulk of the money in 'gilt-edge security' and money market Instruments like Treasury Bills, Treasury certificates etc. When Emefiele was appointed the CBN Governor, I already have a pre-knowledge of what he will do. He was the GMD of Zenith Bank. Zenith Bank has no business model when it comes to real banking. What they do is fund trading. Bank with them for donkey years and come with the most-productive ideas in the world and request for just a token to finance it, even when you pass all the 5cs of credit, you will be amazed at how they will turn you down, unless you are the Dangote and MTN of this world. They are master at mobilizing funds but they invest the money in Treasury bills because they do not want to take risk. They have the least risk-asset ratio in the banking industry because they don't lend. The problem with it is that they do not grow the economy. The profits they make from investment is enjoyed by Jim Ovia and the big boys in the bank. When Sanusi increased the Cash reserve ratio (CRR) on government funds from the original 12% to 50% and later to 75%, the bank's existence was under treat because 90% of the funds they invest in Treasury Bills come from government. So the model is just that they take funds from government at no cost and lend the same government's money to the same government at 30% through investment in Treasury bill. Sanusi saw this fraud and quickly moved against it. Save for t he appointment of Emefiele as CBN governor, the bank would have downsized some months ago. Now that Emefiele is the CBN governor, his loyalty is more to Zenith Bank than to the people of Nigeria. This is evident in the way he approved the appointment of Jim Ovia as a working chairman of the board. All policies that were put in place by Sanusi that are pro-people and anti-capitalist banks will be reversed by Emefiele gradually. This is just the beginning. Before the end of his tenure, I see him reducing CRR on government Funds to as low as 10%. This of course will continue to destroy the economy. To me, Emefiele was appointed because: (a) He has a reputation for displaying unalloyed loyalty to his boss, even to the point of Death. He was DMD under Jim Ovia in Zenith Bank for ten years and even when Sanusi forced Ovia to resign and Emefiele took over, he was just a puppet as the bank was practically run by Jim Ovia from outside. (b) Needs of GEJ to get a CBN governor he can control as there will be needs to finance the 2015 election The problem is that when you have a clueless president and a CBN governor who does not have a mind of his own, you can not hide away from anti-people policies. Like I said, just expect more of this from CBN under Emefiele."" |
Culled from one of the commentators on The Punch website. I think it is actually President Jonathan who should be ASHAMED of himself because he waited 3 months for a 17 years old girl young enough to be his granddaughter to come and teach him the technicalities of statecraft. It took the intervention of a 17 year old girl Malala after 3 months of the abduction of these innocent girls before Jonathan agreed to meet with the parents and the escapee girls. So if Malala didn't come, Jonathan wouldn't have thought of meeting the parents?. Well meaning Nigerians have asked the President to meet with the parents of the girls even if to reassure them but he ignored them since Jonathan doesn't even believe that any girl was abducted. Jonathan and his sympathizers still believe that the abduction was fake and stage managed to discredit him and stop him from reelection as confirmed by the bully spokesperson Okupe. Even when the bringbackourgirls heroins took some of the girls during demonstration to Jonathan on 2 occasions they were dispersed with teargas and prevented from entering Aso rock. Jonathan said he will not see anybody and instead sent the so called secretary Anyim Pius Anyim. I SALUTE THE PARENTS OF THESE GIRLS FOR IGNORING JONATHAN AND THEY SHOULD NOT ATTEND ANY MEETING WITH JONATHAN BECAUSE IT IS ONLY A WASTE OF TIME. Even when the world has come to terms with the abduction of the girls and the confirmation from Boko haram that indeed the girls are with them and with video evidence and confirmed by the parents that they saw their kids in that video some of the parents even died from high blood pressure after watching their daughters in that video still JONATHAN AND PATIENCE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT ANY GIRL WAS ABDUCTED. This is a shame. If Jonathan has to wait for Malala to teach him what to do regarding meeting the parents then what he is telling the whole world in effect is that his grandchildren are the ones teaching him statecraft on every policy and that's why he is clueless and gets his policies wrong..... Well said..... |
Eccl 9:11 I returned and saw under the sun that - The RACE ia not to the SWIFT, neither the BATTLE to the STRONG, nor BREAD to the WISE, nor RICHES to the men of UNDERSTANDING, nor FAVOR to the men of SKILL,.......But, "TIME and CHANCE" happens to them all. Eccl 11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters, for thou shall find it after many days......This verse reminds me that God will bless a hand who gives. Gala 6:7 Do not be DECEIVED, God is not Mocked; for WHATSOEVER a man SOWS, the same he shall REAP................This reminds me that the law of Karma is still very much valid. |
omonuan: Okay now, MFM has the right to ask Mr. Sowore to leave the church premises and if this is what was done rather than attacking him, no one would have faulted the church and I don't think that SR would have raised any issue,. It is the "arrest" and the false imprisonment that is troubling. The other troubling fact is the exposé by SR that they saw people flogged and chained to the door in a hallowed house of GOD. You would agree with me that a non state actor and certainly a church should not operate a prison or torture anyone.Sir, I like your civility and way of reasoning, hence the response. Anyway, the bolded part of your response doesn't mean that SOWORE was civil when he was being ushered out. For the fact that you did not think something happened in an unusual way, does not make it happen in a usual way. Sowore has always been a comrade, more of a militant(right from the university days), I respect him alot and i know him very well. You and I can picture what SOWORE can do to provoke the crowd(I'm assuming you know him personally or probably you've heard or read about his antics in the university days). One thing is sure, Sowore has more to this story than meets the eye. I still stand to be corrected, why did he go further beyond the authorized boundary,if he didn't have an interior motive? We all know that an action will definitely require a counter reaction. From the look of things, we can conclude that Sowore came with the intention of being molested by the security(intentionally trying to gain access to the restricted area) so as to write about MFM? Prove me wrong brother? Cheers!! |
Una no go kill person, see as i dey laugh for office........ |
@ omonuan What exactly have you been seeping....Does it mean that Sahara Reporters, having been allowed to cover the events, went further beyond the authorized boundary, should be left/allowed a free day just because SOWORE is incorruptible. According to the story, the issue in not about access to the event but breaching the protocol of boundaries. It's like saying, this is my party. Invitation can only grant you access to room A. You are restricted from room B & C. Yet because this is SOWORE, I should breach it. Thats a capital NO! Think about it, what if he has an IED loaded in his camera? Who knows? Do you think because it is a house of God, every tom, joystick and perper should be allowed access without decorum? Relating this with the Bible facts, In the days of Jesus Christ, was there Boko Haram? Was there anywhere in the Bible which pointed out that during the teaching our Lord Jesus Christ, there was security treat just like we have in Nigeria? Go back, read what you have typed and see if it makes sense. We are talking about over 30,000 crowd at a time, we are talking about security of life of the congregation. I'm out please. You can call me any name...... |
baby_123: Baba psychologist, I probably have more self esteem than the whole of your village. One thing I won't do is be with someone that cannot accept when they are wrong and be called out for what they do. Even if it containts insults. That area is already even covered. So keep your psychobabble for yourself and your gf/wife who may have issues after you do what you like. And she blinks, cries and runs to the whole village for solution.@ baby_123, After following this thread with all rigor, based on illustrations given by 'Dayokanu' and 'Sisi_kiils" to further explain the need to do away with what i tagged INSULT-IN-MARRIAGE. I do not need "babalawo" and/or pastor to tell me that you "BABY-123" is a product of a violent environment, probably you must have taken after your mum or dad (No offense). Take it easy lady, as an adage says 'Kii see gbogbo egbin ni eniyan man gban". Call me a baboon, I've spoken my mind. Shallom |
elelem: The positions were for accounts, Engineers, biochemists Geologists, etc . Passed through three stages and d last stage was unbelievable and unexpected . One day i got a 750 naira recharge card number from an unknown number , i thought it was wrongly sent to me so i forward d number back to d sender and still called d number to know if it was a mistake or not d, person thanked me for being honest . A month later, d company called me , i thought it was for another stage of d interview, 16,819 people applied for the job but as at d 3rd stage we were down to 209 and d final stage unknown to us was d sending of recharge card number to test our sincerity and only 13 of us called or sent back the number . 13 of us got the jobThat was baddddttt. Anyway, the venue of the final interview was @ Chocolate royal - Etim Iyang. It was fun. 4 white guys asking me if i dey bleep "Ashii" (U can imagine). They saw it in ma face that I don't do such but i told them oha, that, I do "quicky" with cool babes but no more ashy. Gave them series of experiences with ashi in the past, thou I cooked it up. They laugh me to scorn and I got the job. Ironically, these guys no dey bleep ashi. I think they only wanted to know how truthful i am..... Cheers. |
shol: You've got τ̅☺ come with your Id if u're τ̅☺ be allowed in the Main Library,I agree with you. "Corcernman" got it totally wrong. Before you can be allowed access into National Laibrary Herbert M, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos, you've got to tender a valid ID Card(most especially something to identify you as a student of any tertiary institution). I remember in my uni. days, that library was of immeasurable help to me. My daily routine was like Lecture room(Unilag) - National Library - My house, on daily basis. This was about 12 - 13 years ago. Up till tomorrow, my niece still use the same library for GCE & WAEC but you've got to have ID Card before you can go in. The issue with books in the library in both 1st and 2nd Floor is, they are obsolete. Nonetheless, if you do a thorough searching you'll still find some of them useful. Its just a pity that "most' students of nowadays hardly use the library they prefer "facebooking". There is a small library in the Psychiatric Hospital at Yaba Bus stop, Lagos. Psychiatric Hospital main entrance gate is directly opposite the BRT Corridor main bus-stop, Yaba. The Library is also very very quiet but few books and limited space. Not to compare with the National library at Alagomeji at all. I can tell you affirmatively that all the books there are obsolete. Go there with your books, laptops etc, you only need to register with =N=200 per Annum, get it right I said =N=200 for the whole year. It's really cool to read in that library I must confess. Another advantage this small library has is that, they operate from 8a.m. to 8p.m., yes 8 p.m. In my ACCA days, that used to be my favorite library. Hope this helps someone... |
Everestto: Talking about price, babyboy is more costly.I disagree with the bolded sir. I drive 99 Camry till date. I can give u first class experience. Immediately the car landed in Lagos, i told myself, i wouldn't drive this car until i got the collapsible mirror. I did @ Ladipo - 13k for the pair (though Tokunbo). Ever since then, i speed as high as 140km and never will it get blown by the wind. Just to correct your statement so as not to mis-inform people. I love my Camry any Day any Time........Highly rogued. |
Hummm! Life, Life, Life.....It has taught me to "Sow whatever I intend to reap" It has taught me that you might not get the same measure of Love you have for your spouse. It has taught me also that people tend to see you as being weak when you are a cheerful giver. It has taught me that "No condition is permanent" If i can ride a good car now, then everyone can do the same. It has taught me that Happiness is a matter of choice' It has taught me that No condition is permanent It has taught me that Hard-work pays and Nothing like luck, you get yourself prepared and utilize the opportunity once it surfaces. Life is VANITY. |
Cheers! |
acidtalk: Personally, I will speak for myself. In addition to what you said, I believe that 'Whatsoever a man sows, the same he shall reap". If you sow love, you'll reap love. If you sow mercy, you'll reap mercy when the need arises...... The subject matter is what baffles me with respect to the perception of people especially we Nigerians to the phrase, "BEING A GIVER". To the glory of God, I'm a regular giver, in fact people tend to name me "father Christmas", even my wife. I have a reason because I was actually brought up to help people. I've heard about stories of people being burnt when helping but I told God that in as much as I give willingly(without a futuristic expectation), then the Lord God will pay me back, which he has been doing. Yes, people tend to make you look like a fool when we give them. What surprises me most is that when you do not give to the normal person you've been giving over the years, you might end up being hated. I now begin to wonder why you have to hate me because I don't give you now. I keep asking myself, have you forgotten that I used to give you when i had? I have now come to realise that no matter how urgent the request or complain is, my rule is "DO NOT BE QUICK TO GIVE THE MONEY" except it is associated with life and death. Even if you have the cash in your pocket, make sure you give the person the impression that you have to till the ground before the money comes up. This have been working quite well for me. Finally, I see it as a thing of joy helping people, most especially the 'WIDOWS' and the "ORPHANS" around me. I made a covenant with God that even if I will render help to this categories of people at the detriment of my family, Oh Lord I will. Beloveth, Help has never forsaken me. The secret is, If you attend to God's need in the areas of helping the Widow's, Orphans & the (truely) less privileges, The Lord said it himself that HELPERS shall never depart from you. I believed it, I tapped into it and since, it has been working for me. I also believe it boils down to love. The Bible says LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. If we can keep the commandment, the world will be a better place to live. I thank God for giving me the grace to be a cheerful giver. Cheers! |

dayokanu: I told you to differentiate the people you can bluff and me..Below is a report from the US embassy stating exactly the same thing I said. Robbery on osborne was a regular thing that most colleagues at work would wait till late before leavingJust passing by, This is my normal route (Kingsway - Osbourne - Third Mainland Bridge) and I can tell you categorically that Lagos it alot safer compared to the report you posted. The issue of Apogbon - Lagos Island you mentioned earlier, it had been fixed way back 2008. The robbers operate with motor-bike on the other side of the road but I can tell you Dayo, it is a thing of the past. Yes, there are still armed robbers in Lagos but relatively, it is safer on the Island than any other part on the mainland. This i can say categorically with respect to 15 years experience. Thanks. |
Common guys, we have to stop all theses trash. I understand the fact that social media has actually help to put public office holders on their toes but then we need to criticize constructively. Somebody said something, "We are busy driving away the few patriots we have left and encouraging the thieves to remain in office". Take a critical look at your comment, see if actually N O I is patriot or not. She really is to be sincere. Lets assume we chase her away with all our rigor for being incompetent, who do you think Jo boy should appoint as her replacement being the carrier of the transformation agenda of JO boy? Is it the "Shamusideens' "? or the "Riliwan Lukmans' " ? or the "Dr. Kalu Idika Kalus' " ? or the "Chief Anthony Anis'" ? or the "Mr. Mansur Muhtars'"?. These people are nothing but selfish greedy looters. We all need to be sincere with ourselves the way we comment, how on earth is it possible for someone to walk without having his/her head shaking! N O I is human and you cant rule away the natural human tendencies from her. She has made mistakes which normal human being could have done but then, she's performing right as far as her role is concerned. The TRUTH is the House Of RepresentaTHIEVES are complaining because the front companies aint getting cash to spee @ parties, period!! We all know that since the Facrook episode, the House Of RepresentaTHIEVES have been looking for ways to bring N O I down because she advice the presidency with respect to the subsidy scrap. Remember when you fight corruption, It fights back. I have come to learn somethings about criticism since the episode of "Hembe and Madam Oteh" before the cruel-some display of the SEC Staff, i have had this bad opinion about Mrs Oteh as someone corrupt especially the way media hyped up her bad behavior. It was at the point of the protest by the SEC Staff that i came back to me senses, I knew that for this people to stage a protest, then there is more to this than meets the eye. Alas, when an external body(PWC) was engaged to look into her activities, she had since being vindicated and in my humble opinion when i read the report i have to start asking God for forgiveness. If we push out the good and patriotic Nigerians we have left, we will end up shouting and screaming but you know what............WE MUST LEARN TO ACCEPT CHANGE BECAUSE WHOEVER IS COMPLAINING ABOUT A POSITIVE CHANGE DEFINITELY IS BENEFITING FROM THE CORRUPT PROCESS(s). A word they say....... |
